Mayor Melody Van Camp hosted 50 volunteers on May 31 as part of her cleaning up the city initiative that she has been touting since she was sworn into office.

Volunteers spread out throughout the city to cleanup garbage, pull weeds and more from 8 a.m. through 11 a.m.

Pat Setterstrom, who helped organize the event, said that she wanted to thank McDonald’s, “R” Place, Ridley’s Grocery, Family Dollar for donating food and water for the volunteers and a special thank you to the Nevada Northern Railway for giving all the participants a free train ride once the cleanup was complete.
