Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

SEPT. 23

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the responsible party who was watching TV and had the volume turned up high. He was advised of the noise complaint.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officers received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation Walter R. Kennedy age 30 of Ely was arrested. Kennedy was arrested for domestic battery, child abuse, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is accused of battering a family member, a small child and possession of illegal dugs

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that her ex-husband keeps calling and threatening her. The reporting party’s ex-husband lives out of state. Officers contacted the local Sheriffs Officer where he resides and they are attempting to locate him.

Report of an accident — Officer received a report of a vehicle that had struck several parked cars while backing up. When officers were investigating the incident the individuals involved who were operating the vehicle gave false information. Officer reported that Jennifer L. Perkins age 32 of Ely was arrested for obstructing a police officer and permitting an unlicensed driver to operate a vehicle.  Christopher R. Barbour age 23 of Ely was arrested for driving without a driver license, immediate notice to police involving an accident, no proof of insurance, and unsafe backing.

Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that he struck a dog with his vehicle on US 93. Officer reported that the dog had been running at large when struck. The dog was deceased and it was removed from the roadway.

Barbour / Driving without valid license, immediate notice to police involving an accident, no insurance, and unsafe backing / Bail $1,415. Jennifer L. SEPT. 24

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that her gas card had been stolen and used several times. Investigation continues.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a truancy — Officer reported that the juvenile will be issued a citation for truancy when located.

Report of an ATV problem — Officer received a report of a juvenile riding a unlicensed motorcycle on a city street. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that his juvenile son was disciplined at school for hitting a teacher. The incident was documented.

Report of malicious mischief — Reporting party stated that he observed an individual climb into the back of a vehicle that doesn’t belong to him. Officer contacted the individual involved who advised they were playing tag. They were advised to stay away from the vehicles.

Report of a suspicious subject — the area was patrolled, but the no one was located.

Report of a suspicious smell — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that her son’s bike was stolen. The incident was documented.

SEPT. 25

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who stated that they were arguing over a phone. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a scam — Reporting party stated that he received a telephone call indicating he had an overdraft and needed to settle the money owed. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and to discontinue any contact with the caller.

Report of a bad check — Officer contacted the issuer of the check and advised her to contact the establishment where she had written the check.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer received a report of a vehicle that passed a school bus while its lights were flashing. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that John L Trujillo age 49 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she loaned her vehicle to an individual and he didn’t return it for a long time. When she contacted him to return the vehicle he got mad and threw the keys at her. The incident was documented.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of child abuse — Officer received a report of a child that was taken to E.R. due to a injury he had sustained while playing with friends. During the officers investigation it was determined that the injury was self-inflicted.

SEPT. 26

Report of a problem with a subject — Officers received a report of a individual causing a disturbance at a local bar. The individual was contacted and advised to leave.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that he was receiving unwanted text messages from an individual. The individual was contacted and advised to stop his contact with the reporting party.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of open refrigerator — Officer received a report of a refrigerator that was outside and was open. The reporting party was concerned that some children might climb inside it. Officer reported that the refrigerator door was secured.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred. The vehicle had become stuck. The operator was able to remove the vehicle.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Nikole J. Richardson age 23 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that several dogs inside a vehicle were barking at him. The incident was documented.

Report of a possible burglary — Reporting party believed someone might have broken into his home. The home was checked and no break in had occurred.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a dog at large — The dog was contained and placed into the City Dog Pound.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who stated that they had been arguing over rumors. They were advised to keep the peace.

SEPT. 27

Report of a fight — Officer reported while patrolling the Ely area he located several individuals involved in an argument outside a local bar. The individuals involved were contacted and advised to keep the peace.

Report of a citizen assist — Reporting party had a smoke detector going off inside her home. Officer reported that the detector needed a new battery.

Report of a burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into her home and removed several items. Investigation continues.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Reporting party stated that they observed an altercation that had taken place inside a vehicle between two people. Officers patrolled the area, but no one was located.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the operator of a semi-truck who stated that he was fine.

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that he was in the process of replacing a sign when a vehicle drove by striking him in the elbow. The area was patrolled looking for the striking vehicle, but it was not located.

Report of a domestic battery — Reporting party stated that she had been battered by her husband while at their home in another county. Officer investigated the incident and will forward the information to the proper jurisdiction.

SEPT. 28

Report of an arrest — Officer reported while patrolling the Ely area he located an individual identified as Maria B. Dominguez age 20 of Ely walking the city streets. Officer reported that Dominguez was found to be a minor in consumption of alcohol. She was then arrested

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog and it was removed to the city dog pound by the owner’s request.

Report of a brush fire — The report was given to Ely BLM.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that he had located several open doors on a vacant building. The building was checked and the owner of the building will be notified.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that an individual keeps riding his motorcycle on his property. Officer is attempting to contact the operator of the motorcycle.

Report of a private property accident — Melissa Spear of Ruth was operating a vehicle backing up. She failed to see a parked vehicle behind her belonging to Kipp Spear of Ruth. M. Spears vehicle struck K. Spears vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a dog at large — The dog was taken to the City Dog Pound.

Report of an ATL — Reporting party stated that their daughter left with a friend and hasn’t been home for several days. Officers are attempting to locate the daughter.

SEPT. 29

Report of an inconsiderate driver — The vehicle was located and the driver was warned about her driving.

Report of a hit and run — The reporting party’s vehicle was parked and unoccupied in a private parking lot when it was struck by an unknown vehicle.  The offending vehicle fled the scene.  A report was completed.

Report of an arrest — David Ulibarri, 50, of Ely, was arrested on a District Court warrant.

Report of suspicious vehicles — The vehicles were gone when officers arrived.

Report of vandalism — The reporting party claimed an unknown subject damaged private property.  A report was completed.

Report of an accident — The reporting party claimed a friend borrowed her vehicle and crashed it.  The incident is under investigation.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The reporting party claimed to be having issues with her teenage sons fighting.  Both subjects were advised to listen to their mother.

Report of threats — The reporting party claimed to have received multiple threats via Facebook.  The investigation continues.

Report of a dangerous driver — A vehicle was reportedly swerving across all lanes of traffic.  Deputies checked the area, but the vehicle was gone.
