Bruce Condie obit1Bruce Austin Condie, age 83, passed away on February 11, 2014 at his home in Ursine, Nevada. He was born on June 20, 1930 in Pioche, Nevada to Ivan Jones and Rose Marie Austin Condie. He married Marilyn Alice Etchart January 14, 1957.

Bruce graduated from the University Of Nevada Mackey School Of Mines. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed mining and prospecting, hunting and fishing, working on his property in Miller Canyon. He enjoyed traveling the back roads of Nevada.

He is survived by his children; Leslie (Phil) Boucher, Laurie Cole and John (Mara) Condie all of Pioche, Nevada. His sisters; Rose Marie Delmue, Clara Nell Gratto, Annie Lee Schenk and Marva Jean Boteler. His grandchildren; Jeremy, Alyson, Alan Austin, Landon, Cydney and Bruce J., along with 7 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, his son Bruce Alan, his brother Robert (Bob) and sister Edith Rae.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Pioche Oddfellows Cemetery in Pioche, Nevada under the direction of the Southern Nevada Mortuary.

    What a great guy! I was at Kennecott while Bruce worked at the Smelter. He was someone we all looked up to, had a great respect for and loved being around. He fought hard against his health problems but never let them stop him. I was there when Marilyn died and what a sad, sad day that was. May all of you have good and lasting memories of Bruce.
