Report of a 911 hangup — Officer reported that the call came from a closed business. The business was checked and no problems were located.

Report of a welfare check— Officer attempted to contact the person, but she was not at home.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who advised they had been arguing. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a custody problem — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over visitation rights, reference their daughter. Officer reported that both parties came to an agreement of who the daughter would stay with.

Report of found drugs — Reporting party stated that they had located some marijuana inside their place of business. Officer collected the item and it will be destroyed.

Report of fraud — Reporting party stated that she received a telephone call at her place of employment requesting she obtain gift card numbers along with pin numbers and provide them to the caller. The reporting party stated that the caller identified himself as the owner of the business. The reporting party provided the caller with the information. The reporting party was advised it was a scam. Investigation continues.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that someone had damaged a window on her home. The incident was documented.

Report of a cow in the roadway—The cow was located and moved behind the fence to keep it off the road.

Report of a suspicious vehicle—Officer located the vehicle and reported that an unlicensed juvenile was operating the vehicle. The juvenile along with his mother were issued citations. The juvenile for operating a vehicle without a license and the mother for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a vehicle.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of a citizen assist—Officer received a report of an individual who was choking on food. When officers arrived the individual stated that he was fine.

Report of an accident—Officers received a report of a vehicle accident located on US 6 mile marker 31. When officers arrived they located a semi-truck that had gone off the roadway. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Jeffrey L. Conway age 59 of Rubidoux, CA. Conway died of his injuries related to the vehicle accident. The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Report of a disturbance—Officer received a report of a domestic disturbance that was taking place. During the officers investigation Aaron Moorhead age 32 of Ely was arrested. Morehead was arrested for disturbing the peace.

Report of a reckless driver —Officer received a report of a reckless driver. Officer located the vehicle and reported that it was being operated in a reckless manner. Officer reported that the operator of the vehicle was identified as Robert L. Herrera age 54 of Jerome ID. He was arrested for failure to yield to flagman, driving on right side required, reckless driving, D.U.I., eluding and possession of marijuana.

Report of drug paraphrnalia—Reporting party stated that he had located some drug paraphernalia at his place of work. The item was collected and destroyed.

Report of suspicious subject—Officer received a report of an individual who was rolling around in the roadway. Officer contacted the individual who was experiencing some type of hallucination. He was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of an open door—Reporting party stated that when he returned to his residence he noticed that his front door was open. The home was checked and no problems were reported.

Report of a suspicious vehicle—Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle who was having mechanical problems.

Report of bad checks—Officer collected the checks from the local business establishment that had been returned due to nonsufficient funds. The checks were turned over to the City Attorney for collections or prosecution.

Report of an abandoned vehicle—Officer informed the reporting party that the incident was civil due to the vehicle being parked on private property.

Report of an unattended child—Officer received a report of a child that was not picked up at the bus stop. The parent of the child was contacted who advised a family member was to pick up the child. The situation was resolved.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Aaron J. Estopare age 23 of Ely was arrested on a drug court violation.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Keith A. Shepherd age 34 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Lauren K. Jacaway Jr. age 55 of Reno was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant. During his arrest he was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

Report of threats—Reporting party stated that she had received a voice mail from an unknown caller that was threating. The incident was documented.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Anthony R. Buckner age 29 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant and for obstructing a police officer.

Report of a theft—The reporting party claimed her son lost a cell phone, which another child later recovered, but refused to return.  Officers were unable to locate the phone or the child who allegedly possessed it.

Report of a theft—The reporting party claimed a former employee had stolen some of his tools.  The employee was located and returned the tools.

Report of an arrest—An officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, 35 year old California resident David Romeil Cobbs.  Cobbs was later arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Report of an habitual truant—A student missed three or more days, un-excused and was deemed a habitual truant.  A citation was issued and a report will be forwarded to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a problem with a subject—The landlord of a local apartment complex claimed a tenant had been evicted, but refused to leave.  Contact was made with the tenant, who left without incident.

Report of fraud—The reporting party claimed to have received a phone call from a subject claiming to be with the IRS.  He was advised the phone call was part of a scam.

Report of a theft—The reporting party claimed to have been staying with a friend, when some of her property came up missing.  She believes someone in the home took her property.  The investigation continues.

Report of an arrest—An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as 53 year old Ely resident Kenneth Bryant.  Bryant was later arrested for driving under the influence.  During a search incident to arrest, controlled substances were located.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that an individual had removed several items from her place of business without paying for them. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident—Reporting party stated that a vehicle had struck the wall in front of her home. No damage was done to the wall. Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle who advised his brakes had failed. The incident was documented.

Report of a juvenile problem—Officer received a report of several juveniles who had been involved in a battery of another student at a local school. School officials had already disciplined the students. A report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that several items had been stolen from her vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of a lost license plate—Reporting party stated that his license plate was missing from his vehicle. A report was taken.

Report of a domestic disturbance—The area was patrolled, but no disturbance was located.

Report of a fight—Officer contacted two individuals who had been involved in a physical altercation. The individuals were not forthcoming with information about the fight. The parties involved went their separate ways.

Report of a disturbance—Officer received a report of a person yelling at a local motel. The individual was contacted and advised to keep the peace.

Report of a disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved who stated that a female friend was intoxicated and out of control. They attempted to calm her down, but she was stabbing holes in the wall with a knife and had also obtained a firearm. Officer contacted the female who stated that she was mad because she wasn’t allowed to leave the home. Officers calmed the situation down and no other problems were reported.

Report of a scam—Reporting party stated that they received a check in the mail for a large sum of money. Reporting party was advised it was a scam.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that he is receiving unwanted text message from an individual. Officer is attempting to contact the sender of the messages.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian—Reporting party stated that he located an individual laying in the roadway. Officer contacted the person and called a friend to come and pick him up.

Report of a suspicious subject—Officer contacted the person who was tired of driving and stopped to rest.

Report of an ATV disturbance—The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over the rent of a motel room. The parties agreed that the renter would move out the following day.

Report of a reckless driver—The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of suspicious circumstances—Reporting party stated that there were foot prints in the snow around a vacant home. Officer checked the home and found it to be secured.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer contacted a juvenile who was having problems with his father. Officer reported that the juvenile was being disrespectful to his father. He was advised to keep the peace with his family by being respectful to his father.

Report of a battery—Reporting party stated that she had been battered by her employer. Officer investigated the incident and did find that a battery had occurred. The reporting party then requested that no enforcement action take place. The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officers received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a local bar. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a found wallet—The owner of the wallet was contacted and he will pick the item up.

Report of identity theft—Reporting party stated that he recently found out that someone was using his social security number to apply for benefits. The reporting party was provide information to file an identity theft packet with the State of Nevada.

Report of an accident—Patrick H. Corbin of McGill was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a vehicle behind him belonging to Jake Stark of Ely. Corbin’s vehicle struck Stark’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Corbin was issued a citation for unsafe backing.

Report of possible child abuse—Officer investigated the incident and reported that it was unfounded.

Report of a stolen vehicle—Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his motorcycle from his residence. Investigation continues.

Report of suspicious phone call—Reporting party stated that he has received several phone calls where the callers doesn’t say anything, just back ground noises can be heard. The incident was documented.

Report of fraud—Reporting party stated that he received a phone call from an individual claiming that a family member was in jail and need bail money. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and to discontinue any contact with the caller.
