Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

JAN. 7

Report of a music disturbance — Officer received a report of a music disturbance taking place at a residence in Ely. Officers attempted to make contact with the occupants, but they refused to answer the door. A citation for disturbing the peace will be issued to the owner of the home when located.

Report of an accident — Jeffrey Eidem was operating a semi-truck and when he was attempting to make a turn he struck a fence. An accident report was completed.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that an individual had entered into his home after he had been trespassed from the residence. During the officers investigation the individual was identified as Gregory S. Boyle age 27 of Ely. Boyle was arrested for burglary and petit larceny. Boyle is accused of entering into the home and removing some property.

Report of an ATL on a juvenile — Reporting party stated that a student had rode the bus to school, but failed to attend school. The student was located and returned to school.

Report of a shoplifter — Reporting party stated that an individual had entered into his place of employment and stole a pair of shoes. The individual had left the store before officers arrived. He was later located and identified as Michael Steele age 20 of Ely. Steele was arrested for minor in consumption of alcohol and petit larceny.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had thrown eggs at her vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of an accident / private property — Elizabeth Puckett of Ruth was operating a vehicle and backing up. She failed to see a parked vehicle belonging to Diana Fowler of Ely. Puckett’s vehicle struck Fowler’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of an accident — Mary Ingle of Ely was operating a vehicle turning from Ogden Ave onto Aultman Street. She failed to yield to a vehicle being operated by Jennifer Daughtery of Ely causing an accident. Ingle was issued a citation for failure to yield and an accident report was completed.

Report of a trespasser — Officer met with the property owner who had advised an individual that she was trespassed from the property. The individual acknowledged the order and she left the area.

Report of a suspicious subject — Reporting party stated that an individual had collected some mail that didn’t belong to her. Officer contacted the individual who had picked it up for a friend. No crime had occurred.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that her son had been battered at school. School officials were aware of the incident and were meeting with the parent.

Report of a fire — Officer reported that an individual had over cooked a sandwich in a microwave which caused it to catch fire and smoke. No other damage was reported.

Report of debris in the roadway — Officer located a Christmas tree in the roadway and it was removed.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that he observed a vehicle following a juvenile. The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer made contact with the occupant who was looking for a place to sleep.

Report of a private property accident — Jonathan Simons, of Ely, was backing from a parked position in a private parking lot and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of a juvenile problem — The reporting party claimed his son was being bullied at school.  Arrangements were made to meet with school staff in the near future to address the problem.

Report of a burglary — The residence was checked and a subject was located.  The subject was taking care of the dogs for the owner while they were out of town.

Report of a juvenile problem — Several juveniles were allegedly loitering.  The area was checked and the juveniles were gone.

Report of an arrest — 24 year old Ely resident Daniel Kumpe was arrested for an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a shoplifter — The reporting party, an employee of a local store, reported a male subject stole two candy bars.  The subject, identified as 28 year old Ely resident Kyle Hannig, was located and issued a citation for shoplifting and was arrested for an outstanding Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed a mother and daughter were observed putting nails under a car in a parking lot.  The two females were contacted and the mother admitted to putting the nails under the car.  A report was completed and will be submitted to the City Attorney for prosecution.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed a male moved the traps he had put out to catch stray cats.  The male was advised not to move the traps.

Report of an accident — Jody Solberg and Carolyn Berry were driving parallel to one another, when Solberg made a lane change and struck Berry’s vehicle.  Solberg was issued a citation for unsafe lane change.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party discovered nails around her vehicle at her workplace.  The nails recovered matched the nails from the call earlier in the day.  A report was completed and will be submitted to the City Attorney.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officers responded to a domestic where the male subject was threatening to kill law enforcement of they arrived.  When the deputy arrived, the male was identified as 50 year old Hal Glen Wallis, of Ely.  Wallis was observed with a long object in his hands, which he held up in a striking position and advanced toward the deputy.  Wallis was subdued and taken into custody.  It was later discovered that Wallis had used force against a person with whom he resides.  During the incident, Wallis continued to use loud tumultuous language and threaten the lives of law enforcement.

Report of a theft — The reporting party said he traded a vehicle to a man, but now the man has taken it without permission.  The investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed someone egged her vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of a missing juvenile — The reporting party claimed his juvenile son ran away.  The information was passed onto surrounding counties.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that David Hudson age 31 of Fort Mohave, AZ was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted an elderly female who had fallen. The individual was taken to E.R. by ambulance

Report of possible found drugs — Officer collected the item and reported that they were not drugs.

Report of a dog problem — Officer located the dog at large and the owner was issued a warning.

Report of possible child abuse — Reporting party stated that her child had been intentionally kicked by an adult. Investigation continues.
