Aleathea Gingell, kindergarten at David E. Norman Elementary School was named Teacher of the Month for April.

Gingell was born and raised in White Pine County. She received her BA in Elementary Education from Great Basin College, my MS in special education from WGU,

Ginell began my career in education working for Washoe County School District as a paraprofessional in a kindergarten classroom.

Gingell returned to Ely to work for Head Start. In 2007 and began teaching at DEN, where she has taught  2nd grade, 4th grade, and currently kindergarten.

The teacher of the month program is sponsored by the Ely Lions Club and each school month an outstanding teacher in the White Pine County School District is honored.

Next month’s award will complete two years of the program.
