MAY 20

Report of an injured animal — Report was given to N.D.O.W.

Report of a scam — Reporting party stated that he allowed access to his computer to a company located in India. His computer had reported that it had a virus and to contact the number provided. The reporting party paid money to the company and allowed them to access his computer. They were now requesting more money from him. He was advised it was a scam and to change all his password related to his computer.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that he were fine.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that she had purchased a vehicle from a local resident, but the resident would not provide her the title. She was advised on how to apply for a lost title and to pursue the matter civilly.

Report of an open door — Officer reported that he located an open door on a close business. The business was checked and the door secured.

MAY 21

Report of an open door — A door was reported open on a vacant residence.  Deputies checked the residence and secured the door.

Problem with subject — The reporting party, the manager of a local hotel, complained that a subject came into establishment and disturbed the peace.  The subject was gone when officers arrived.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

Report of a public nuisance —After receiving complaints of excessive trash, several residents of a mobile home park were given notice to clean their respective areas, as was the owner of the property.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Contact was made with both parties, who both claimed they were only arguing.  Both parties separated.

Report of a juvenile problem — The administrator of a local school claimed a student became defiant and ran away from school.  Contact was made with the student’s parent.  A report was completed and will be forwarded to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a barking dog — A dog was reportedly barking, annoying the reporting party.  A deputy checked the area, but there was no barking dog.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog and reported that the owner will be issued a citation when located.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was located and was fine.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had broken the window out on her vehicle and stolen several items. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident — Luciano Echegaray of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Great Basin Blvd. Tanya M. Kelly of Ely was operating a vehicle entering onto Great Basin Blvd from Ave M. Kelly failed to yield to Echegaray causing an accident. Kelly was issued a citation for failure to yield and an accident report was completed.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a welfare check — Officer reported that the residence was checked, but the individual was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer contacted one of the parties involved who stated that they had recently terminated an employee and the employee was causing problems. The ex- employee was contacted and advised to keep the peace.

Report of a found wallet — The owner of the wallet will be contacted.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that no problems were located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Robert J. Ramirez age 36 of Ely was arrested for a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ex-felon failure to register.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Devin Bishop age 24 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual had entered into his place of business and damaged some of the items in the store. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident — Officer located a vehicle that had been involved in an accident, but the operator had fled the scene. Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted one of the parties involved who stated that she had a verbal argument with her boyfriend. The parties involved had already separated.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that while he was eating at a local restaurant he left his money on the table to use the restroom. When he returned someone had stolen his money. Investigation continues.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that while he was out of the Ely area someone had entered into his home and stole several items.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend was knocking on her door. The area was patrolled, but the ex-boyfriend was not located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that they provided conflicting statement. The parties involved were advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was causing a disturbance at a local bar. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the bar. He complied.

Report of a reckless driver — The vehicle was located parked and unoccupied.

Report of an accident/ private property — Stevon L. Culver of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a vehicle that had driven behind him being operated by William J. Phipps of Sparks, NV. Culvers vehicle struck Phipps vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer contacted the individual who was trying to visit his children. The individual was advised to stay away from the reporting party and to proceed through the court system to obtain visitation rights.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Diangelo Hirales age 20 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Nickolas Betlach age 25 of Ruth was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an accident — Edward Mjelde of Vista, CA was operating on vehicle on US 93 when he struck an unknown animal causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of suspicious activity — During the officer’s investigation Benjamin D. Bender age 36 of Ely was arrested for disturbing the peace, possession of a hypodermic device and possession of methamphetamine

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Holly M. Bare age 31 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — Officer contacted the individual who was lying next to a local business. Officer reported that the female made her way home.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had broken a window on his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a welfare check — Officer reported that the individual was not located.

Report of a music disturbance — The area was patrolled, but the disturbance was not located.

Report of an accident — Officer patrolled the area, but no accident was located.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported that the operator Keith A. Hill age 21 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he rented a room to an individual and now there were now numerous people in the room. Officer contacted the individuals and trespassed all the extras.

MAY 25

Report of a found drivers license — The license will be returned to the owner.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had attempted to gain access to their home by prying on a window. The window broke during this attempt. Entry into the home was not made. The incident was documented.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that a window on her vehicle had been broken. During the officers investigation it was determined that the window had broken due to heat. No crime had occurred.

Report of a dog problem — Officer reported that a large dog had escaped from its enclosed area. The owner of the dog was advised and contained the dog.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an employee where she works has made threats towards her. Officer contacted the employee who apologized for his behavior. The incident was documented.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that he was fine.

Report of unattended children — Officer contacted the parents of the children who advised they thought they were being picked up by the other. The incident was documented.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog, but the owner was not at home. The owner will be contacted at a later date.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that her landlord was going to turn off her power. The landlord was contacted who stated that he is in the process of evicting the reporting party.  The incident was classified as civil.

Report of a deer in the roadway — The deer was deceased and it was removed from the area.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer contacted two individuals who were riding their motorcycles in a recklessly. They were advised of the complaint.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a lost fanny pack — Reporting party stated that he had left his fanny pack at a rest stop restroom and when he returned to retrieve it, it was gone. The incident was documented.

Report of threats — Officer contacted the parties involved who had sent threatening text messages to each other. They were advised to stop their contact with each other.

Report of a lost cell phone — The incident was documented.

Report of a citizens assist — Officer assisted an individual who needed to be paced into a wheelchair to gain access to his home.

Report of possible animal abuse — Reporting party stated that someone has been cutting her horses tails. Officer inspected the horses and reported that it appeared the horses had been chewing on each other’s tails.

Report of suspicious activity — Reporting party stated that someone had thrown coal onto her property. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that Teheal S. Hart age 33 of Ely was arrested. Hart was arrested for domestic battery strangulation, interruption of a communication device, and child endangerment. She is accused of battering several family member and not allowing one of them to use a phone to call the Sheriff’s Office.
