JAN. 14

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted several individuals who were having a house party and one of the guests had become belligerent and was causing a disturbance. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of dog at large — Report was given to Ely Animal Control.

Report of a welfare check — Officer attempted to locate the individual, but she was not at home.

Report of a welfare check on several sheep — Reporting party stated that several sheep were in the back of a vehicle and it appeared they were in distress. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a suspicious subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was watching several women through a window. The individual was contacted who stated that he was just passing by the area.

Report of an accident — Bill Hibbs of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling near the Cleaveland Ranch when a deer entered into the roadway. Hibbs struck the deer causing damage to the vehicle. A report was competed.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his chainsaw from the back of his vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual came to his home requesting payment on some items he had supposedly bought but still owned money on. . The reporting party advised he told the individual to leave, but she refused. Officer contacted the individual and advised her to leave the property. She was also advised that the money owned was a civil problem.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that she was fine.

JAN. 15

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Billy R. Gergen age 33 of Ely had entered into the White Pine County Jail to serve time. During his booking process contraband was located on his person. Gergen was then arrested for introducing contraband into a jail facility

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that the father of her children had worked a graveyard shift and was now traveling to the Ely area to pick up their children for visitations. The reporting party was concerned that the father would fall asleep while driving. The father was contacted who stated that he had slept before coming to Ely.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his neighbor had threatened him. All the parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

Report of an accident — Cody Odgers of Ely was operating a vehicle towing a trailer. Odgers was slowing down to enter into an intersection. Matt O’Flaherty of Ely was operating a vehicle and was traveling behind Odgers. As he did so he was following to close and struck the trailer Odgers was towing. An accident report was completed and O’Flaherty was issued a citation for following to close.

Report of drug use — Officer received a report of several students at a local school that had possibly used a controlled substances. During the officers investigation one of the juveniles was found to be in possession of marijuana cigarettes. Two others juveniles had used marijuana. The guardians of the juveniles were contacted and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of illegal dumping — The area was patrolled, but the dump site was not located.

Report of possible injury to property — Reporting party stated that he had a flat tire and when they fixed it they found two nails in it. The incident was documented.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the occupants of the home who stated that when a friend left the residence he was upset and had yelled. The individuals were advised to keep the peace.

Report of possible child abuse — Reporting party stated that she had learned that an adult friend had spanked her children. The incident was documented.

Report of several burglaries — Officers received several reports of someone breaking into vehicles in the McGill area and removing property. Investigation continues.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles climbing on a roof. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles had left the area.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that a woman was outside a local business dressed inappropriately. Officer contacted the business and advised them of the complaint.

Report of a bad check — Officer collected the check and reported that the issuer of the check is already under investigation for that crime.

Report of a trespasser — Officer received a report of an individual trespassing at a local apartment complex. The area was patrolled, but she was not located.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of a dead deer in the roadway — The deer was removed, it had been struck by a vehicle.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jasmine L. Bishop age 22 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individuals at the home and reported that they were fine.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of a individual causing a disturbance at a local bar. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of several burglaries — Officer reported that several vehicles in the McGill area had been broken into and property removed. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Destine B. Thomas age 32 of Las Vegas was arrested for D.U.I. and basic speed

Report of atv disturbance — The area was patrolled, but the ATV’S had left the area.

Report of an accident — Teddy C. Sedgwick of McGill was operating a vehicle traveling on the shooting range road. He stated that due to a mechanical problem with his vehicle he lost control of it causing it to roll. An accident report was completed.

Report of possible drug use — Reporting party stated that she could smell marijuana being smoked. The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that she and her boyfriend own a vehicle together. She stated that her boyfriend took the license plates off the vehicle. She was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of a landlord problem — Reporting party stated that her sewer is clogged on a home she is renting. She stated that the landlord lives out of the area and won’t allow her to have a Plummer fix it. She was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that while his juvenile son and his friends were out for a walk they were confronted by an adult who yelled at them. The adult was contacted who advised that the juveniles were very rude to him. The parties involved were advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a dog at large — Officer reported that the dogs were back in the owner’s yard. The owner was contacted and advised to keep her dogs contained.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of barrels on a sidewalk — The owner of the barrels was contacted and he stated that he would have them removed.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was located. He had become stuck in his vehicle on Success Loop.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The parties involved were contacted and stated that they were involved in a verbal argument. One of the parties involved left the home for the night.

JAN. 19

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that every night someone rings her door bell and then runs off. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a dog bite — Reporting party stated that he had been bitten by a dog at a local trailer park. The owner of the dog was contacted and the dog was placed into quarantine. The reporting party received medical attention at E.R.

Report of a violation of an open meeting law — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that no violation had occurred.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that they were having problems with a guest at a local motel. Before officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that someone keeps calling his place of work and making up false complaints about him. The incident was documented.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an open door — Officer located an open door on a business that was closed for the day. The owner of the business was contacted who secured the door.

Report of found drug paraphernalia — Reporting party stated that she had located several items in a parking lot that appeared to be drug paraphernalia. The items were collected and destroyed.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a dog at large — Officer located the dog and it was contained in its yard. Officer attempted to contact the owner, but he was not home.

Report of missing juveniles — Reporting party stated that several juveniles did not get on the school bus after school. The juveniles were located and were fine.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that he purchased a vehicle from an individual and recently the individual came and moved the car. Contact was made with the parties involved who made arraignment to have the proper paper work completed to show ownership of the vehicle.

Report of an agency assist — Officer reported that while patrolling the Ely area he located a vehicle which was unlocked and had its lights on. The responsible party for the vehicle was contacted and advised of the problem.
