Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are released by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

JUNE 3

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and required medical attention.  An ambulance was dispatched and transported the subject to the hospital.

Report of a juvenile problem — Three juveniles were reportedly walking in the roadway on the highway.  The subjects were located and identified as 24 year old John Anthony Gomez Jr, 20 year old Benjamin Anderson Miller, and 19 year old Michael Gamberg, all of Ely.  All three subjects had been drinking alcohol. Gomez was arrested for furnishing alcohol to a minor and Miller and Gamberg were arrested for minor in consumption of alcohol.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party received several letters from a male subject that were suspicious in nature.  A report was completed.

Report of a battery — The reporting party claimed her young son had been battered by an older child.  The investigation continues.

Other agency assist — Deputies assisted Juvenile Probation with drug and alcohol testing of probationary juveniles.  Two of the juveniles were found to have been consuming alcohol.  One was released to his guardian and the other was transported to the Elko Juvenile Detention Facility by Probation Officers.

Report of a hit and run — The reporting party claimed someone struck their vehicle at an unknown time and location.  A report was completed.

Report of a juvenile problem — The reporting party complained about juveniles creating a disturbance riding their ATVs near his home. The reporting party only wanted it on report in case of further problems.

Report of threats — Several neighbors got into an argument over each other’s behavior.  All parties were advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a juvenile fight — Deputies made contact with several juveniles who advised they weren’t fighting, but were only wrestling.

Report of elderly abuse — A deputy investigated a report of a male subject pointing a gun at two of his family members, both of which are over the age of sixty.  The male also reportedly used force or violence against the two family members.  The suspect was identified as 51 year old Ely resident Robert Hugh Mayo Miller.  Miller was later arrested for elder abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, and false imprisonment.

Report of an intoxicated subject — A female was reportedly intoxicated and attempting to get into various parked cars.  The subject was located and denied any wrong doing.  The subject was able to walk home.

Report of a juvenile problem — Three juveniles were reportedly walking down the road with airsoft guns and the reporting party was afraid they were going to shoot some birds.  The kids were contacted and advised where to properly point the guns.

Report of a battery — The reporting party claimed to be having a conversation with two other subjects when one of the subjects got upset and battered her.  After the investigation, the reporting party was allowed to sign a citizen’s complaint against the offender, identified as Cynthia Throm, of Las Vegas.

JUNE 4

Report of found property — The reporting party discovered explosive pyrotechnic devices used for aesthetic, cultural, and religious purposes.  They were turned in for disposal.

Report of fraud — The reporting party received a phone call from a subject claiming to be from the IRS demanding money.  The reporting party knew the call was fraudulent, but requested a report be made.

Report of a reckless driver — The suspected vehicle was located, and was found to be driving within the confines of the law.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and was fine.

Report of a fight — It was discovered two family members were arguing.  Both parties were separated.

Report of a theft — Two subjects allegedly took items from a business without paying.  Prior to law enforcement arrival, the subjects had returned and paid for the items taken.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Two vehicles were loitering behind an untenanted building and then sped away.  The area was checked, but officers were unable to locate the vehicles.

Report of a juvenile problem — One juvenile claimed to have been battered by another juvenile.  The suspect admitted battering the victim.  A report was completed and will be submitted to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The reporting party, a business owner, reported a vehicle abandoned in his parking lot.  He was advised on the procedure of removing the vehicle from private property.

Report of property damage — The reporting party observed his neighbor’s vehicle window had been broken.  A report was completed.

Report of a TPO violation — Deputies determine the temporary protection order had not been violated.

Report of a fight — Deputies learned a male subject tried to start a fight with another male while in a local tavern.  The suspect was later trespassed from the business.

New bookings — Meldon Marcus Mike / Serving time for Ely Municipal Court. Mary Gault / Under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and probation violation / Bail $15,000 / Arrested by the Eastern Nevada Narcotics Task Force.

JUNE 5

Report of an intoxicated person in the roadway — Officer located an individual who was walking on a highway intoxicated. The individual was identified as Kyle P. Hannig age 28 of Ely. Hannig was arrested for intoxicated person in a roadway.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that a juvenile had entered into her place of employment, stole an item than ran from the store. The juvenile was located, the item returned to the store and the juvenile was released to his father.

Report of an illegally parked vehicle — The vehicle was tagged for removal.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that several juveniles were looking in windows of closed businesses. Officers contacted the juveniles who denied the allegation. They were advised to stay away from the stores.

Report of possible burglary — Officer checked the residence and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the owner of the residence who was entertaining a party. He was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the occupants at the residence where the fight was reported. The occupants denied the allegation. They were advised to keep the peace.

JUNE 6

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of an ambulance assist — Officer reported that when they arrived on scene they located an unresponsive male. CPR was performed and the individual was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles riding their bikes in the roadway. The juveniles were contacted and advised to stay out of the road.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who had rented a local motel room and was refusing to pay for the room. Officer contacted the parties involved and the situation was resolved.

JUNE 7

Report of dog problem — Officer received a report of a dog at large and it was acting aggressive. The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted medical staff at the hospital with a patient that had become combative.

Report of an injured subject — Officer assisted the ambulance with an individual who had crashed his four wheeler and had sustained injuries in the accident. The individual was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a dog problem — Officer reported that a dog at large was placed into the dog pound.

Report of a welfare check — The children were checked on and were fine.

JUNE 8

Report of an intoxicated person — Officer received a report of an intoxicated person who had fallen asleep in a public restroom. The individual was woken up and advised to leave the area.

Report of a welfare check / arrest — Officer reported that a welfare check was conducted on an individual identified as Mark D. Hoff age 54 of Ely. During the check Hoff was arrested for ex-felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Report of a dog problem — Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised her of the barking dog complaint. She stated that she would attempt to stop the dog from barking.

Report of a illegally parked vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and it was tagged for removal.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that due to problems he was having with an individual he wanted her trespassed from his business properties. The individual was contacted and advised.

Report of an intoxicated person in the roadway — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicles were not located.

Report of a public nuisance — Officer contacted the individual and advised him that the garbage needed to be removed.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted two individuals who were intoxicated and causing a disturbance. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles causing a disturbance. The juveniles were contacted and advised to keep the noise down.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of a juvenile who was throwing rocks at her shed. The juvenile and his parent were contacted and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles riding skateboards in traffic. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Bennie Reilley age 34 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I. and basic speed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was banging on a door to a residence. Reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend was trying to enter her home. The ex-boyfriend was contacted and trespassed from the property.

New bookings — Mark D. Hoff / Ex-felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia/ bail $40,000. Bennie Reilley / D.U.I. and basic speed / Bail $965.

JUNE 9

Report of a dog problem — Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised her of the barking dog complaint.

Report of a scam — Reporting party stated that he received a telephone call from an individual claiming that he was a wanted man for check fraud. Reporting party was advised it was a scam and to discontinue any contact with the caller.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an accident / private property — John Trujillo of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a vehicle being operated by Ryan Kalleres of Ely. Trujillo’s vehicle struck Kalleres vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that someone had struck her vehicle. The striking vehicle then fled the scene. Investigation continues.
