Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are released by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

JUNE 1

Report of a suspicious subject — Reporting party stated that someone was trying to open her back door. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a suspicious subject —Reporting party stated that an individual was going through her garbage. Officer contacted the individual who advised he was looking for recyclables. He was advised to stay out of people’s garbage.Report of a domestic disturbance —Officer patrolled the area, but no problems were located.

Report of a problem with a subject  —- Reporting party stated that he had gotten into an argument with his wife and she had broken an item in their home. Officer reported that the wife had left the residence and no further problems were reported.

Report of a welfare check —The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a theft — reporting party stated that while he and his girlfriend were at a local business establishment his girlfriend dropped her wallet. The reporting party observed an unknown male pick up the wallet. The reporting party confronted the male to get the wallet back, who denied he had it. The reporting party observed the wallet hanging out of the males pocket and retrieved the wallet. The male then left the area. Investigation continues.

Report of a hit and run accident —  Reporting party stated that while her vehicle was parked in a local parking lot, an unknown vehicle struck her car. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. A report was completed.

Report of a possible child abuse —  Reporting party stated that when her children go to their father’s for visitations, she believes there is some physical abuse that is taking place. The incident was documented and D.C.F.S. is assisting in the investigation.

Report of an accident — Julie Wallace of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. David Honts of Iowa City, Iowa was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. Both vehicles had stopped at the stop light at Great Basin Blvd. When the light turned green both drivers proceeded through the intersection and collided into each other. Both drivers claim to have been occupying the same travel lane. An accident report was completed.

Report of a fight —  Officer contacted the parties involved and arrested Patricia H. Colville, 47, of Ely. Colville was arrested for battery with a deadly weapon. She is accused of striking another person with a barbecue grill brush. The individual she struck was taken to the E.R due a serious injury they had sustained to their face.

Report of found property —  Reporting party stated that she had located a driver’s license and debit cards. The owner of the items was contacted and they will be returned.

JUNE 2

Report of found property — A wallet was found and returned to the owner.

Report of a juvenile problem—The reporting party claimed someone was shooting a bb gun at his residence. Two juveniles were later located and admitted to shooting a bb gun, but not intentionally at the reporting party’s home.

Report of a welfare check —  The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party claimed there was a suspicious item in an alley. An empty refrigerant tank was located and disposed of.

Report of harassment — The reporting party claimed to have been receiving harassing text messages from her ex-husband. A report was completed.

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed a subject stole his medication.  The investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check —The subject was located and was fine.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The reporting party was having issues with her minor child.  The child was later taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

Report of an accident —  Aymee Feliz, of Ely, swerved to miss an animal and rolled her vehicle.  A report was completed.

JUNE 3 Officers received a report of an individual sitting next to a highway. The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

Report of a lost purse — Reporting party stated that she had left her purse in a friend’s car. The friend is supposed to mail the purse back to the reporting party. The incident was documented.

Report of a down phone line —  Officer reported that a phone line had fallen into an alleyway. AT&T were contacted and advised.

Report of a parking problem —  Officer received a report of a vehicle blocking a roadway. The vehicle had broken down and had to be removed.

Report of an arrest—  Officer reported that Holly A. Asaro, 33, of Ely was arrested on an District Court warrant.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen a firearm from his residence. During the investigation the gun was located. The owner had just misplaced it.

Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that while operating a vehicle he had backed into a rock causing damage to the vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that several juveniles were trespassing on his property. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

Report of a trespasser —  Reporting party stated that several people were loitering around his property. The individuals were contacted and advised to stay off the property.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Britney L. Lewis, 27, of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a possible drug user — Reporting party stated that he located drugs in his child’s room. The items were tested and found not to be controlled substances.

Report of a dog at large — Officer reported that the owner of the dog was contacted and advised to keep it in an enclosed area.

Report of an arrest —  Officer reported that Benjamin M. Miller, 22, of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of found items — Reporting party stated that he had located several credit cards. The items were collected and will be returned to the owner.

Report of a problem with a subject —  Reporting party stated that an individual was throwing firecrackers from a vehicle. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle wasn’t located.

JUNE 4

Report of a fight — Officer received a report of a fight taking place at a local apartment complex. Officer contacted several of the people involved who advised it was a verbal argument. The manager of the complex trespassed several people from the property.

Report of an open door — Officer located an open door on a closed business. The business was checked and the door secured.

Report of an open door — Officer located an open door on a vehicle. The vehicle was checked by the owner and the door secured.

Report of suspicious circumstances  — Officer reported that he located mail in the roadway. The mail was collected and returned to the owner.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into his closed business and stole some money. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Clay C. Cook, 51, of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of an ATV disturbance —Officer received a report of an ATV spinning circles in the roadway. The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

Report of a domestic disturbance  — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. During the officers investigation, one of the parties involved was identified as Robert Kanavel, 41, of Ely. Kanavel was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Officer received a report of a parked vehicle and that the operator was slumped over the steering wheel. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a suspicious vehicle  — Officer located the vehicle and reported that it was legally parked. No problems were located.

Report of a dog at large — Officer located the dogs and placed them back into the owner’s yard and secured the gate.

Report of an accident — The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a suspicious vehicle —  Officer received a report of a vehicle parked in an alleyway. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a barking dog —  The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the complaint.

JUNE 5

Report of a lost person Officer received a report of several people going out into a mountainous area for a drive. The individuals didn’t return home. Officer reported that the individuals had been located. They had become stuck and needed assistance getting out.

Report of a welfare check The individuals were contacted and were fine.

Report of a found wallet —The owner of the wallet was contacted and it was returned to her.

Report of a citizen assist Officer received a report of an individual who had gotten into an argument with her husband and had left their vehicle while traveling through the area. The female had wandered off into a remote area and the reporting party couldn’t find her. After several hours of searching the individual was located walking down a wash. She was reunited with her husband and they continued on their travels.

Report of an arrest Officer reported that Shannon M. Shadix, 40, of Ely was arrested for driving suspended and operating a vehicle on suspended registration.

Report of a domestic disturbance  Officer contacted the parties involved who denied any problems were taking place. The incident was documented.

Report of a fight Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved work out their problems.

Report of a disturbance Officer received a report of a horn going off on a car. The area was patrolled, but no problems were located.

JUNE 6

Report of a welfare check The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of an accident Tony Sifre of Ely was operating a vehicle and exited it leaving it in a parked position. When he returned to his vehicle he observed where another vehicle had rolled forward and struck his vehicle. The registered owner of the other vehicle was identified as Jennifer McQueen of Ely. Minor damage to the vehicles was reported and the incident was documented.

Report of a welfare check the individual was located and was fine.

Report of an accident  Pat Stork of Ely had parked his vehicle which was towing a trailer on 7th street. Matthew Livarani of Ely was operating a vehicle and made a turn from Aultman Street onto 7th street. As he did so he struck the trailer belonging to Stork causing damage. An accident report was completed and Liverani was issued a citation for improper turn.

Report of a welfare check   Officer contacted the mother and child and reported that they were fine.
