Members of the VFW Post #3457 and Auxiliary, as well as American Legion members attended an awards ceremony to honor Cambria Poulsen at the Post home. Cambria entered the Creative Patriotic Art Contest with a pen and ink rendering of what Patriotism means to her.

Included with her art work was an explanation of the meanings of each aspect of her drawing. Her illustration depicted chained hands on a flag draped background. Written throughout the drawing, in minute detail, were the words, Freedom, Hope Justice, Courage, and Strength, which Cambria felt depicted the attributes of our past and present American troops.

Miss Poulsen won the local competition and will proceed to the district level. She was awarded a $100 gift card, a certificate of appreciation and a handmade hat. The contest winning art work will be on display at the local VFW Post. We encourage everyone to take the time to view this amazing work.

The VFW is a nonprofit organization dedicated to veterans’ service, legislative advocacy, and military and community service programs. For more information contact the local VFW Post or visit our website at www.vfw.or
