October 29

Report of a theft in Ely — The reporting party claimed a family member stole her prescription medication. A report was completed.

Report of a complaint in Ely — The reporting party complained about a disabled vehicle abandoned near his business. The vehicle was towed.

Report of harassment in Ely — The reporting party claimed to have received threats via text messages from a family member in another state. A report was completed.

Report of harassment in Ely — The reporting party claimed to have received threats via text messages from a family member. Upon reviewing the texts, no threats were observed. A report was completed.

Report of fraud in Ely — The reporting party received a check in the mail with a letter requesting him to cash it and wire the money to another person. He was advised that the check was fake and it was a con game to fraudulently obtain money.

Report of a custody problem in Ely — The reporting party claimed to have custody of two children, whom had been taken without permission by a former spouse. The former spouse was located and returned the children.

Report of an arrest — 35-year-old McGill resident Demetrious Robert Mellos was arrested for a warrant at his residence.

Report of threats in Ely — The reporting party claimed another male was threatening to damage his personal property. A report was completed.

Report of suspicious circumstances in Ely — Two people were reportedly seen entering a school after school hours. The subjects were contacted and found to be employees.

October 30

Report of an abandoned vehicle in Ely — The vehicle was red tagged and later towed.

Report of threats in Ely — The reporting party claimed he had been threatened by a co-worker. He wanted it on report in case of any other issues.

Report of a theft in Ely — The reporting party claimed someone stole his ladder. A report was completed.

Report of a sex crime — The reporting party reported a statutory sexual seduction. It was later learned the crime occurred in another state. The information was given to the agency where the crime occurred.

Report of an accident in Ely — McGill resident Gene Kemp was making a left turn from a stop sign, when his vehicle was struck in the intersection by a vehicle driven by Ely resident Virginia Morales. Kemp was issued a citation for failure to yield.

Report of an injury accident in Ely — A juvenile was running across the street and ran into the side of a vehicle being driven by Brandy Patchin of Ely. The juvenile was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Report of an alarm in Ely — The building was checked and found to be secure.

October 31

Report of an arrest in Ely — A deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, identified as 41-year-old Jack Greene Jr, of McGill, and a passenger of the vehicle, 40-year-old Julie Boyd-Greene, also of McGill.  Also in the vehicle was an infant. The deputy detected the odor of a controlled substance emanating from the vehicle. Greene Jr was later found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and be in possession of a controlled substance. Boyd-Greene was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Both Greene Jr and Boyd-Greene were arrested.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Deputies spoke to all parties involved and found they had only been arguing. The parties were warned about disturbing the peace.

Report of an attempt to locate in Ely — The reporting party claimed to have returned home from work and discovered his wife and children were gone.  Deputies talked to relatives of the wife and found she had left the reporting party due to relationship issues.

Report of a suspicious vehicle in Ely — The vehicle was found to be parked and unoccupied.

Report of an accident in Ely — Mark Bechtel, of Ely, was driving when two deer struck the side of his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of harassment — The reporting party claimed to have received a harassing phone call from a family member. The investigation continues.

Report of an alarm — The alarm was accidentally triggered by an employee.

Report of a business alarm in Ely — The building was checked and found to be secure.

Report of a fight in Ely — All subjects involved fled prior to law enforcement arrival.

Report of an animal problem in Ely — The reporting party claimed several deer were in the roadway. The officer located them and redirected them.

November 1

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Kyle P. Hannig age 27 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a fight in Ely — Officer received a report of a fight that had taken place at a local bar. Officer contacted the parties involved and during his investigation arrested Tanner J. Keough age 20 of Ely Keough was arrested for minor in consumption of alcohol and obstructing a police officer. The parties involved in the fight gave conflicting statements to what had occurred. The parties separated for the night.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had broken a window on his residence. No suspects were identified.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. The parties separated for the day.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had scratched her vehicle.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Cristina S. Lerch age 32 of Ely was arrested for driving on a suspended license, possession of a hypodermis device and possession of a dangerous drug.

Report of a juvenile battery in Ely — Reporting party stated that her juvenile daughter had been battered by several other juveniles. Investigation into the incident continues.

Report of a domestic battery in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved and arrested Wade C. Mulliner age 41 of Ely. Mulliner was arrested for domestic battery, second offense. He is accused of battering his wife.

Report of fireworks in Ely — The area was patrolled, but no fireworks were located.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Reporting party contacted law enforcement and filed a police report. When officers investigated the incident they found that the report was false. Officers then attempted to arrest the reporting party who was identified as John N. Lee age 30 of Ely. Lee fled the area. Officers later apprehended Lee. Lee was arrested for filling a false police report, evading a police officer, reckless driving and resisting arrest.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that several individuals were moving items out of a home and they were not allowed to do so. Officers went to the home, but no one was located.

Report of a possible drunk driver in Ely — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend came to her home and refused to leave. When officers arrived the boyfriend had left. A citation for trespassing will be issued to the boyfriend when located.

November 2

Report of underage drinkers in Ely — Officer patrolled the local bar, but no one under age was located.

Report of an open door in Ely — Officer located an open door on a storage shed for a local business. The manager of the business was advised.

Report of suspicious subjects in Ely — Officer located two subjects walking down a city street with a large amount of beer. Officer identified one of the individuals as a local juvenile. During the officers encounter with the juvenile he was detained for obstructing a police officer. He was and later released to his father. Another subject involved was identified as Frank Miller age 40 of Ely. He was arrested on a Probation Violation.

Report of a problem with a juvenile in Ely — Reporting party stated that her neighbor’s child was yelling profanities at her. All the parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that her juvenile son had been battered. Officer contacted the juvenile who explained that he and another juvenile had been in a fight over the disrespecting of a friend. All parties involved along with their parents will be contacted.

Report of a fight in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had occurred. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of property damage in Ely — Officer contacted several individuals who were staying at a local motel. The individuals had been involved in a verbal argument with each other and one of them had been locked out of the motel room. He then forced the door open to gain access to his belongings. The owner of the motel was contacted and advised of the damage. He requested that no action be taken.

November 3

Report of a fight in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved who blamed each other for the fight. Officer reported that the parties gave conflicting statements on what had occurred. The parties involved were separated and left the area.

Report of a welfare check in Ely — Officer contacted the individual and reported that he was fine.

Report of a scam in Ely — Officer received a report form a local motel operator that an individual was calling the guests at the motel advising them that if they provided their credit card number their room rates would be lowered. Officer advised the motel manager to notify their customers of the scam and to not give out any personal information.

Report of cows on the roadway — The owner of the cows was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of suspicious subjects — Reporting party stated that she observed several individuals hanging around vacant homes. Officer contacted several people in the area and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a citizen’s assist — Officer received a report of two females who had gotten their vehicle stuck on Success Loop. The females were brought to Ely and will have their car removed at a later date.

Report of a child custody problem/arrest in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over the custody of a child. During the officers investigation Moriah S. Porterfield age 24 of Ely was arrested on a warrant issued by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance. The individuals involved were contacted and advised to keep the peace.

November 4

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Ulfrano U. Banda age 22 of Ely was arrested on a warrant out of Las Vegas Justice Court for contempt of court.

Report of an attempt to locate — The individual was located in Wells Nevada.

Report of a dog attack in Ely — Reporting party stated that while she was out for a jog, several dogs ran at her in an aggressive manner. The owner of the dogs was contacted and advised to keep his dogs restrained.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — Reporting party stated that he had received information about a juvenile fight that was going to take place. Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that the situation was worked out.

Report of a welfare check in Ely — Officer located the individual inside his home. He had fallen and was unable to get up. He was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a suspicious subject in Ely — Officer received a report of an individual crawling in a window to a residence. Officer contacted the subject who had permission to be at the home.
