Ladycat softball demolishes the opposition, wins four; Bobcat baseball splits at home, loses two on the road

The White Pine High softball team beat Calvary Chapel Christian at home March 18 by a score of 30-1.

“We drew a lot of walks,” Coach Krystal Smith said. “We put the ball in play, causing the defense to make errors. Izabel Romero pitched a good game.”

The Ladycats won the second game of the doubleheader against Calvary Chapel 40-0.

They traveled to play Wells High on March 19, winning both games of the doubleheader 14-8 and 15-2.  The team is now 6-3 overall, and 2-0 in the league. They travel to Las Vegas March 25 to play a doubleheader against Agassi Prep that starts at 1 p.m.

The White Pine High baseball team beat Calvary Chapel Christian handily at home March 18 by a score of 20-0.

“We came out and hit the ball,” said Coach Quinn Ewell. “Colton Britton had a good game to shut them out.”

The Bobcats lost the next game to Calvary Chapel 12-9.

“We had a couple errors,” Ewell said. “Too many walks. But there were a lot of positives. We just need to clean up the errors and throw strikes.”

The team traveled to play Wells High on March 19, but lost both games of the doubleheader, 21-0 and 16-15. They are now 1-1 in league play and 2-6 overall, and they travel to Las Vegas March 25 to play a doubleheader against Agassi Prep that starts at 1 p.m.
