AUG. 26

Report of a possible problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he loaned a friend his backhoe a long time ago and now wants it returned. Reporting party believes it might not be in working order. The incident was documented

Report of a stolen trailer —Reporting party stated that an ex-employee of his stole his trailer. Officer spoke to the ex-employee over the phone who stated that she had the trailer. She stated that she had borrowed it and is retuning it this coming week. Investigation continues.

Report of a fire — Report given to Ely BLM.

Report of a possible drunk driver — Officer located the vehicle which was parked and unoccupied.

Report of a fire — The report was given to Ely BLM.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the occupant of the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his cell phone. The incident was documented.

AUG. 27

Report of a possible intoxicated driver — The area was checked, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of fraud — The reporting party received a call from someone claiming to be the IRS and demanding personal identifying information, which the reporting party provided.  She later realized the call was not from the IRS.  She was advised to keep a close watch on her credit and bank accounts.

Report of an unattended death — 62-year-old Rhonda Lucero of McGill passed away due to natural causes.

Report of a property accident — The reporting party claimed someone hit her vehicle, but she didn’t want a report.  She was only concerned for the other driver, who is elderly and possibly without a license.  Contact was made with the other driver, who appeared to be unable to drive.  The driver was picked up by a family member and taken home.  A report was submitted to DMV for a retest for the driver.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed to have gotten into an argument with another subject at a local business.  The other party was contacted and claimed the reporting party started the argument for no reason.  Both parties advised to avoid contact with each other.

Report of harassment — The reporting party claims to be receiving harassing text messages from another person.  They were allowed to sign a citizen’s complaint, which will be issued on the suspect when located.

Report of an unattended death — 65-year-old LD Crawford, of McGill, died due to natural causes.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was not located.

Report of a dog problem — Contact was made with the suspects, who advised they would take care of the problem.

Report of a juvenile problem — A juvenile was reportedly throwing rocks at a house.  The juvenile was located and denied throwing the rocks.

Report of a bad check — The reporting party received a check from a subject which was returned for non-sufficient funds.  A report was completed and forwarded to the DA’s Office.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed a subject was living in a trailer on his property without permission.  The male will be trespassed from the property when located.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed a male juvenile kept harassing her minor daughter.  Contact to be made with the juvenile when located.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed a woman was breaking windows in a trailer and screaming.  Contact was made with the woman, who was later claimed she wanted to kill herself.  The woman was transported to the hospital.

Report of an arrest — An officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, identified as 39 year old Justin Welch, of Ely.  Welch was later arrested for driving with a revoked driver’s license.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed her daughter was still being harassed by a male juvenile.  It was discovered they were both contacting each other.  Both parties were advised to cease communicating.

Report of a barking dog — The area was checked, but no dogs were barking.

AUG. 28

Report of an accident — Anastacia T. Wilkin of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on SR490 when she struck a rabbit. The rabbit caused damage to her vehicle. An accident report was completed.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog and will contact the owner when they are home and advise them of the problem.

Report of a disabled vehicle — Officer patrolled the area, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an accident — Barbara Ferguson of Ely was operating a vehicle at the corner of 21st West and 250 North. As she did so she took the turn to wide and struck a vehicle being operated by Daniel A. Brown of Ely. An accident report was completed and Ferguson was issued a citation for failure to maintain lane of travel.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — The vehicle was red tagged for removal.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that a dog had climbed out of a vehicle and was on the hood of the car. The owner arrived and took care of the problem.

Report of an ATV disturbance — The operators were contacted and advised to ride elsewhere.

Report of suspicious subjects — Officer received a report of several people going door to door selling cologne. The area was patrolled, but the individuals were not located.

Report of an attempted theft — Reporting party stated that someone had attempted to steal his four wheeler trailer. The incident was documented.

Report of motorcycle problem — The area was patrolled, but the motorcycles were not located.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that an individual operating a vehicle flashed a white light at her so she pulled her car over. She stated that a female then approached her and advised her she was a police officer. She stated that the person then drove off. The incident was documented.

Report of a water line that was broken — Officer located the water leak and advised it was a sprinkler head that had broken. The owner will be notified.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer contacted the juveniles who were fixing a flat tire. No crime had occurred.

Report of an ATV disturbance — The operators of the ATV were contacted and advised to ride elsewhere.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone was shining flashlights on his property. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Daniel N. Wheeler age 30 of Ely was arrested for DUI, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane of travel.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that he renting a home and he located some dog remains in a box. He was advised to take them to the local landfill.

Report of a loose mule — The mule was contained.

Report of an attempted fraud — Reporting party stated that she received a phone call and the caller was claiming to be from the IRS. The caller wanted the reporting parties’ personal information. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and to never give personal information out over the phone.

Report of a public nuisance — Officer received a report of a lot of garbage accumulating around a local business. Officer contacted the owner and advised him to clean it up.

Report of an accident — The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — The vehicle was tagged for removal.

Report of an accident — When officers arrived on scene it was determined the accident was in Elko County. Elko was notified who responded to the accident.

Report of a domestic battery — Reporting party stated that she had been pushed to the ground by her ex-boyfriend. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Tina Ramirez age 27 of Ely was arrested on a Eureka Justice Court warrant.

Report of a suspicious subject — The individual was contacted who stated that he was waiting for a friend.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the individuals who was advised to turn their music down.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he is receiving unwanted telephone calls from an individual. The caller was contacted and advised to stop calling the reporting party.

AUG. 30

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer received a report of a female running down the roadway threatening to harm herself. The area was patrolled, but she was not located.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that he located blood on his vehicle. Officer reported that there was a red substance placed on the vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had placed graffiti on his box trailer. The incident was documented.

Report of property damage — Officer reported that some of the playground equipment at a local park had been spray painted. Park maintenance was notified.

Report of property damage — Officer located a vehicle in the McGill area that had graffiti placed on it. The owner of the vehicle was notified.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a dog bite — Reporting party stated that while he was cleaning his yard a dog approached him and bit him. The dog then ran off. The reporting party received medical attention at E.R. The dog was not located.

Report of a possible theft — Officer received a report of an individual breaking into a building. When officers arrived they made contact with an individual who had permission to be in the building.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had cut his fence to gain access to his property. The incident was documented.

AUG. 31

Report of a juvenile problem — The reporting party claimed her juvenile daughter had left school with her boyfriend, without permission.  Contact was made with the daughter, who returned to school.

Report of an arrest — 24 year old McGill resident Seth James Pierce was arrested on an outstanding Municipal court warrant.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM:

City – the reporting party claimed a neighbor’s dog was running at large and chased him.  Contact was made with the neighbor, who apologized for their dog escaping.

REPORT OF HARASSMENT:

City – the reporting party claimed he was harassed by his ex-girlfriend.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROPERTY ACCIDENT:

City – James Hollinger, of Ely, was stopped at a stop sign, when his vehicle was struck from behind by Vicki Jackson, of McGill.  Jackson was issued a citation for following too closely.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM:

The reporting party claimed a neighbor’s dog had attacked his dog and also bit him.  Contact was made with the owner of the dog, identified as Rosemary Medina, of Ely. Medina claimed the dog escaped after someone left the gate open. Medina was issued a citation for an unlicensed dog.

REPORT OF A SEXUAL ASSAULT:

City – the reporting party claimed to have been sexually assaulted by an acquaintance.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM:

The reporting party claimed several dogs had been harassing her livestock.  She was allowed to sign a citizen’s complaint, which will be served on the owner of the dogs when located.

REPORT OF AN ARREST:

City – 25 year old Ely resident Russell Lee Bainbridge was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Municipal Court.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT:

City – it was discovered that the reporting party and the alleged subject were involved in an argument.  Both parties agreed to separate for the night.

SEPT. 1

Report of an accident — Katherine Miller of McGill was operating a vehicle on Aultman Street. Miller was making a turn onto 13th Street and failed to yield to a vehicle being operated by Justin Williams of Ely. Miller’s vehicle struck Williams vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Miller was cited for failure to yield.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of a small child walking to school and the reporting party was concerned for his safety. The area was patrolled, but the child was not located.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of a small child standing next to the roadway. The area was patrolled, but the child was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual had come to her home demanding money for a work he had done to the residence. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that a customer returned several items to her store and the clerk refunded the money. The reporting party advised the returned items weren’t from her store. The reporting party was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted DCFS on a home visit.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he had the bathrooms to his business closed due to maintenance. A female subject attempted to go into the bathroom and when she noticed they were closed urinated on his property. The area was patrolled, but the female was not located.

Report of threats — reporting party stated that he is receiving threats through text messages. The sender of the messages was contacted and advised to stop his contact with the reporting party.

Report of possible drug use — The report was given to the Task Force.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — Officer reported that the vehicle is parked on private property. The owner of the property was advised he could have it removed.

Report of a disturbance — Reporting party stated that several individuals came to her home accusing her of stealing an item. When officers arrived the individuals had left the area.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that her debit card had been stolen and used at a local business. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her child is being called names by another student while riding the school bus. A report was completed and the reporting party was advised to notify the proper school authorities.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The area was patrolled, but no vehicle was located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that James O. Biggs age 58 of Ely was arrested for DUI.
