Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

JULY 1

Report of a barking dog — Officer contacted the owner of the dogs and advised him of the problem. He stated that he would take measures to insure the dogs stop barking.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party wanted an individual trespassed from a property that she manages. The individual will be trespassed when located.

Report of a parking problem — Officer received a report of a vehicle blocking the roadway. When officers arrived to the area the vehicle had been removed.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of juveniles climbing on peoples cars. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

JULY 2

Report of a disturbance — Officer received a report of loud music coming from a vehicle. The area was patrolled, but the disturbance was not located.

Report of a found phone — The phone was placed into lost and found.

Report of custody problem — Reporting party stated that he was to get his child for visitations, but the child’s mother was refusing to provide the child. Officer contacted the parties involved and the situation was resolved.

Report of a dog at large — Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised her to keep it contained.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic disturbance that was taking place. Officer contacted the individuals who were engaged in a verbal argument. The parties agreed to separate for the day.

Report of a disturbance — Officer assisted with a patient at a local care facility that was causing a disturbance. He was taken to the E.R. by ambulance.

JULY 3

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officers assisted Ely Tribal on the call. The call was handled by Ely Tribal Police.

Report of a welfare check — The person was contacted and was fine.

Report of a business license violation — Officer received a report of a person going door to door selling items. The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

Report of a parking problem — Officer contacted the owner of the vehicles and they were removed from the private business lot.

Report of a dog being left in a vehicle — Officer contacted the owner of the dogs and he advised he was taking them home.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was soliciting money. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that someone has been messing around with her animals. The person the reporting party suspected was contacted who denied the allegation.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of lost items — Reporting party stated that she left some jewelry at a local motel when she checked out. The motel advised they would look for the items.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Tony A. Whittenburg age 58 of Las Vegas, NV died at a friend’s home in Ely, of natural causes.

Report of an accident/ private property — Wilma Biorn of Ely was operating a vehicle and was pulling into a parking space. As she did so she struck a vehicle belonging to Makayla Dolezal of Ely. An accident report was completed.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop Michael A. Brown age 57 of Ely was arrested for driving suspended and illegal U- Turn. A passenger in the vehicle who was identified as Keith A. Shepherd age 34 of Ely was arrested for open container and possession of marijuana.

Report of an accident — When officers arrived the parties involved requested they handle the situation through the civil process.

Report of a barking dog — The area was patrolled, but the dog was not located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that he observed an individual urinating in a public place. The individual was identified as Peter M. Maistros age 59 of Ely. He was arrested for lewd and lascivious conduct

JULY 4

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an intoxicated person causing a problem at a local bar. The individual was escorted out of the bar by the owner.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an intoxicated subject who had struck the bartended at a local bar. Officer reported that individual was identified as Sonja Henderson of Ely. She was issued a citation for battery.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that he observed an individual urinating in a public place. The individual was identified as Justin S. Farris age 27 of Idaho Falls. He was arrested for lewd and lascivious conduct

Report of problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an intoxicated person causing a disturbance at a local business. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the area.

Report of problem with a subject — Officer contacted the person who was in need of medical assistance. He was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he had an argument with an individual who was parking in front of his residence and when the individual drove off he ran over his foot. All the parties involved were contacted and the incident was documented.

Report of a fire — The report was given to Ely BLM.

Report a missing person — Officer received a report of an individual who had left his work several weeks ago to go hiking in the White Pine County area. Officer investigated the incident and reported that the individual might be in Colorado. A report was taken.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and advised him of the complaint. A warning was issued.

Report of a found dog — The dog was reunited with his owner.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. The girlfriend then left the residence with a friend.

Report of illegal fireworks— Officers responded to 12 illegal fireworks calls. Officers reported that the fireworks were seized and several citations were issued.

JULY 5

Report of a child riding a bike on the roadway — Officer located the individual who was an adult. She was provided assistance to the Ely area.

Report of an accident — Jose Aispuro was operating a vehicle on US 6 when he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Brittney J. Valdez age 20 of Ely was arrested on a District Court warrant.

Report of an accident — Anthony W. Delgrande of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. Delgrande stated that a tire failed on his vehicle causing him to lose control striking a vehicle being operated by Ruth Speckler of Twin Falls ID. Delgrande’s vehicle then traveled through a fence and struck a home. An accident report was completed and the investigation into the incident continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer contacted the parties involved who were having a disagreement over visitation of a child. The welfare of the child was observed and the parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a found wallet — The owner of the wallet was contacted and it will be returned.

Report of a found item — Reporting party found a syringe in a city gutter. The item was collected and disposed of.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over the custody of children. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of a theft — Officer received a report of an individual who had removed property from a local store without paying for the item. The individual was identified as Justin K. Blakeley of Ely. He was issued a citation of petit larceny.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Matthew S. Bennett age 29 of Aurora, CO was arrested for operating an OHV on a roadway, failure to stop at stop sign, and D.U.I.

Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that an individual riding a bike hit his car causing damage. Officer contacted the parties involved and a report was completed.

Report of a dog problem — Officer contacted the dog sitter and advised her of the problem. The dog sitter was attempting to catch the dog which had escaped from the yard.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of juveniles being pulled by a vehicle while they were riding a bike. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles involved were not located.

JULY 6

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Russell L. Bainbridge age 25 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an injured cat — Animal control took custody of the cat.

Report of a dog at large — Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised her of the problem. The owner was advised to keep the dog contained.

Report of an accident — Derry Kintzler of Sun Valley, NV was operating a vehicle on US 50 when he struck several deer causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a welfare check — Officer checked the residence and reported that no one was home.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Arden G. Garlick age 65 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a dog problem — Officer located the barking dog, but the owner was not at home. Contact with the owner will be made at a later date.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. The parties separated for the night.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Brandy Martinez age 31 of McGill was arrested on a warrant out of New River Township Court, Elko NV.

Report of found keys — The keys were placed into lost and found.

Report of a person driving without a license — Officer located the vehicle and issued a citation to the driver.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that a laptop computer had been stolen from friend home. During the investigation the owner had given permission for the individual to take the computer.

Report of a dog at large — The area was patrolled, but the dog was not located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. The parties separated for the night.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that during his investigation Sarah Corkum age 25 of Ruth was arrested. Corkum was arrested for disturbing the peace and obstructing a police officer.

Report of a sexual assault — Reporting party stated that she had met a person on Craigs List and while traveling through the Ely area he sexually assaulted her. Investigation continues.
