November 12

Report of found tires in Ely — Reporting party stated that she located several vehicle tires in her yard. The tires were collected and placed into lost and found.

Report of a suspicious subject in Ely — Officer contacted the individual who was yelling for no apparent reason. He was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a welfare check in Ely — Officer contacted the individual and reported that he was fine.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that she had been bitten by a dog while proselyting in the McGill area. The dog was detained and quarantined.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Kyle C. Miller age 20 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an unattended child in Ely — Reporting party stated that she had located a small child near a local gas station. The parent of the child was contacted who indicated that the child had left the home to find his father. The consequences of the mothers actions were explained to her.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Heaven S. Bernacchi age 21 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of fireworks in Ely — The area was patrolled, but the fireworks were not located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into her vehicle and stole several items.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a welfare check in Ely — Officer contacted the individual who was ill. He was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

November 13

Report of a found item in Ely — Reporting party stated that he located a Social Security card while cleaning his yard. The Social Security card was sent to the Social Security Department in MD.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — Reporting party stated that a student at a local school was in possession of alcohol. Officer contacted the student who did have alcohol in his backpack. The student parents were contacted and took custody of their son.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had damaged her fence. Officer inspected the fence and indicated that the fence post had not been cemented in at this time. No crime had occurred.

Report of a welfare check in Ely — Officer attempted to contact the individual, but he was not at home.

Report of illegally parked vehicles — The vehicles were located and tagged for removal.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation Sean M. Gruda age 27 of McGill was arrested. Gruda was arrested for domestic battery, third offense, false imprisonment and  a probation violation. He is accused of battering his wife and not allowing her to leave the residence.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported while conducting a search on a residence Brittney J Valdez age 18 of Ely was arrested. Valdez was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

New bookings — Sean M. Gruda, domestic battery, third offense and false imprisonment, bail $25,000, probation violation, no bail; Brittney J. Valdez, under the influence of a controlled substance, bail $15,000; Erwin T. McQueen, serving time.

November 14 

Report of a welfare check — The officer located the subjects and found them in good health.

Report of a juvenile problem — The reporting party complained about a juvenile damaging his vehicle. The officer was unable to locate the juveniles.

Report of a juvenile battery in Ely — A juvenile reportedly battered another juvenile at a local school. A report was completed and will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office and Juvenile Probation.

Report of fraud in Ely — The reporting party discovered fraudulent charges on her credit card. The investigation continues.

Report of vandalism — The reporting party claimed an unknown subject vandalized his vehicle. A report was completed.

Repot of a juvenile problem — The deputy spoke to a nipper about his jejune comportment and causing tribulation with his guardians.

Report of a dog problem in Ely — The reporting party complained about a neighbor’s dog running at large and defecating in his yard. The owner of the dog was contacted and agreed to keep the dog in check.

Report of a business alarm in Ely — The alarm was accidentally set off by an employee.

Report of an arrest in Ely — 44-year-old Ely resident Kelli Bronson was arrested for a warrant from another jurisdiction.

November 15

Report of a stolen bike in Ely — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his bike from his residence.

Report of stolen garbage containers in Ely — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen their garbage cans from their residence.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Jacob Chivers age 23 of Ely was arrested for burglary, uttering a forged note and petit larceny. He is accused of stealing a check from a co-worker, then filling the check out and cashing it at a local bank.

Report of a theft in Ely — Reporting party stated that he had information about an individual who was stealing from a family estate. Investigation continues.

Report of a fire in Ely — Officer reported that two small children started a structure fire when they were playing with matches. The fire was controlled by Ely Fire.  A juvenile referral will be sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of juveniles setting fires in Ely — Officer contacted several juveniles who were starting fires. The juveniles were detained and their parents were contacted and they were released to their parents.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Jerdon D. Long was arrested for manufacturing an explosive device and possession of a explosive device. A male juvenile was also detained and transported to the Elko detention center for the same crimes.

Report of a theft in Ely — Reporting party stated that an individual had stolen his motorcycle. Officer reported that during his investigation it was not a theft, but a civil problem between the purchaser and the seller.

Report of trash in the roadway in Ely — The garbage was removed.

Report of a reckless driver in Ely — Reporting party stated that an operator of a vehicle had cut her off several times and almost caused an accident. Officer identified the operator of the vehicle as Joey Lozano of Ely. He was issued a citation for aggressive driving.

Report of an injured deer — The area was patrolled, but the deer was not located.

November 16

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian in Ely — Officer contacted the individual who stated that he was walking home.

Report of an injured subject in Ely — Officer received a report of an individual who had been stabbed. Officer contacted the individual who stated that he observed a fight taking place and when he walked by the fight he was struck by a knife. The individual received medical treatment at the local hospital. Investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check in Ely — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of possible drug use in Ely — Officer received a report of an individual possibly using marijuana. During the officers investigation he contacted the individual who was identified as Mark Blue of Morton, MN. Blue was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Reporting party stated that her daughter had been spanked by her stepmother. Officer reported that no crime had occurred and advised the reporting party of his findings.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — Reporting party stated that several small children were climbing on the roof of a residence. The children and the babysitter were contacted and advised not to climb on the roof.

Report of a person with a gun in Ely — Officer contacted the individual who was playing with an air soft gun.

Report of threats in Ely — Reporting party stated that he received a telephone call from an unknown individual threatening to beat him up. The incident was documented.

November 17

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Reporting party stated that she was having a private party and several individuals keep trying to come in and start a fight. One of the individuals was located and was advised to stay away from the party.

Report of a stolen jacket in Ely — Reporting party stated that she hung her jacket on the back of a chair at a local bar. The jacket was then stolen. The incident was documented.

Report of a public nuisance — Reporting party stated that an individual had piled a bunch of leave onto a public street. The individual responsible was advised to remove the leaves.

Report of a dog bite — Reporting party stated that his daughter had been bitten by a dog that was running at large. The daughter received medical attention at E.R. Officers are attempting to locate the dog.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Leonard L. Mathews age 30 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant for contempt of court.

Report of a civil matter — Reporting party stated that his ex-girlfriend had locked him out of their storage unit. He was advised it was a civil matter.

November 18

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Officer contacted the individual who was causing a disturbance at a local bar. The individual was trespassed from the property.

Report of a death in Ely — Officer reported that Raymond L. Lani age 88 of Ely died at his residence due to natural causes.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Devin T. Hutchison age 28 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant for contempt of court.

Report of a dog problem — Officer patrolled the area, but the dog at large was not located.

Report of possible drug use in Ely — Reporting party stated that she was visiting her grandson and believes the mother of her grandson is using drugs. Investigation continues.

Report of a motorist assist — Report was given to the Nevada Highway patrol.

Report of a possible burglary — Reporting party stated that a door was found open on her motor home. The motor home was checked and nothing was found to be missing.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jeremy D. Walters age 32 of Ogden, UT was arrested on a warrant out of Churchill County for contempt of court. He was also detained for driving suspended.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Hayley M. Lingle age 34 of McGill was arrested on a probation violation.

Report of a parking volation in Ely — Officer located the camp trailer, which is being stored on a city street. The owner of the trailer will be contacted and advised to move the trailer.

Report of a welfare check — Officer reported that the individual was not located.

Report of a hazard — Reporting party stated that a camp trailer partly collapsed and appears to be a hazard. Officer contacted the owner who stated that it will be removed tomorrow.

Report of someone yelling for help — Officer patrolled the area, but no one was located.
