Lund Track and Field Excels at White Pine Meet

The Lund track team is gearing up for their region meet with a successful outing at the White Pine High School. The weather was uncharacteristically nice for this meet. Maybe the nice high altitude air and warm temps accounted for good number of personal bests (10 in all) from the runners and throwers. Senior Emily Cornelison won both the shot (37’2”) and discus (PR 110’8) in the 12 team meet. Senior Tori Montoya was fifth in the shot (29’2”) and also recorded a PR in the 100-meter hurdles (19.43) and 300-meter hurdles (58.83). Sophomore Kelsea Reid recorded a PR in the 100-meter run (13.59) and ran a 29.32 in the 200-meter race. Sophomore Sam Cornelison ran a PR 30.30 in the 200m and jump 12’7” in the long jump. Sophomore Alondra Dowl ran the 1600-meter run in 7:56. Freshman McCall Harness ran a PR 30.26 in the 200-meter run. Senior Ciera Jensen ran 13.88 in the 100-meter run. Harness, Jensen, Reid, and Cornelison won the 4 x 100 relay in a time of 56.76. The girls as a team scored 86 points for third place.
