Computers for Kids program in July

In July, Simplistic Solutions L.P. will be giving away 30 used computers to fourth grade students in White Pine County. Over two days, the fourth graders will learn to take apart, clean up, pain and rebuild a desktop computer. Sign ups will be available at Plush on Aultman Street. Computers for Kids Schedule

July 11

9 a.m. — Break into groups and meet the kids and volunteers.

9:20 a.m. — Groups will have a contest to name as many computer components as they can.

9:35 a.m. — Go over components list and locations.

10 a.m. — Snacks and Nova Video on how computers work.

10:45 a.m. — Disassemble

11:15 a.m. — Tape and paint (be sure child has appropriate clothing)

1 p.m. — All kids to be picked up by parents.


July 12

9 a.m. — Wake up and get moving. Games.

9:30 a.m. — Reassemble.

10:30 a.m. — Learn how to set up and test one group at a time.

11 a.m. Go over Linux software. Snacks.

11:30 a.m. — Video on Alice Website “build your own video game.”

1 p.m. — All kids to be picked up by parents
