Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

SEPT. 16

Report of an ATL — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer located the vehicle and reported that no traffic violations were observed.

Report of an accident — Bruno Buffat of Sweden was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. He failed to maintain his lane of travel and struck a vehicle being operated by Andrew St. Aubin of Ely. An accident report was completed.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had gained access to his debit card number and had made several charges with it. The reporting party had already canceled his card and notified his banking establishment.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that he had lost his credit card and when he got his statement there were several purchases on the account that he didn’t make. He was advised to cancel his card and to notify the credit card establishment.

Report of a problem with a subject — When officers contacted the reporting party he was advised that there was no longer a problem, due to the person creating the problem had already left the area.

Report of a dog problem — The report was given to Ely Animal Control.

Report of a custody problem — Officer provided information to the reporting party on Nevada laws referencing child custody.

Report of a dead animal in the roadway — The area was patrolled, but the animal was not located.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individuals and reported that they were fine.

Report of a private property accident — Hailor G. Lam-Lias of Las Vegas was operating a vehicle in a private parking lot. As he did so he was over taking a parked vehicle being operated by Kenneth R. Jadin Jr. of Congress, AZ. As he passed by the parked vehicle he side swiped it causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a propane leak — Officer secured the area and Ely Fire turned off the propane tank.

SEPT. 17

Report of an accident — An unoccupied unregistered vehicle rolled down a hill from private property and struck a structure across the street.  A report was completed.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The vehicle was located and was unoccupied and legally parked.

Report of a dog problem — The reporting party claimed his neighbor’s dogs killed his domestic animals.  The dogs were taken into custody by animal Control.

Report of fraud — The reporting party claimed an unknown person used her credit card in another city without authorization.  A report was completed.

Report of a welfare check — The subjects were contacted and appeared to be fine.

Report of injury to property — The reporting party claimed her landlord, who evicted her, was falsely accusing her of damaging the residence.  She was advised the issue was civil in nature.

Report of an arrest — Sarah Corkum was arrested for an outstanding Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a welfare check — Contact was made with the subject who claimed to be fine.

Report of a theft — The reporting party said some money fell out of her pocket at an unknown time and she couldn’t find it, so someone must have stolen it.  A report was completed.

SEPT. 18

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Ashlee M. Lepak age 22 of Ely was arrested for Failure to stop at a stop sign and D.U.I.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and spoke to the operator who was sleeping. No crime had occurred

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone had left a business card at his ex-wives home .Officer attempted to call the number on the card, but got no answer. The reporting party was advised it possibly could be a scam.

Report of cows on the roadway — The owner of the cows was notified.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted an individual who was hanging out at a local park. No problems were reported.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual who was dumpster diving. He was advised to leave the property.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that a stray dog had gotten into his goat pen. The dog was taken to the dog pound.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted several individuals who were revving up the engines on their vehicles. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of noise disturbance — Officer received a report of an individual having a party and creating a noise disturbance. The person at the home was contacted and advised to keep the peace.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

SEPT. 19

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that he observed lights on in a vacant home. The home was checked and no problems were located.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle. He then left the area.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that she was hearing strange noise like someone trying to get inside a vehicle. The area was patrolled, but no problems were located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into her garage and stole some personal items and tools. Investigation continues.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual who was sleeping in the cemetery. He was advised to leave the area.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was loitering at a local casino. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her renter had moved out, but had left some of their property. The reporting party was advised of the laws reference the incident.

Report of an ATV problem — Officer received a report of several ATV’S being operated down alleyways. The operators were located and their parents were contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of a welfare check — Officer checked the area, but no one was located.

Report of cows on the roadway — The owner of the cows was notified.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party located a stray dog in her yard. The dog was taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

Report of shots fired — Reporting party stated that someone was shooting near his home. The area was patrolled, but no one was located

SEPT. 20

Report of a found wallet — The owner of the wallet was contacted and he will pick it up at the Sheriff’s Office.

Report of a dog problem — Officer received a report of a dog that was tied up, but didn’t have any water. Officer provided water for the dog and is attempting to contact the owner.

Report of a parking problem — Officer reported that the vehicles were located on private property. The owner of the property had the vehicle removed.

Report of a found credit card — The card was returned to the owner.

Report of possible drug activity — The report was given to the Eastern Nevada Narcotics Task Force.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted an individual who had the stereo in his car playing to loud. He was advised to turn it down.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she has been having a problems with an individual and wanted him trespassed from her property. The individual was contacted and advised.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance. The individual was contacted and identified as Joseph E. Creaghe age 29 of Ely. During the officers investigation Creaghe was arrested for breach of peace.

Report of an open door — Officer received a report of a door that was open on a vacant apartment. The apartment was checked and the door secured.

SEPT. 21

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that she had her medication stolen from her motel room. During the officers investigation the medication was located in the reporting party’s vehicle. No crime had occurred.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that he had bought a cell phone and had given it to his girlfriend. He has now broken up with his girlfriend and wanted the cell phone back. He was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of a stolen motorcycle — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into his garage and stole his 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that several individuals were on his property illegally. Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that the ownership of the property is in question and is being settled in court.

Report of a subject walking along a highway — The report was given to the Nevada Highway patrol.

Report of an accident — Trace Cooley a juvenile of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a parked vehicle behind him belonging to Jason Nelson a juvenile of McGill. Cooley’s vehicle struck Nelson’s vehicle causing damage. Cooley was issued a citation for unsafe backing and an accident report was completed.

Report of an accident — Alex Oxborrow of Ely was operating a vehicle exiting a private driveway and entering onto a highway. As he did so he lost control of his vehicle and struck a fence pole. An accident report was completed.

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that while his vehicle was parked at a local parking lot someone struck it with another vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. A report was completed.

Report of an accident — Brianna Savage of Ely was operating a vehicle and was exiting a private driveway. As she did so she failed to see a vehicle being operated by Thomas Santaita of Ely who was traveling on Great Basin Blvd. Savage’s vehicle struck Santaita’s vehicle causing damage. Savage was issued a citation for yield from private driveway. An accident report was completed.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and it was tagged for removal.

SEPT. 22

Report of a counterfeit money — Reporting party stated that she had received a counterfeit bill at her place of employment. Officer checked the bill and determined it was counterfeit. A suspect has been identified who had passed the bill for merchandise. The investigation continues.

Report of a found wallet — The owner was contacted and the wallet was returned.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles trying to start a fire in a grassy area. The area was patrolled, but no juveniles were located.

Report of an accident — The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that an individual had parked his vehicle on his property. When the individual returned to get his vehicle the reporting party advised him he was trespassing. The individual used profanity towards the reporting party. The individual was contacted and issued a trespass warning.

Report of a burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into his home and removed some property. Investigation continues.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted several individuals who were having a party. They were advised to keep the peace.
