Report of an open door — Officer located an open door on a closed business. The business was checked and the door secured.

Report of a fire — Report was given to the Ely Fire Department.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Edward Loehr age 38 of Ely was arrested on a Reno NV Justice Court warrant.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that a family member is being harassed over the ownership of a home. The reporting party was advised to have the family member contact law enforcement.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer received report of a vehicle that was locked with a small child inside. Officer reported that a local tow company was able to unlock the vehicle.

Report of an ambulance assist — Officer received a report of an individual who was in need of medical assistance. Officers assisted the individual until the Ely ambulance arrived.

Report of possible gun shots — Officer received a report of an individual who had discharged a gun during an argument with another person. Officer reported that during his investigation Edmund C. Shurtleff age 77 of McGill was arrested for discharging a firearm where a person can be endangered and obstructing a police officer. He is accused of arguing with a family member and during the argument discharging a firearm near the residence.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer contacted the juvenile who was threatening to harm herself. She was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that a dog had gotten out of its yard and was acting aggressive. The dog was placed back into the yard.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and advised him of the complaint. A warning was issued.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a female juvenile that had been battered. During the officers investigation Michael Lawrence age 46 of Ely was arrested for domestic battery with strangulation and child abuse.

Report of an open door — Officer received a report of an open door on a closed business. The business was checked and the door was secured by an employee of the business.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she had been receiving unwanted and harassing text messages from an individual. Officer observed the messages and the incident was documented.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and he was fine.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had been engaged in a verbal argument. The parties separated for the night and were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a disturbance — Report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that her dog had been stolen and then left for animal control to pick it up. The incident was documented.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that an individual had been trespassed from a local apartment building. The individual had returned to the apartment building. He was located and issued a citation for trespassing.

Report of a dog at large — The owner of the dog was contacted who secured it in his home.

Report of a parking violation — The owner of the vehicle was contacted and advised to move the vehicle.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that he observed a underage person loitering at a local bar. The individual was contacted and identified as Tristan Komnenus age 18 of Ely. He was arrested for minor loitering where alcohol is sold and disturbing the peace.

Report of an open door — Officer reported that a door was found open on a closed business. The business was checked and the door secured.

Report of a domestic battery — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place and the suspect had threatened the individuals involved with a gun. Officer located the suspect who was still in possession of the firearm and identified him as Charles Duran age 36 of Ely. Duran was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, ex-felon in possession of a firearm, aiming a firearm at a person, domestic battery, elderly abuse, and failure to register as an ex-felon.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that a customer at her place of business had stolen her cell phone. The customer was contacted who had accidentally taken the phone. The phone was returned.

Report of a suicidal subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was threatening suicide. Officers searched for the individual and located her on Success Loop. The individual was identified as Eryca R. Laswell-Buck age 22 of McGill. Officers reported that Laswell-Buck had taken her own life.

Report of a motorist assist — Officer received a report of a vehicle that was stuck on a mountain road. The operator of the vehicle was contacted who requested no assistance.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of deer in the roadway — The area was patrolled, but the deer had left the area.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that Mitchell L. Ashworth age 53 of Carlin, NV was arrested for domestic battery with strangulation. He is accused of battering his girlfriend.

Report of shots fired — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted several of the parties involved who gave statements about the fight. One of the parties involved was identified as J. Michael Bainbridge age 25 of Ely. He was arrested on an Elko Justice Court warrant.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer reported that the vehicle had broken down and was in need of repair.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties stated that they would keep the peace.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Officer reported that lights were left on inside a closed business. The business was checked and no problems were located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over lost property. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. One of the parties’ involved was moving out of the residence and the other was helping her by throwing her stuff out the door. The parties then separated for the night.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Justin T. Barragan age 27 of Ely was arrested for driving suspended, no insurance, and headlamps required.

Report of a welfare check — The individuals were contacted and were fine.

Report of a stolen vehicle — Reporting party stated that her vehicle had been stolen by her ex-boyfriend. Officer located the vehicle parked at a local parking lot. The vehicle was returned to the reporting party. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident — Lorie Lesher of McGill reported that she had struck a deer with her vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of a found bicycle — The bike was placed into lost and found.

Report of a lost item — Reporting party stated that he stayed at a motel in the Reno, NV area and left an item in his room. He contacted the motel, but is having a problem getting the item back. Officers are assisting in obtaining the item.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The vehicle was located and no problems were reported.

Report of a bad check — Reporting party stated that her place of business had received several checks for payment of goods. When presented to the bank the checks were returned for insufficient funds. Officer reported that the checks had been received over a year ago. The reporting party was advised it was a civil issue due to the time frame.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that he had been battered by an individual while he was at his ranch doing work. Investigation continues.

Report of a custody problem — Officer received a report of several individuals arguing over the custody of a child. Officer contacted the parties involved and the situation was resolved.

Report of a private property accident — Saibua Henry of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a parked vehicle behind her belonging to Timothy Dotson of Cherry Creek. Henry’s vehicle struck Dotson’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of shots fired — Officer patrolled the area and located a vehicle that was back firing due to engine problems.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and issued her a warning.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individuals and reported that they were fine.

Report of a lost debit card — Officer advised the reporting party to contact her banking establishment and cancel the card.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The area was patrolled, but no problems were located.

Report of a lost and found item — Reporting party located a bottle of prescription pills. The owner of the pills will be contacted.

Report of a welfare check — The individuals were contacted and were fine.

Report of an accident — Justin Duke of Henderson, NV was operating a vehicle traveling on Cave Valley Road. As he did so he hit a cow that had entered onto the roadway, causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.
