White Pine County Sheriff’s Blotter Report

Submitted by the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office for February 12-18. Information and spellings of names contained in the blotter are as released by the WPCSO. Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

Feb. 12
Report of a suspicious subject ­— Officer received a report of a individual walking along side of a roadway. The individual was contacted and no problems were reported.
Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.
Report of an accident — Magdalena Reyes of Ely had parked her vehicle in front of a residence. Teri Williams of Ely was operating a vehicle and collided into Reyes vehicle. Williams then left the scene. Officer contacted Williams and issued her a citation for failure to report a accident.
Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that she had been involved in a accident that had occurred on private property. Neither party involved indicated that their was damage to their vehicles. The reporting party later found damage to her vehicle. No information had been exchanged by the parties involved and law enforcement had not been contacted. A report was completed.

Feb. 13
Report of a hit and run accident — Officer located a street sign that had been struck by a vehicle. The striking vehicle fled the scene.
Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the juvenile and reported that he was fine.
Report of a truancy x 3 — Officer reported that the juveniles were issued citations for truancy and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.
Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that she was visiting another town when someone stole her medication from her vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a business licenses violation — Officer contacted the person performing the work and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Max G. Reid Sr. Age 82 of Lund, NV died at his residence of natural causes.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Brian Bainbridge age 30 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant.
Report of a public nuisance — Officer contacted the occupant of the home and advised him to clean up the garbage and dog feces in the yard.
Report of an accident — The report was given to the Nevada Highway patrol.
Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that a dog was attacking his turkey so he shot the dog. The owner of the dog was advised of the situation.
Report of a reckless driver — Officer reported that the operator of the vehicle was identified and will be issued a citation when located.
Report of an accident/private property — Patricia Fua of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a vehicle being operated by Edith Nance of Ely. Fua’s vehicle struck Nances vehicle causing damage. A accident report was completed.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that he loaned his cell phone to a friend and the friends ex-girlfriend broke it on purpose. The ex-girlfriend was identified as Rosalinda Juarez- Navarrette. She was issued a citation for injury to property.
Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that her boyfriends ex-girlfriend keeps harassing her. Officer contacted the parties involved and advised them to stay away from each other.
Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that a individual whom she had problems with in the past was now following her around and causing problems. The individual was contacted and he denied the allegations. The parties were advised to stay away from each other.
Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Aaron J. Sabori Jr. Age 32 of Duckwater was arrested for D.U.I , open container, and no insurance
Report of a domestic disturbance — Reporting party stated that her boyfriend had strangled her, broke her cell phone, threatened her with a knife and wouldn’t allow her to leave the residence. He had also damaged her vehicle. During the officers investigation the boyfriend was identified as Robert E. Garcia age 53 of Ely. Garcia was arrested for domestic battery with strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, interference with a communication device, and injury to property.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had siphoned diesel fuel from his vehicle. A report was completed.
Report of an oil spill — Reporting party stated that someone had spilled oil out of a container near his home. Investigation continues.
Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had scratched her vehicle. Investigation to determine a suspect continues.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he lost his gaming card a week ago and someone has been using it. Officer is attempting to locate the person using the card.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that she was walking to school when she was chased by several dogs. The owner of the dogs was located and identified as Charlotte Lopez of Ely. She was issued a citation for dog at large.
Report of a truancy x 4 — The juveniles were issued citations for truancy and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.
Report of trespasser — Officer reported that a individual was living in a home that had been condemned. The individual was contacted and identified as Arden Garlick of Ely. He was issued a citation for trespassing and removed from the home.
Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Alan J. Miller age 34 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation
Report of an accident — Robert Walsh of Middleton ID was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. He was attempting to change lanes and failed to see a vehicle being operated by Jose Morales of Ely. Walsh’s vehicle struck Morales vehicle causing damage. A accident report was completed and Walsh was issued a citation for unsafe lane change.
Report of a death — Officer reported that Jonny D. Hickman age 63 of Ely died at his residence of natural causes.

Report of an accident/private property — William G. Panagopoulos of Ely was operating a vehicle and was baking up. He failed to see a parked and unoccupied vehicle behind him belonging to Adam R. Gadeberg of Ely. Panagopoulos vehicle struck Gadeberg’s vehicle causing damage. A accident report was completed.
