JUNE 14

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Patrick H. Corbin, 50, of Ely, was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a gun shot — Officer patrolled the area but nothing was located.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle who was camping in the area.

Report of a property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had thrown eggs on his vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Joshua L. Scott, 25, of Seattle Wash.,  was arrested for basic speed and driving suspended.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that she was contacted by an individual who stated that he was representing the Treasury Department and was investigating a tax evasion. The reporting party provided the caller with her personal information. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and to monitor her credit information. She was provide with information on identity theft.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of an accident — Martha Collette of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Pinon Pine Road. She failed to yield to oncoming traffic as she entered onto Veterans Blvd. Collette collided into a vehicle being operated by Harvinder S. Gill of BC. An accident report was completed and Collette was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way.

Report of a problem with a subject —Reporting party stated that an individual was building a home and was making a new roadway through BLM land. The reporting party requests that the permitting process be checked to make sure they are allowed to build the new road. BLM was contacted and will investigate the problem.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Tiana M. Wilson, 25, of Ely, was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Kimberly J. Douglas, 38, of Ely, was arrested on a warrant issued out of the first Judicial District Court.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the occupant in the vehicle who was identified as Jeffery A. Ferguson, 31, of Hayden, Idaho. Ferguson was sleeping in his vehicle. Officer reported that Ferguson was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the individual who was playing their TV too loud. She was advised to turn it down.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and arrested Brian S. Boots, 41, of Ely. Boots was arrested for domestic battery. He is accused of battering a family member.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer assisted medical staff at the E.R. with an individual who was being uncooperative while receiving medical attention.

JUNE 15

Report of an ATL — Officer received a report of an overdue motorist. Officer located the individual who was having vehicle problems. She was assisted to her residence in McGill.

Report of property damage — Officer located a broken window on a vacant building. The owner of the building was notified.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of a juvenile riding his skateboard on a highway. The area was patrolled, but he was not located.

Report of a scam — Reporting party stated that she received a phone call from an individual claiming to be from the IRS. The caller advised the reporting party that she owed money to the IRS and needed to pay it or a warrant for her arrest would be issued. The reporting party was told by the caller to purchase iTune cards in a specific amount and then provide the numbers on the cards to him. The reporting party complied with the caller’s request. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and that there was no way to retrieve the money she had lost.

Report of a private property accident — Daniel Widell of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling through a local parking lot. He then struck a parked vehicle belonging to Stephanie Valadez of Ely, which slid into another parked vehicle belonging to Osmond Crowther of Ely. An accident report was completed.

Report of property damage —Reporting party stated that someone had entered into a county bathroom and stole the paper towels and threw the paper towel holder into the toilet. The incident was documented.

Report of a dog bite — Reporting party stated that while he was visiting a friend, the friend’s dog bit his child in the face. The child was taken to E.R. for medical treatment. The owner of the dog was contacted and follow up investigation will be conducted by Ely Animal Control.

Report of a dog at large — The dog was captured and taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer received a report of a vehicle running other drivers off the roadway. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. The operator of the vehicle was contacted and identified as Lance A. Hurley, 38, of Tucson, Ariz. Hurley was arrested for D.U.I., open container of alcohol, and driving on right side required.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a suspicious subject — Reporting party stated that he was painting a home for a family member when a person drove by in a vehicle and made threats towards him about doing business without a license. The incident was documented.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the children and reported that they were fine.

Report of a found item — Reporting party found a driver’s license. The owner of the license was contacted and it was returned.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop Sheridan E. Velazquez, 22, of Hailey, Idaho, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that he has received several phone calls and that the caller keeps threatening him. Officer attempted to contact the caller, but was unsuccessful. The incident was documented.

Report of found drug paraphernalia  — Reporting party stated that while cleaning out a residence, she located several items of drug paraphernalia. The items were collected and destroyed.

Report of an accident — Maria Sperry of Ely was operating a vehicle when she stated that the throttle struck. She was unable to stop the vehicle and she collided into a fence and then a four wheeler which collided into a home. An accident report was completed.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that he is separated from his wife but she keeps trying to contact him. He was advised to obtain a harassment order.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop Timothy D. Hervey, 20, of Bellevue, Wash., was arrested for basic speed, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and transporting a controlled substance.  A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Kyle B. Kasner, 21, of Bellevue, Wash.. He was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and transporting a controlled substance. Another passenger in the vehicle was identified as Arman A. Sadri. He was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, transporting a controlled substance, and possession of false identification for sale.

Report of a domestic disturbance —Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that they were engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a 911 hang-up —The individuals at the home were contacted who advised they didn’t call 911. The incident was documented.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Cameron M. Varney, 23, of Ely, was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a domestic battery — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation, Jonathan Ruby, 21, of West Sacramento, Calif., was arrested for domestic battery. He is accused of battering his girlfriend.

Report of a private property accident — Brady Lyons of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a parked car behind him belonging to Taylor Adams of Ely. Lyons vehicle struck Adam’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a harassing phone calls — Reporting party stated that his ex-wife keeps calling him and harassing him about child custody. The incident was documented.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian —Officer received a report of an individual standing in the roadway yelling. Officer located the individual and identified him as Walter R. Kennedy, 32, of Ely. Kennedy was arrested for intoxicated person in a roadway.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that she heard someone screaming from a vehicle. The operator of the vehicle was contacted and no problems were reported.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had gained access to his debit card and had used it to make several purchases. The reporting party had already contacted his banking establishment. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic battery — Reporting party stated that she had been battered by her boyfriend. Officer reported that the boyfriend had fled the scene. Investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that while inside a local business an individual started yelling at her. Officer contacted the individual and identified him as Joseph C. Heath, 52, of Ely. Heath was arrested on a warrant out of Texas for fugitive of justice. He was also arrested for being a sex offender and failing to register.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of suspicious circumstances  — Reporting party stated that she has received several text messages from her fiancée stating that he rolled her vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of a barking dog — The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the complaint.

Report of a barking dog — The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the complaint.

Report of a found bicycle — The bike was collected and placed into lost and found.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported no problems.

Report of an unattended chid — Reporting party located a small child left unattended. Officers searched the area and located the mother who was sleeping. The mother advised the child had left her residence while she was a sleep. During the officers investigation the mother of the child who was identified as Kelsey R. Corkum, 24, of Ely, was arrested for child neglect.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported no problems.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over mowing the lawn. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of an accident — The parties involved advised they were handling the matter civilly and requested no law enforcement involvement.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he stored some of his belongings at a friend’s home and now one of the items is missing. Investigation continues.

Report of a loud party — Officer received a report of a loud party that was taking place. Officer reported that he located a vehicle near the party and made contact with the operator of the vehicle who was identified as Carol L. Quintana-Sena, 26, of Ruth. She was arrested for D.U.I.

Report of a hit and run accident — Officer received a report of a vehicle that had struck a parked car and then fled the scene. Officer located the striking vehicle and identified the driver as Jared A. Russo, 18, of McGill. He was arrested for hit and run property damage and unlicensed driver.

Report of a possible burglary — Officer received a report of an individual attempting to get into a residence. Officer patrolled the area, but no one was located. Officer contacted the home owner who requested no further involvement.

JUNE 19

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Linda A. Mendoza-Delgado, 30, of Kennewick, Wash., was arrested for driving suspended.

Report of a problem with a subject —Reporting party stated that he is having a relationship with an individual through text messages. The person he was sending the messages to is married and her husband caught them communicating with each other. He is now afraid the husband is going to hurt him. The incident was documented.

Report of a juvenile problem —– Reporting party stated that several juveniles were riding their bikes near her home making her dog bark. The juveniles were contacted and  were only allowed to ride their bikes in that area.

Report of an attempted theft —Reporting party stated that someone attempted to steal a metal box off his property. The suspects had left the area and were not located.

Report of an open door — Officer received a report of an open door on a closed business. The door was secured and the owner of the business was notified.

Report of a dog problem — The report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of a found bike — Reporting party found a bike in her yard. The bike was collected and placed into lost and found.
