White Pine County Sheriff’s Blotter

Submitted by the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office for July 23-29 Information and spellings of names contained in the blotter are as released by the WPCSO. Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

July 23

Report of a vehicle blocking a driveway in Ely — The vehicle was gone upon arrival.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a welfare check in Ely— Officer reported that the individual was not located.

Report of littering — Officer received a report of someone throwing a beer can from a moving vehicle. Officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle and identified the responsible party as Charles White from Ely. White was issued a citation for littering.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that his landlord locked him out of his rental and refuses to provide him his property in the home. Officer contacted the landlord and reported that all the reporting parties belonging were moved into a shed and he can make arraignments to pick them up.

Report of a welfare check in Ely — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of an ATV disturbance in Ely — The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

Report of possible harassment in Ely — Reporting party stated that an individual keeps driving by his home. Officer reported that during his investigation no criminal activity was substantiated.

July 24

Report of a possible sexual assault in Ely — Reporting party stated that while visiting a friend she had been sexually assaulted. During the officers investigation the reporting party refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Report of a dog problem in Ely — The area was patrolled, but no dog running at large was located.

Report of an accident — Ronald Pierini of Mindon, NV was operating a vehicle on State Route 486 when he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of lost mail — Reporting party stated that she sent away for a identification card, but never received it. Reporting party wanted the incident documented.

Report of an accident — Sam Carson of Ely was operating a vehicle on US 6 when he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a fire — Report was given to Ely BLM.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a fraud in Ely — Reporting party stated that her ex-husband obtained a credit card in her name and proceeded to charge numerous items on the card. The ex-husband committed the crime in another state. A report was completed.

Report of an accident — Curt Prestwich of Pioche, NV was operating a vehicle traveling on US 93 when he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Krisse E. Thompson age 26 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Devin Bishop age 22 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a local motel. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of shots fired — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

New bookings — Krisse E. Thompson, probation violation, no bail; Devin Bishop, probation violation, no bail.

July 25

Report of a suspicious subject in Ely — The reporting party claimed to have seen a subject, clad in black, darting in and out of parked vehicles in a parking lot. Deputies checked the area, but were unable to locate the subject.

Report of vandalism — The reporting party said someone damaged a piece of farm equipment. The investigation continues.

Report of a TPO violation in Ely — The reporting party claimed a temporary protection order (TPO) had been violated. The investigating deputy found there was no enforceable violation.

Report of a dog problem — The reporting party claimed two dogs had been aggressive toward her son and her own canine. A report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party complained about issues with her adult son, who lived with her. Deputies found no crime had been committed. Both parties were advised to seek counseling.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party found two dead jackrabbits in the bed of her truck. A report was completed.

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed several items had been stolen from her home, possibly by a family member. The investigation continues.

Report of a music disturbance in Ely — The deputy was unable to locate any disturbance.

Report of a music disturbance — The deputy located the source of the music and the astringently vociferous canticle was turned down.

Report of a suspicious subject in Ely — The reporting party claimed someone opened the door on her parked vehicle. Deputies checked the area, but the subject could not be located.

Report of an arrest in Ely — A deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, identified as 42-year-old Ely resident Erwin McQueen. McQueen was arrested for driving under the influence, and intimidating a public officer after making threats against the arresting officer.

New Bookings — Randall Pirnar, serving time for Ely Justice Court; Curtis Wayne Decker, criminal contempt – warrant, bail $1,326.70; Erwin T McQueen, driving under the influence – Improper turn – vehicle entering an intersection – insurance required – intimidating a public officer, bail $5,000.

July 26

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — The reporting party complained that a male was sleeping outside the clinic. The subject was contacted and left without incident.

Report of suspicious subjects in Ely — Two subjects were reportedly going through a dumpster and loitering outside a local business outside of normal business hours. Deputies checked the area, but the subjects were gone.

Report of an attempt to locate in Ely — The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

Report of a business license violation in Ely — Subjects were allegedly peddling furbelow without a license. The subjects were gone when officers arrived.

Report of a burglary in Ely — The reporting party claimed a relative broke into her house. A report was completed.

Report of a domestic disturbance in Ely — Deputies found only two friends were arguing. Both were warned about disturbing the peace.

Report of a welfare check in Ely — The subject called and reported she was ok.

Report of a burglary in Ely — The home was checked and the burglary was unfounded.

Report of a theft in Ely — The reporting party claimed someone stole a trailer belonging to a relative. A report was completed.

Report of an accident in Ely — Tristan Susan, of Ely, was stopped attempting to turn left, when her vehicle was rear-ended by Marta Estopare, of Ely. An accident report was completed.

Report of lost property in Ely — The reporting party claimed he left some property in a motel room last week. The motel personnel claimed they did not find the property. A report was completed.

Report of an alarm — The alarm was accidentally set off by the owner.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and was in good health.

Report of a battery in Ely —The reporting party claimed her daughter had been battered by another juvenile. A report was completed and will be submitted to Juvenile Probation.

July 27

Report of a suspicious subject in Ely — An intoxicated subject was reportedly knocking on the reporting party’s door late at night. The subject was located and escorted to his home.

Report of a barking dog in Ely — Contact was made with the owner, who brought her dog in the house.

Report of a private property accident — Joyce Hoffman of Ely was backing from a parking place in a private parking lot when she struck a vehicle operated by Brenda Boren, of Ely. A report was completed.

Report of debris in the roadway in Ely — The deputy checked the area and found an unopened can of Pringles, never been popped.

Report of a dog problem — The reporting party complained about a neighbor’s dog running at large. A report was completed.

Report of suspicious circumstances in Ely — A male subject matching the description was located and later transported to the hospital because of mental issues.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — The reporting party complained that several juveniles were trespassing on private property. Deputies located the juveniles, who left the property without incident.

Report of a noise disturbance — The subjects were contacted and advised to keep the noise down. They said they would comply.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — The reporting party claimed there were possibly juveniles in an abandoned building. The building was checked and no one was found.

Report of a theft in Ely — A male subject was accused of sealing from a local store, but it was later discovered to be a misunderstanding.

Report of harassment in Ely — The reporting party claimed to be getting unwanted communication from an ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend was contacted and advised to stop, which he claimed he would.

New Bookings — Dennis Butterfly, disturbing the peace, arrested by the Ely Shoshone Police Department.

July 28

Report of a welfare check in Ely — The subject was contacted and found to be in good health.

Report of a business alarm — The alarm was accidentally set off by an employee.

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed someone had stolen property from where he works. The investigation continues.

Report of a disabled vehicle in Ely — The vehicle was moved out of the roadway prior to law enforcement arrival.

Report of a dog problem — The reporting party claimed she and her two passengers got out of her car and a dog ran from the brush and jumped into the car. The reporting party said the dog would not get out of the car and growled when they approached it. The deputy removed the dog without incident.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — The reporting party claimed to be having issues with his ex-girlfriend’s father. All parties were advised to stay away from each other.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party claimed his adult son was sick and believed someone made him use drugs. The investigation continues.

Report of an accident in Ely — Anna Nicholes, of Ely, was stopped at a stoplight when David Rose, of Lake Head, CA backed up and struck Nicholes’ vehicle. Rose was issued a citation for unsafe backing.

July 29

Report of a suspicious vehicle in Ely — The vehicle was located and several people were found sleeping in it. Per the authorized agent of the private property where the vehicle was parked, the occupants were asked to move and did so without incident.

Report of a reckless driver — Deputies checked the area, but were unable to locate any violations.

Report of harassment — The reporting party complained about a male harassing her online. A report was completed.

Report of a dog problem in Ely — The reporting party complained about a barking dog. Officers were unable to locate the offending dog.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — The reporting party claimed an older juvenile was texting her younger juvenile. A report was completed.

Report of an ATV disturbance in Ely — The subject was located and warned about causing a disturbance.

Report of a reckless driver — The reporting party complained about a reckless driver. A citizen’s complaint was signed and will be issued on the driver, when located.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — The reporting party complained about an intoxicated subject causing problems in a public area. The subject was located and was escorted home by a friend.

Report of an accident — Deanna Lynn More, of McGill, struck a stop sign while driving. A report was completed.
