GBC student recognized as outstanding regent scholar

Jasmine Dulgar of Ely was recognized as the outstanding scholar from Great Basin College at the GBC President’s Awards Ceremony held April 24.

Each community college, university and state college selects one recipient to be honored by the Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education. The award is based on academic accomplishment, leadership ability, and service contributions while a registered student at GBC. Her nomination was submitted by Tracy Shane, GBC Agriculture Professor, who cited Dulgar’s strengths in academics and in leadership ( past state FFA officer) to benefit GBC clubs on campus, serving as past president of the GBC Agriculture Student Organization and secretary of the Basin Biology Club.

Dulgar achieved two associate degrees in December at GBC: an Associate of Arts in Agriculture Education and an Associate of Science in Natural Resources.  She is on track to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Integrative Studies Natural Resources Emphasis next year and then is considering graduate school.

In addition to academic recognition, the recipient receives $5000 to continue college studies.Jasmine Dulgar
