Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

DEC. 10

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed property was stolen from a school.  The property was later located.

Report of an arrest — Kyle Hannig was arrested for a Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a dog bite — The reporting party claimed to have been bitten by his own dog whilst removing said canine who had inadvertently stepped into a trap meant for a fur bearing animal.

Report of threats — The reporting party claimed to have been receiving threats from an unknown person on her mobile.  A report was completed.

Report of an attempt to locate — The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

Report of a private property accident — Roy Frates, of Ely, was pulling into a parking place in a private parking lot, when he struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of a dog bite — The reporting party attempted to separate his dog from fighting with another dog and got bit in the process.  A report was completed.

DEC. 11

Report of a man with a gun — A student reported seeing a man, with what appeared to be a gun, at David E Norman Elementary.  The school was placed into lock-down by school administration.  Members of the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office, Ely Shoshone Police, Department of Public Safety – Investigations, and Nevada Highway Patrol all responded to the school and searched for the alleged suspect.  It was later learned that the alleged suspect was visiting the school and did not have a gun, but had a cell phone in his pocket.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed a man came to his place of business and injured himself after roaming into an area that was unauthorized for customers.  The reporting party wanted it documented in case of future problems.

Report of harassment — The reporting party claimed to be harassed by her daughter.  Contact to be made with the other party.

Report of property damage — The reporting party, an employee at a local gas station, reported a vehicle left without removing the fuel hose, causing it to be pulled from the pump.  A deputy located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.  The driver, identified as 31 year old McGill Resident Brandie Tate, was later arrested for driving under the influence.

Report of an accident — Robert Douglas, of Ely, was driving on a highway when Harold Robertson, of Ely, pulled in front of him from a private drive.  Douglas struck the rear of Robertson’s vehicle.  Robertson was issued a citation for failure to yield from a private drive.

Report of embezzlement — The reporting party, a manager of a local business, claimed an employee stole property from the store without paying.  Video was obtained which showed the suspect steal the property.  A citation was issued to the employee, identified as 35 year old Ely resident Thomas Abel.

Report of a private property accident — Zachary Snow, of Ely, was backing from a parked position in a private parking lot, when he backed into a parked vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of an accident — The reporting party claimed to have slid off the road.  There was no damage to the vehicle.

DEC. 12

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted who was sleeping in his car. The individual requested no assistance.

Report of a suspicious subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was knocking on her door and she didn’t know who he was. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a found bike — The bike was placed into lost and found.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that he found a pry mark on his business door and believes someone was trying to get in. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument over money. The parties separated for the day.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her ex-husband came to her place of work and she didn’t want him there. The ex-husband was contacted and advised.

Report of a falling tree — Reporting party stated that a large tree was falling over. County maintenance was contacted and advised.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer received a report of a hunter whose vehicle had become stuck after sliding off the roadway. Officer provided the hunter with a ride back to Ely.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that an individual was threatening to kill him. Officer reported that the threats were made after a traffic related incident. The other party involved will be contacted.

Report of an accident — Officer reported that Michael Shillito of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on CR44 when his vehicle left the roadway causing it to slide down an embankment and partially over turning. The accident was documented.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Deanna L. Harris age 48 of McGill was arrested on a Lincoln County Justice Court warrant.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that his girlfriend was threatening to throw his property outside their home. Officer contacted the girlfriend and advised her not to damage any of the reporting parties’ property.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that an individual had come to his home and battered him. The reporting party was allowed to sign a citizen’s complaint for battery which was served on the accused party.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that her juvenile daughter was being disrespectful. The daughter was contacted and advised to respect her mother.

Report of a domestic battery — Reporting party stated that her boyfriend had battered her. Officer reported that the boyfriend had left the area before they arrived. Officers are attempting to locate him.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that several dogs were without food or water. The dogs were checked on and they both had plenty of both.

Report of a stolen wallet — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her wallet while she was at a local store. The wallet was located next to the reporting parties’ vehicle where she had dropped it.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that an individual threatened him over a girl they had both dated. The parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend and he kicked the door to her residence causing damage. The boyfriend had left the area. Investigation continues.

DEC. 14

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his girlfriend came to his motel room and she was very intoxicated. The reporting party wanted the girlfriend removed from his room. The girlfriend was advised and she left.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that a family member recently moved out of his home and he wanted to know his legal obligations if she wanted to move back in. The reporting party was advised of the laws pertaining to his questions.

Report of an accident — Officer took a delayed accident report that occurred on US 93 near Wells, NV.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and occupants and reported that they were just resting from traveling.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties were advised to keep the peace.

Report of an open door — Reporting party located an open door on a vacant home. Officers checked the home and the door will be secured.

Report of an open door — Officer received a report of an open door on a vacant home. Officers checked the residence and secured the door.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a suspicious phone call — Reporting party stated that she received a phone call where the caller was upset at her for developing a relationship with her husband. During the investigation it was determined the caller had the wrong phone number.

Report of a suspicious phone call — Reporting party stated that she missed a phone call and when she attempted to call the number back it showed it was restricted. The reporting party was explained what restricted numbers were.

Report of dogs at large — The area was patrolled, but the dogs were not located.

Report of a stolen vehicle — Reporting party stated that he rented a vehicle to an individual and the renter has not returned the car. Investigation continues.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that a juvenile was at his place of business and that the juvenile should be at school. The juvenile was contacted who had ridden the wrong bus. His parent was contacted who arrived and took the child to school.

Report of identity theft — Reporting party stated that someone was using her social security number and date of birth to gain employment.  Officer located the suspect who is working in the Wendover NV area. Investigation continues.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual who was selling items out of his van. Officer checked the items and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and she was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that his landlord entered into his apartment battered him and stole some of his property. During the investigation the allegations were not proven. Steven R. Groben II was arrested on a probation violation.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of lost medication — Reporting party stated that she had lost her medication. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who denied any problems had occurred. They both were advised to keep the peace.

DEC. 16

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Elizabeth M. Faver age 24 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a dog problem — Officer received a report of several dogs running at large at a local school. The dogs were captured by animal control.

Report of an accident — Douglas Doutre of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on 6th street. He failed to stop for a stop sign and struck a vehicle being operated by Jeffery Bainbridge of Ely. Doutre was issued a citation for failure to yield causing an accident. An accident report was completed.

Report of cows on the roadway — The owner of the cows was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a traffic problem — Reporting party stated that a vehicle in the Ely area drives up a one way street every day. Officers will patrol the area.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles running into traffic. The juveniles were contacted and advised to stay out of the roadway.

Report of found keys — The keys were returned to the owner.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer received a report of a vehicle that was parked near a local business establishment with several people inside. Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and during his investigation arrested David J. McIntosh age 36 of Ely. McIntosh was arrested for D.U.I. and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

Report of a prowler — The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of several small children playing outside without adult supervision. The children and their parent were contacted and advised of the problem. The parent claimed she was ill and didn’t know her children were outside. A report was sent to D.C.F.S.

Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that someone had struck her vehicle with another car. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. A report was completed.
