SEPT. 9

Report of a trespasser — The reporting party, an employee of a local convenience store, complained about a patron who was harassing her after being told he could not return to the store.  The subject was gone when law enforcement arrived.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party believed someone was attempting to sell his property. The report was unfounded.

Report of theft — The reporting party claimed a subject was stealing from a utility.  Contact was made with the subject, who did admit stealing from the utility.  Contact to be made with the utility to verify if they wish to sign a citizen’s complaint.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — The reporting party claimed a vehicle had been abandoned on private property.  It was later learned the owner of the property gave the owner of the vehicle permission to park.

Report of an unattended death — 73 year old John Forman, of Ely, died at his home due to natural causes.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and although intoxicated, claimed to be fine.

Report of a trespasser — The reporting party claimed someone was camping on his property.  It was later discovered to be a civil disagreement involving the reporting party being evicted from the property.

Report of a music disturbance — The area was patrolled, but no music was heard.

Report of a private property accident — Carl Brotherton was backing from a parked position in a private parking lot, when he struck a vehicle operated by Tyson Pearce.  A report was completed.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The reporting party observed a vehicle parked on her property.  The owner of the vehicle was contacted and moved the vehicle.

Report of a barking dog — The reporting party signed a complaint for barking dog.  The citation was served on the dog’s owner, identified as Christina Harmon.

Report of a juvenile problem — The reporting party claimed a juvenile she has guardianship over has not returned home. Officers attempted to locate the subject, but were unsuccessful.

SEPT. 10

Report of a trespasser — The reporting party claimed a subject came into her workplace and was harassing her after he was previously trespassed from the property.  The male subject was later located and advised not to return to the property.

Report of fraud — The reporting party claimed an unknown person purchased goods and services using her debit card.  A report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed a male made lewd comments toward her and she believed he later was watching her while she was home.  The investigation continues.

Report of injury to property — The reporting party claimed a vehicle passed him and caused a rock to chip his windshield on his vehicle.

Report of harassment — The reporting party claimed to have found a sexually explicit note on his mailbox from an unknown subject.  A report was completed.

Report of a theft — The reporting party believed someone stole some of her flora.  She later reported that she may have given them away and forgot.

Report of a civil problem — The reporting party claimed to be a landlord of a home, and the tenant currently staying in the home was causing damage to the home.  The reporting party was explained the eviction process.

Report of a music disturbance — The loud music was located and the responsible party was advised to turn it down, which he complied.

Report of threats — The reporting party claimed to have been threatened by another subject.  A report was completed.

Report of trespassers — The alleged subjects were gone when officers arrived.

Report of an accident — Debbie Ashby was stopped for a pedestrian, when her vehicle was struck from behind by Nathan Hall.  Hall was issued a citation for following too closely.

Report of harassment — The reporting party claimed to be harassed by two subjects.  The subjects were contacted and advised to cease their behavior.

New bookings — Dawna Cain / Possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of a drug / Bail $15,000 / Arrested by the Department of Public Safety – Investigations. Samantha Jones / Basic speed, driving without a valid license, and furnishing false information to a peace officer / Bail $700 / Arrested by Nevada Highway Patrol.

SEPT. 11

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of an injured deer — Officer located the deer and reported that no injuries were observed.

Report of a lost person — The information was provided to Search and Rescue who contacted the lost individual and gave him directions he needed.

Report of a sexual assault — Officer attempted to contact the reporting party several times, but the reporting party was not at home.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that they wanted a person trespassed from his properties due to past problems. The individual was contacted and advised.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party was traveling through the Ely area and she got into an argument with her traveling companion. The parties involved were contacted and they separated without incident.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that his office was threatened by an individual over the payment of a bill. The incident was documented.

Report of a parking problem — The owners of the vehicles were contacted and advised to remove them.

Report of an ATV disturbance — The area was patrolled, but the ATV”S were not located.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle who was having mechanical problems. No crime had occurred.

Report of a private property accident — David Hillis of San Tan Valley, AZ was operating a vehicle and was driving under an awning at a local business. The vehicle struck the awning causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of an injured dog — Officer reported that the owner of the dog was already providing care for it.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that a juvenile whom she cares for left her residence without permission. The area was patrolled, but the juvenile was not located.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted who was fine. No assistance was requested.

Report of a welfare check — Officer patrolled the area, but the person was not located.

Report of a barking dog — The area was patrolled, but the barking dog was not located.

Report of a found syringe — The syringe was collected and disposed of.

Report of an oil spill — Officer contacted the individual who was changing the oil on his vehicle. The oil that he spilled while doing so was already cleaned up.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of a small child walking next to the roadway. The area was patrolled, but the child was not located.

Report of a missing person — The individual was located.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that she was receiving threats from the father of her children. The incident was investigated and documented.

Report of a found bicycle — The bike was placed into lost and found.

Report of an argument — The parties involved were contacted and they separated for the night.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that several individuals were shooting her car with BB Guns. Officer contacted the individuals who were shooting the car with air soft guns. During the officers investigation one of the individuals was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. He was issued citations for both.

Report of a verbal argument — The parties involved were contacted who separated for the night.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that there were lights on in a vacant home. The home was checked and found to be secured.

Report of a custody problem — Officer contacted the reporting party and advised legal information was provided.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of suspicious activity — Officer contacted the reporting party who believed someone was on his property. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a private property accident — Jose G. Torres of Twin Falls, ID was backing up a vehicle and struck a parked car belonging to Juan G. Iribe of Ely. An accident report was completed.

SEPT. 13

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles walking down the roadway. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

Report of a death — Officer received a report of an individual who had shot himself. During the officers investigation it was determined that Phillip L. Henry age 74 of Ely took his own life

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the children and their mother and reported that they were fine.

Report of a theft — Officer received a report of a theft that had occurred at a local residence. Officer reported that the property in question was going through probate and that a family member had broken into the home and removed several items. Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the responsible party who was clearing some property. He was advised of the dust problem.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had gotten into a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the day.

Report of an attempt to locate — Officer received a report of an individual who was passing through the Ely area and had made threats to harm herself. Officer located the individual at a local motel and she was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the occupant of the home who had his TV too loud. He was advised to turn the volume down.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that earlier in the day he had been struck by an unknown individual. Officer reported that the reporting party was unable to provide any more information.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of a juvenile who was abusing his younger sibling and also using controlled substances. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual loitering around a local casino. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a fire — The report was given to Ely BLM.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had gained access to her credit card number and had made several purchases. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK

City — officer checked the home and reported that no one was home.

REPORT OF BARKING DOGS

City — reporting party stated that his neighbor’s dogs are constantly barking. Officer is attempting to contact the owner of the dogs and advise him of the problem.

REPORT OF A GAOT PROBLEM

City — reporting party stated that her neighbor’s goats are in her yard. Officer attempted to contact the owner of the goats, but he was not at home. Officer caught the goats and placed them back into their pen.

REPORT OF A POACHED DEER

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK

City — officer contacted the occupants of the home and advised it was unkept. Due to small children in the home DCFS was contacted and will follow up with a home visit.

REPORT OF AN ATL

Officer received a report of a missing person out of the state of Utah. The area where the person might be located was patrolled, but he was not in the area.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — reporting party stated that his landlord keeps harassing him over rent. The landlord was contacted and advised to stop harassing the reporting party and to go through the proper eviction process.

REPORT OF A CIVIL STAND BY

City — officer assisted management staff at a local business while an ex-employee removed his property. No problems were reported.

REPORT OF THREATS

Reporting party stated that several children had been threatened by an individual in the neighborhood. The individual was contacted who stated that she only told the children to stay off her property. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE DRUG USE

City — the information was given to the Eastern Nevada Narcotics Task Force.

REPORT OF COWS ON THE ROADWAY

The area was patrolled, but no cows were located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — officer contacted two individuals who were arguing over keys to a vehicle. One of the individuals had taken the keys so the other person wouldn’t drive, due to her intoxication. Officer spoke to the parties involved and worked out the problems.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER

City — reporting party stated that when he returned home he located a male subject hiding in the bedroom with his wife. The male subject was contacted and advised to leave the residence.

REPORT OF A NOISE DISTURBANCE

City — officer received a report of an intoxicated male subject who was being loud. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.
