After graduating with honors from Great Basin College last May, Lisa Harrison is now receiving a new kind of honor, being named the Learning Bridge Charter School Focus Teacher of the Month.

Harrison, now a first grade teacher at the charter school, has already earned high praise from Julie Krch, Learning Bridge’s Chairman of the Board of Directors.

“Ms. Harrison is deeply dedicated, considerate, conscientious, gentle, soft-spoken and is a natural teacher and leader. She has taken the lead in numerous activities throughout the year,” Krch said.

Harrison took on the assignment of teaching the Chinese language to her first grade students when she first joined the school’s staff in 2014. Since then, according to Krch, she has become the “go-to person” concerning the instruction of the complex foreign language.

“She didn’t skip a beat and was able to begin teaching this difficult language with limited resources,” Krch continued. “She is making a tremendous difference with each child she teaches. Learning Bridge is extremely proud to have the opportunity to work with such an exemplary professional. She continues to inspire all of us.”
