Ice rink postponed due to warm weather

The ice skating rink at Broadbent Park that has been under construction since Dec. 20 has been postponed until temperatures allow the ice to stay frozen according to City Councilman Bruce Setterstrom.

Setterstrom says that everything has progressed as planned but warm temperatures have caused the ice on the rink to thaw during the daytime.

“I worked all weekend trying to get it to freeze, but it has just not been cold enough for long enough,” Setterstrom said.

The ice rink will open once temperatures allow the ice to stay frozen for several days in a row according to Setterstrom.
