Eldridge1On April 13th, 2014, in Salt Lake City, UT, Linda Sue Eldridge returned peacefully to her Creator, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born July 6, 1947 in Springfield, IL. to Lorraine L. and George W. Tucker.  After high school graduation, she moved west, where she began to build her family, career and hobbies.

Linda enjoyed being with her family and friends, at every opportunity.  She made fast friends everywhere she went with her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. She expressed her creativity through art, quilting, cooking, baking, music and gardening. Her positive, giving attitude and nurturing demeanor brought happiness and love to all.

She is survived by her loving husband, Clinton Brent Eldridge (Ely, NV), daughters; Alicia (Richard) Hankins of Ely, NV; Tamena (Derek) Stewart of Beaverton, Oregon; Jackene Jensen of Twin Falls, Idaho; Sheila (Joe) Gonzalez of Battle Mountain, NV; Christine (Danny Pabon) Eldridge of Virginia Beach, Virginia ; and son Allen (Robin) Eldridge of Ely, NV; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her sister Diane (Kim) Archer of Salt Lake City, UT; loving Mother-in-law Elva Eldridge and many sisters and brothers-in-law.

We mustn’t forget Brent and Linda’s faithful companions, their dog Willard P. Dillard and cat Sylvia, who continue to provide unconditional love.

She is preceded in death by her parents, youngest sister Kay Tucker; Step-daughter Sharon Eldridge; Granddaughter Savannah Scheil; and sisters-in-law Janet Eldridge and Nancy Eldridge.

The family would like to thank the caring doctors, nurses and staff of The Huntsman Cancer Institute and University of Utah hospitals for the care and compassion they provided to her.  We would also like to thank her many loving friends, far and wide, for their continued thoughts and prayers.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 19th, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Bristlecone Convention Center, Ely, NV.  Because Linda enjoyed summer BBQ’s, picnics and gatherings with family and friends, we have chosen to honor her with a potluck luncheon.  Please bring your favorite dish to share.

In lieu of flowers, she would have wished for a donation to her favorite charity – Heifer International and/or The Huntsman Cancer Institute.  Donations may be made on line, in her name, at anytime.

  1. Greg Jensen says:

It’s really funny that Alicia and Tamena both have their husbands listed in parentheses and yet Jackene’s Husband is left unmentioned. My name is Greg Jensen and I’m married to Jackene. Linda was my mother-in-law. Although her and I haven’t seen eye to eye and have had our differences I did love and appreciate her more than words could ever express. My heart goes out to my wife and her family for the terrible loss of one of the most astounding people I ever met. I know that Linda made a request that I not attend her funeral services however I am there in spirit for my wife, kids, and other family members who are attending.

A beautiful person has passed and will be missed. We once were neighbors
and our children played together. God Bless your family. Be thankful for your
    time together.

  3. Raeghan Tucker says:

This special lady and I played piano and sewed together for years and we shared nothing but laughter every time we were together. She was always so cheerful and happy. Words cannot express how this saddens me and the Ely community lost such an inspirational person. My heart goes out to her family. May you find peace knowing Linda Sue was loved very much.
