MAY 6

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Becky R. Lewis age 62 of Ely was arrested for failure to drive within marked lanes, D.U.I., possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine.

Report of found bones — Reporting party stated that she had located some bones near US 6. Officer reported that the bones were examined and found to be that of an animal.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen a generator that he owns.. Investigation continues.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of an alarm — false alarm.

Report of an accident — Travis Ferch of Round Mountain, NV was operating a vehicle on US 50 when he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. An accident report was completed.

Report of an accident — Gary Weer of Deer Lodge MT was operating a vehicle exiting off Bristlecone Drive. Mary Sorenson of Ruth was operating a vehicle traveling on Great Basin Blvd. Weer failed to yield to Sorenson causing an accident. Weer was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way. An accident report was completed.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that it had been a verbal argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a suicidal subject — Officer contacted the individual and she was taken to E.R. for medical assistance.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a possible drunk driver — Officer located the vehicle which was parked and unoccupied.

Report of a welfare check — Officer attempted to contact the individuals at the home, but was unsuccessful.

Report of a garbage problem — Officer contacted the occupant of the home and advised her to clean up and remove the trash.

Report of a found backpack — The item was placed into lost and found.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Laurel A. Hughes age 24 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Dustin D. Faris age 23 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that an individual had made a comment about blowing up a building. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Guy F. Taber age 44 of Henderson, NV was arrested for littering and D.U.I

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that they had been involved in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the day.

Report of shots fired — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

MAY 9

Report of a disturbance — Officer received a report of an individual knocking on peoples doors causing a disturbance. Officer located the individual and identified him as Brian S. Boots age 40 of Ely. During the officers investigation Boots was found to be in possession of a handgun while intoxicated. He was also arrested for a prohibited person in possession of a handgun. Officers later reported that the firearm had been stolen. Boot was also charged with possession of stolen property, grand larceny, and burglary.

Report of a music disturbance — The area was patrolled, but the disturbance wasn’t located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that no problems were located. One of the parties requested assistance in finding another place to stay. Assistance was provided.

Report of a suicidal subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was attempting to harm himself. The individual was taken to E.R. for medical assistance.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of sink hole — Officer reported that a large sink hole was located in an alleyway. The City of Ely was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of an ATV disturbance — The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

Report of a sheep problem — Reporting party stated that several of his sheep had wandered onto another’s property. When he sent his worker to get the sheep they weren’t allowed onto the property. Officer contacted the property owner who advised when the sheep are located the owner of the sheep will be notified.

Report of an accident/ private property — Danny Webb was operating a vehicle and struck a light pole in a private parking lot, causing damage to the pole and his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Angel Gomez age 33 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

MAY 10

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jared C. Trujillo age 25 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had occurred. The parties involved separated for the day.

Report of an alarm — Officer reported that an open door was located on the closed business. The business was checked and the door secured.

Report of a dog problem — Report was given to Ely Animal Control.

Report of a stolen vehicle — Reporting party stated that several individuals had stolen his vehicle while he was stopped at an intersection. During the officers investigation the reporting party became violent towards the officers. The reporting party was then arrested. He was identified as Michael Tinker age 57 of Pendleton, OR. He was arrested for disturbing the peace and intimidating an officer. Officer reported that his vehicle was located parked in a local parking lot.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop Kenneth Johnson age 56 of Ely was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is accused of possessing over 26 grams of methamphetamine.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles breaking bottles in the roadway. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

MAY 11

Report of a suicidal subject — Officer reported that the individual was contacted and taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had damaged one of the toilets at Steptoe Park. The incident was documented.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her dog. Officer reported that the dog had escaped from its enclosure. The dog later returned home.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen money from her wallet.  During the officers investigation it was determined that the money was not stolen, but had been used by the reporting party.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had thrown eggs at his home. The incident was documented.

Report of a found wallet — The owner of the wallet was contacted and the item returned.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that while he was helping a friend move one of the individuals involve threatened him with a gun. Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statement.  Investigation continues.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — Officer located the individual and she was walking home. No problems were reported.

MAY 12

Report of a fire — Officer reported that he observed a large amount of smoke coming from a local motel room. Officer contacted the occupant of the room who had fallen asleep and left and item cooking on the stove.

Report of a vehicle problem — Reporting party stated that a truck was hauling cars on a trailer and one of the cars on the trailer had a door open. Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and advised him of the problem.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual loitering around a local school waving at the children. Officer contacted the individual and advised him not to loiter around the school area.

Report of a truancy — Officer reported that the student was issued a citation for truancy and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of an agency assist — Officer reported that a sexual assault had occurred in another jurisdiction, but the victim of the assault was living in the Ely area. Officers are assisting with the investigation.

Report of an accident — Report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a domestic battery — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation Stacey Carrico age 53 of Ely was arrested. Carrico was arrested for domestic battery strangulation, false imprisonment, and child endangerment. She is accused of battering her girlfriend by strangling her and not allowing her to leave the residence.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his neighbor was moving several cars into his yard and when he did so he damaged some of his property. The neighbor was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was posting rude comments about him on Face Book. The reporting party was advised to obtain a harassment order.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over child custody. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicles involved were not located.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted one of the parties involved who stated that he had been arguing with his girlfriend. The girlfriend had left the area.
