White Pine County Sheriff’s Blotter Report

Submitted by the White Pine Sheriff’s Office for July 22-29. Information and spellings of names contained in the blotter are as released by the WPCSO. Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

 JULY 22

Report of a problem with a subject — City Animal Control Officer reported that he had a disagreement with an individual over the care and custody of a dog. The individual had threatened the Animal Control Officer. The individual was contacted and issued a citation for harassment.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he had an argument with his employer and it had turned into a physical altercation. When the deputy arrived at the scene all parties involved were not located.

Report of a traffic hazard — Officer contacted an individual who was doing work in the area. He was advised of the problem so he stopped work until better conditions could be achieved.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at the Court House. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the area.

Report of a ambulance assist — Officer assisted a small child who was having problem breathing. The child was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a child custody problem — Reporting party stated that his ex-wife was not following their child custody order. The incident was documented.

Report of identity theft — Reporting party stated that someone has been using her husband’s credit card without his permission. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she received a text message from an individual whom she owes money to. The text message had vulgar language in it and demanded she pay him. The reporting party wanted the incident documented.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a local bar. The individual was contacted and trespassed from the bar.

Report of juveniles playing with fire — Officer contacted the individuals involved and reported that it was a family barbecuing.

JULY 23

Report of a found wallet — The wallet was returned to the owner.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that his ex-girlfriend would not let him see their child they have in common. The reporting party was advised that there was a court order in affect which prohibited him from having contact with his ex-girlfriend

Report of property damage — Officer reported that a vehicle had struck a AT&T phone riser. The vehicle had fled the scene.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and contacted the operator. During the officers investigation Randy R. Rowley age 20 of Ely was arrested for driving suspended and on a Ely Justice Court warrant for contempt of court.

Report of an accident — Cody Spoelstra of Ely was operating a vehicle when a bicyclist failed to yield at an intersection causing an accident. The bicyclist who was a juvenile was not injured. The incident was documented.

Report of an accident — Officer received a report of an ATV accident that had occurred where one of the juveniles that was a passenger had been injured. Officer reported that the accident had occurred the day before, but had not been reported to law enforcement. The incident was documented.

Report of a possible drunk driver — Officer contacted the operator and reports that she was not intoxicated.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that they gave conflicting statements on what had occurred. The parties were separated for the night.

Report of a problem with a landlord — Reporting party stated that her landlord enters into her home when she is not present. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that they had a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the day.

Report of a burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into their home and stole several items. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Michael D. Oliver Jr age 26 of Preston, NV was arrested on a probation violation

Report of a welfare check — Officers are attempting to locate the individual.

Report of an ATV disturbance — The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

Report of a noise disturbance — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

JULY 24

Report of an arrest — A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by an adult and a child.  The deputy spoke to the driver, identified as 29 year old Bobby Lyn Mathewson, of Ely.  Based on the investigation, Mathewson was arrested for DUI drugs, possession of methamphetamine, and child endangerment.

Report of an intoxicated subject — The reporting party claimed a man was intoxicated subject refusing to leave a local establishment.  Officers contacted the man, who left without incident.

Report of a disturbance — The reporting party complained about a neighbor’s music and was allowed to sign a complaint against the neighbor for disturbing the peace.

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed someone stole items from his vehicle.  The investigation continues.

Report of a missing person — The person was located at his residence.

Report of a welfare check — The subjects reportedly left the area prior to law enforcement arrival.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and claimed to be doing fine.

Report of a theft — It was reported that a man was stealing items from a residence.  It was discovered the man owned the residence and was moving.

Report of a theft — The reporting party said she forgot her purse in a public restroom.  When she returned, she found money missing from her purse.  The investigation continues.

Report of lost property — The reporting party claimed to have lost his mobile phone.  A report was completed.

Report of an arrest — Glenn Thomas Clayton was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Ely Municipal Court.

Report of found property — Abandoned bike was located and placed into lost and found.

Report of an arrest — Donica Herring was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Ely Municipal Court.

Report of an alarm — The alarm was activated due to child interference.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The reporting party claimed to have been battered by her husband.  Officers were unable to contact the husband.  The investigation continues.

JULY 25

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a stolen vehicle — Reporting party stated that his vehicle had been stolen by his ex-girlfriend. Officer investigated the claim and reported that the ex-girlfriend had been making the payments on the vehicle and was also on the registration.  Both parties involved were advised it was a civil problem.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that two bicycle’s had been stolen from her yard.

Report of a threat — Officer received a report where a victim in a crime had been contacted by a family member who requested she change her testimony. Investigation continues.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that he sold a vehicle to a individual and that the individual had taken the car, but hasn’t paid for it. The reporting party was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of an accident — Officer reported that Jeff Bookelaar of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Spring Valley Road. Bookelaar lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll. The accident was investigated.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted the Nevada Highway Patrol with an individual who had fled on foot during a traffic stop. The individual was located at a residence in McGill. He was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Deputies.

Report of shots fired — Officers located two possible suspects that were shooting after dark. They were advised of the consequences of their actions.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Lauren A. Abrams age 28 of Las Vegas was arrested for D.U.I and basic speed

New bookings — Lauren A. Abrams / D.U.I  and basic speed / Bail $1,210. Corey M. Campana / Obstructing a police officer and possession of a controlled substance / Bail $10,000. Arrested by the Nevada Highway Patrol. Rodolfo H. Hernandez / Probation violation / No bail.

JULY 26

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the reporting party who stated that her husband had come home intoxicated and was causing problems. The husband had left on foot before officers arrived. No other problems were reported.

Report of an accident — Kiersten Sonerholm-Hooper of Ely was operating a vehicle on US 93. A deer entered into the roadway striking her vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog and reported that it stopped barking while he patrolled the area.

Report of a dog bite — Reporting party stated that a dog had reached through a fence and bite him. The reporting party received medical attention at E.R. Officers are attempting to locate the owners of the dog.

Report of found property — Reporting party located a wallet and other personal items in the roadway. Officers are attempting to locate the owner.

Report of a dog at large — Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised him of the problem.

Report of a possible drunk driver — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle who was not intoxicated, just tired. He was advised to get some sleep.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the day.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Kyle P.  Hannig age 28 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his neighbor’s water from his sprinklers was getting on his vehicle. The neighbor was contacted and advised to move his sprinkler.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that when his renter moved out he took some property from the rental. Officer contacted the renter who denied taking any property. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident — Report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a theft — Officer investigated the incident and reported that it was a civil problem and no crime had occurred.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. During the officers investigation Roni L. Olson age 44 Ely was arrested for obstructing a police officer.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the operator of a semi-truck that was parked, but running. The operator was advised to leave the area.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog, but the owner of the dog was not at home. Contact with the owner will be made when located.

Report of shots fired — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

JULY 27

Report of a reckless driver — Officer contacted the operator who was having problems with his vision. He was assisted home.

Report of a barking dog — The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that his ex-wife was refusing to give the children back after visitations. Officer reported that a child custody order was in affect and both parties involved were advised to follow it.

Report of shots fired — Officer reported that a crow had flown into a power transformer causing damage to the transformer.

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that someone had struck her vehicle with another vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene.

Report of an embezzlement — Officer received a report of an employee at a local store that had embezzled funds. During the officers investigation the employee was identified as Samuel R. Garcia Jr. age 28 of Ely.  He was arrested for embezzlement and grand larceny.

Report of a dog problem — Officer received a report of a dog running at large. The owner was contacted and advised to secure his animal.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties separated for the night.

Report of shots fired — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted two individuals who were separating property so one of them could move out. They were advised to keep the peace.

New bookings — Samuel R. Garcia Jr. / Embezzlement and grand larceny / Bail $10,000. Amanda Meadows / Ely Municipal Court warrant, contempt of court / Bail $565.

JULY 28

Report of a fight / arrest — Officer received a report of a fight that was taking place near a local bar. When officers arrived they located a vehicle leaving the scene. The vehicle was stopped and during the officers investigation Dustin D. Faris age 22 of Ely was arrested. Faris was arrested for D.U.I., no insurance and no driver’s license in possession.

Report of an accident — Report was given to the Nevada Highway patrol.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had broken into a fuel tank and stole some fuel. Investigation continues.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had reached through a window on her apartment and stole several items. The incident was documented.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had used his credit card without his permission. He was advised to contact his credit card company and cancel his credit card.

Report of missing guns — Reporting party stated that he has lost or misplaced several of his fireman’s. Investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party found a dog at large. The dog was placed into the Ely Dog Pound.

Report of a dog bite — Reporting party stated that she had been bitten by a dog. The owner of the dog was identified as Amber Mason of Ely. Mason was issued a citation for dangerous dog.

Report of a missing juvenile — Reporting party stated that her juvenile brother left home and hasn’t returned. Officers are attempting to locate the juvenile.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the children and they were fine.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jesse J. Reiter age 22 of Ruth was arrested for D.U.I. # 2

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jamie B. Bullington age 34 of Ely was arrested for use of cellular device and D.U.I. #1

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that she was fine.

New bookings — Dustin D. Faris / D.U.I., no insurance, and no driver’s license in possession / Bail $1,745. Jesse J. Reiter / D.U.I. # 2 / Bail $2140. Jamie B. Bullington / Use of cellular device and D.U.I. # 1 / Bail $1,005.
