White Pine Sheriff’s Blotter Report

Submitted by the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office for January 14-20. Information and spellings of names contained in the blotter are as released by the WPCSO. Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

    

January 14
Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual who was intoxicated and walking to his residence. The individual was warned about making noise disturbances.
Report of an alarm — False alarm, set off by a power outage.
Report of an illegally parked vehicle — Officer contacted the operator and advised her to remove it.
Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that his vehicle was parked at a local parking lot and someone struck it with another vehicle. The striking vehicle fled the scene. A accident report was completed.
Report of an injured hawk — Report was given to N.D.O.W.
Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that he parked his vehicle along side of the roadway and a passing vehicle struck his mirror. The striking vehicle fled the scene. A accident report was completed.
Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and spoke to the operator. No crime was reported.
Report of a suicidal subject — Officer received a report of a individual who was threatening to commit suicide. Officer contacted the individual and reported that she was fine.
Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Tammy Watson age 39 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant, for contempt of court
Report of a possible fight — Officer received a report of a fight that was taking place in the middle of the roadway. When officers arrived they contacted one of the parties involved who stated that he had gotten into a fight with his brother. All parties involved were contacted who gave conflicting statements on what had occurred. The parties were advised to stay away from each other.
Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jeremiah Baca age 30 of Las Vegas was arrested for stop lamps required, D.U.I. #1, and driving suspended.
Report of a 911 hangup — Officer contacted the caller who stated that it was a accidental call.

January 15
Report of a domestic disturbance — Reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend had approached her and was causing a disturbance. Officer patrolled the area, but the ex-boyfriend was not located.
Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that a friend came over to her home and was now refusing to leave. The friend was contacted who was identified as Melanie D. Thompson age 53 of Ely. Thompson was arrested for trespassing.
Report of an alarm — False alarm.
Report of threats — Officer received a report of a individual who had threatened to shoot students at a local school. The threat had been reported by a third party who had over heard the individual making the threats. The incident was investigated and found to be unfounded.
Report of possible drug paraphernalia — Officer reported that the item was examined and it was not paraphernalia.
Report of possible child neglect — Reporting party stated that she observed a small child riding in a vehicle and the child was not in a car seat. The officer located the vehicle and spoke to the occupants who denied the allegation.
Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that a individual came to her home and that they had gotten into a altercation. The reporting party wanted the incident documented.
Report of someone shooting a gun near a business — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of a child custody problem — Reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend would not return their child they have in common. When officers arrived on scene. The reporting party was not at home.
Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

January 16
Report of a business alarm — The alarm was caused by a malfunction.
Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed an unknown subject stole fuel from his vehicle.  A report was completed.
Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed a male said something to her, which could be construed as a threat.  The male was contacted, and denied the allegations.
Report of debris — The reporting party claimed there was an obstruction on the railway.  The obstruction was cleared.
Report of vandalism — The reporting party claimed damage to the railway system.  The investigation continues.
Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed to be having issues with a former spouse and their shared custody of their child.  A report was completed.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she is receiving unwanted text messages from a individual. Officer is attempting to contact the sender of the messages.
Report of a public nuisance — Officer located a large amount of trash that had been accumulated in a persons yard. The responsible party was contacted and advised to clean up the garbage.
Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but no one was located.
Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she was receiving unwanted text messages and pictures from a ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend lives out of state. Contact will be made with the police department where the ex-boyfriend lives to have them make contact with him.
Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone was banging on the windows at her place of work. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Judy Valdez age 40 of Ruth was arrested on a Ely Justice Court warrant, for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that her window on her residence had been shot by a BB gun. Officer observed a hole in the window which was consistent with being shot by a BB gun.
Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his bicycle.
Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that a dog was running at large and chasing children. Officer located the dog and Animal Control captured it. The dog was taken to the dog pound.
Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she was receiving unwanted text messages from a ex-employee. The sender of the messages was contacted and advised to stop his contact with the reporting party.
Report of suspicious vehicle — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.
Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.
Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Shaun R. Baker age 34 of Lund was arrested on a Ely District Court warrant, for contempt of court and on a probation violation.
Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Christopher M. Wallace age 29 of Ruth was arrested on a Ely Justice Court warrant, for domestic battery # 3
