White Pine County Sheriff’s Blotter Report

Submitted by the White Pine Sheriff’s Office for June 7-13. Information and spellings of names contained in the blotter are as released by the WPCSO. Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

JUNE 7, 2014

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of a individual shooting a pellet gun. Officer contacted the parties involved who were shooting at a can. No crime had occurred.

Report of an accident — Officer contacted the parties involved who had exchanged information and requested no law enforcement contact.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she recently broke up with her boyfriend and now he is harassing her. The reporting party wanted the incident documented.

Report of a dog problem — Officer assisted Ely Animal Control on a dog at large.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the responsible party who had yelled at his dog for defecating in his home. He was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that her juvenile son had run away. Officer located the juvenile hiding not far from home. He was returned home.

Report of a found cell phone — The phone was returned to the owner.

Report of possible child abuse — Officer investigated the incident and reported that no abuse had occurred. The child had been disciplined for not following his father’s rules.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that several juveniles had started a fire. Officer reported that the fire was small and was being used to barbecue.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

New bookings — None.

JUNE 8, 2014

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an accident — Christina Shady of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a vehicle behind her belonging to Sebrina Humphries of Ruth. Shady’s vehicle collided into Humphries vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a dog at large — The owner of the dog was contacted who arrived on scene and took the dog home.

Report of a damaged window — Reporting party stated that a window had been broken at her place of business. Officer reported that it is unknown how the window was broken.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a welfare check — Officer reported that the individual was contacted and taken to E.R. for medical assistance.

Report of a small child in the street — Officer received a report of a small child riding an electric toy in the street. Officer contacted the parents and advised them of the concern.

Report of a violation of a protective order — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that no violation had occurred.

New bookings — Seferino E. Manzanares / Contempt of court / Bail $325. / Arrested by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

JUNE 9, 2014

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that he was fine.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that an individual had entered into his store and while the reporting party was being distracted by another customer the individual removed some money from the cash register. Investigation continues.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had damaged his mail box. The damage was documented.

Report of citizen assist — Officer received a report of an incoherent individual. The individual was contacted and taken to E.R. due to medical problems.

Report of an alarm — Reporting party stated that a window had been opened on her business which triggered the alarm. Reporting party stated that nothing had been taken and the window was secured.

Report of an alarm — Officers assisted hospital staff with a patient that was causing a problem.

Report of a parking problem — Reporting party stated that several people were parking their cars on her property. No cars were located on the property when officers arrived. The reporting party was advised to post the property as no trespassing.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that he had not been paid for some work he had performed. He was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that a juvenile was throwing rocks at her fence. The father of the juvenile was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into his home and stole his Play Station. Investigation continues.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had cut the tires on his vehicle. Officer located the individual who had cut the tires and reported that the investigation continues.

Report of a possible drunk driver — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and reported that she was not intoxicated, just tired. The operator returned home for the night.

New bookings — Catherine Duckett / D.U.I. drugs, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia / Bail $2,385.

JUNE 10, 2014

Report of an attempted burglary —  Reporting party stated that a lock had been tampered with on a local school. The incident was documented.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that David T. Delvecchio age 69 of McGill was arrested on a Wells Justice Court warrant for contempt of court. He was also arrested for driving suspended, no insurance and unregistered vehicle.

Report of a suspicious subject — The individual was contacted and no problems were located.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted Juvenile probation with a juvenile that was suspected of using a controlled substance.

Report of a suspicious subject — Reporting party stated that he observed an individual taking pictures of his home. The individual fled the area when the reporting party confronted him. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a domestic battery — Reporting party stated that she had been kicked by her husband. Officers are currently investigating the incident.

Report of a brush fire — The report was given to County Fire Department.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he owns a home and someone else has been living in it. Officer investigated the incident and reported that the reporting party was confused. No crime had occurred.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that she had observed several juveniles trying to break into a vacant home. The juveniles were located who admitted to trying to gain access to the home. Their parents were contacted and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Reporting party stated that several weeks ago she had been pushed by her boyfriend. Investigation continues.

Report of a child in the roadway — Reporting party stated that she had located a small child in the roadway and had returned the child home. The parent of the child was contacted who advised the child had escaped through the garage door. The mother was advised to watch her children.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the occupant of the home and advised him to turn his music down.

Report of fireworks — The area was patrolled, but no fireworks were located.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the individuals involved who making loud noises. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of theft of power — Reporting party stated that an individual was stealing power from her rental space. The individual was identified as William Gergen of Ely. He was issued a citation for theft of utilities.

Report of a prowler — The area was checked, but no one was located.

New bookings — David T. Delvecchio / Wells Justice Court warrant, contempt of court / Bail $500. / Driving suspended, no insurance, and unregistered vehicle / Bail $1,725. Manuel Gonzales / Criminal contempt / Bail $603. / Arrested by the Nevada Highway Patrol. Zachary Peters-Mullins / Ely Municipal Court warrant, contempt of court / Bail $522.

June 11, 2014

Report of a vehicle violation — The reporting party complained that a vehicle was occupying her driveway.  The owner of the offending car was contacted and moved the vehicle.

Report of a welfare check — Deputies responded to check the welfare of male subject that was laying on the sidewalk. The subject was located and found to be intoxicated.  The subject was checked out by medical and released.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was contacted and claimed to be okay.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was contacted and found to be fine.

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed his son’s bicycle was stolen.  A report was completed.

Report of an injury accident — A minor was riding his bicycle and failed to stop at a stop sign, causing him to strike the side of a passing vehicle, being operated by Cristina Bradley, of Ely.  A report was completed and the minor will be issued a citation for failure to yield at an intersection marked stop, resulting in an accident.

Report of an injury accident — Cynthia Bissa, of Ely, was driving her vehicle and turned to talk to a passenger.  As she did, she allowed her vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole.  A report was completed and a citation will be issued.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and transported to the hospital.

Report of a mental subject — The reporting party was complaining about being unable to rid himself of evil.  The subject was intoxicated and decided to stay with family until he felt better.

Report of vandalism — The reporting party discovered objects to have been moved in her yard while she was gone.  A report was completed.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Deputies spoke to both subjects and found they had only been arguing.  One of the subjects, identified as 18 year old Ashley Dawn McNay, of Ely, was found to have consumed alcohol and was also on probation. McNay was arrested without incident.

Report of a problem with a subject — Deputies assisted hospital staff in escorting a patient who had been combative.

Report of a reckless driver — The reporting party claimed she was in a vehicle and the driver began driving recklessly, so she jumped out of the vehicle.  The reporting party was injured in the jump.  Deputies located the vehicle at a residence, but they were unable to contact the occupant.

New bookings — Ashley Dawn McNay / Minor in consumption – Probation violation / Bail $355.
