Girl Scouts give back

During this season of giving, the Girl Scout Troops 1349 and 387 have pooled some of their Cookie Money to purchase food for the Community Food Bank.  Troop 1349 held a work meeting at Ridley’s and gathered peanut butter, cereal and canned fruit, badly needed items for the Food Bank. The girls spent $120 and delivered and helped date it and put the items away.

Troop 387 went a bit farther and spent $150 and had a big enough purchase to get a free turkey which was also donated to the Food Bank. The troop also delivered the food, help date it and put it away.

During the months of November and December, both troops gave the food bank a helping hand by sorting food, dating cans and loading food for the holiday boxes. What a good feeling it was to help a wonderful cause – To Feed The Hungry.
