July 25

Report of a fight —  Officer contacted the parties involved who stated that they had been involved in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of suspicious circumstance — Reporting party stated that they had located some blood near their place of business. Officer checked the area, but no problems were located.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted the hospital with contacting an individual who forgot to pick up his wife after she had been released from medical care.

Report of possible drug activity —Reporting party stated that she believes that her neighbors are involved in drug activity. Investigation continues.

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that while her vehicle was parked and unoccupied, it was struck by another vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that the neighbor’s dog had gotten lose and chased his son. The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the compliant.

Report of a private property accident — Theresa Pierce, of Ely, was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a vehicle behind her being operated by Sonya Mathews, of Ely. Pierce’s vehicle struck Mathews vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer contacted the individual who needed medical assistance. She was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the individuals involved who stated that they were arguing over the use of a weed whacker. The parties involved were advised to stay away from each other to prevent further problems.

Report of an illegally parked vehicle — The area was patrolled but no vehicle was located.

Report of a dog problem — Officer received a report of a barking dog. Officer attempted to contact the owner of the dog, but no own was home.

JULY 27

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that he located an individual who was urinating in public and exposing his genitals. The individual was identified as Spencer G. Nielson, 60, of Delta, Utah.  Nielson was arrested for lewd acts.

Report of a domestic disturbance —The area was patrolled and no problems were located.

Report of a theft — Officer received a report of an individual who had turned his water back on after the water district had turned it off. The individual was contacted and issued a citation for theft of utilities.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that she is having problems with her ex-husband in reference to custody issues. She was advised to seek legal counsel to address the issues.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had used her personal information to apply for social security benefits. She was advised to obtain an identity theft packet and to file it with the state.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of a juvenile who was threatening to harm himself. Officer is attempting to contact the parents of the juvenile.

Report of a problem with motorist — Officer received a report of several vehicles emitting a large amount of exhaust smoke. The area was patrolled, but the vehicles were not located.

Report of a possible fraud — Reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend was still using their shared banking account. Officer reported that the incident was a civil problem due to both parties involved are still on the account.

Report of an accident — Sebastian Bauer of Germany was operating a vehicle exiting a private driveway. He failed to see a vehicle being operated by Leah Falder, of Ely. Bauer’s vehicle struck Falder’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of an accident — Kerri Pintar, of Ely, reported that she struck a deer on U.S. 93, causing damage to her vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that a tree branch had fallen from a tree and struck their vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer contacted the individual and warned him about the complaint. He denied the allegation.

Report of suspicious lights — Officer received a report of several lights that arched across the sky. Officer reported that several reports from news media indicated it was a meteor of space junk burning up.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her wallet while she was playing slot machines at a local casino. Investigation into the incident continues.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted an individual who had recently been released from the hospital. She was provided transportation to her home.

Report of a noise disturbance — The area was patrolled, but no disturbance was located.

Report of a suspicious subject — Reporting party stated that several individuals were hanging around a closed business. As officers were responding to the area, the individuals left the scene.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop, the vehicle he had stopped had been reported stolen. Officer reported that Samuel S. Wuo, 19, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Clinton R. Jackson, 19, also of Minneapolis, were both arrested for possession of stolen property.

Report of an accident — Ronald Alexander, of Salt Lake City, Utah, reported that she was stopped at a stop sign. Thao Tran stated that he was stopped behind Alexander. Alexander stated that Tran struck his vehicle from behind. Tran stated that Alexander backed up and struck his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of found property — Reporting party located a bag with football gear inside. The bag was placed into lost and found.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that she bought a trailer that need some repair. She reported that someone had entered into the trailer and stole some wiring. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Landon W.  Williams, 20, of Ruth, was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a noise disturbance — Reporting party stated that an individual was working on his home causing a noise disturbance. The reporting party was advised that the construction noise was legal and not considered a disturbance.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted an individual who had ran out of gas in his vehicle.

Report of found drug items — Reporting party stated that he had located some items used in drug use. The items were collected and destroyed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that a family member was taking pictures of children. Officer advised that no crime had occurred.

Report of a fire — The report was given to Ely BLM.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his propane tank. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance —Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that a customer at her place of business had made a rude comment towards an employee. The customer was contacted and trespassed from the business.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual and identified him as Sean P. Rawson, 44, of Missoula, Mont. During the officer’s investigation, it was discovered that a warrant had been issued for Rawson for a parole violation out of the state of Montana. Rawson was arrested and transported to the Public Safety Building. During his arrest he was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a concealed firearm.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her neighbor was telling her children about a person living near them that was a peeper. The neighbor was contacted and advised not to speak to children that she didn’t have responsibility for.

Report of found keys — The owner of the keys will be notified and the key will be returned.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his sons bike. A report was completed.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the individuals involved who were trying to catch a Pokemon. No other problems were reported.

Report of a possible deceased person  — The individual was contacted who was sleeping near the roadway.

Report of a hit and run accident — Officer reported that during his investigation, it was determined that a gust of wind had blown over the motorcycle. No accident had occurred.

Report of an injured deer — The area was patrolled, but no inured deer was located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of a found wallet — The owner of the wallet was contacted and will pick the item up.

Report of a sexual assault — Reporting party stated that she had been sexually assaulted. Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a local business. The individual was contacted and identified as Steven Crutchfield, 33, of Lodi, Calif. Officer reported that Crutchfield was arrested on two Lander County Justice Court warrants and one Elko Justice Court warrant.

Report of a shots fired — The area was patrolled and officers reported that the noise came from fireworks.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that a local business had done some work for her and now they are charging her more money. She was advised to speak to the business to rectify the situation of to take them to small claims court.

Report of a domestic battery — Reporting party stated that her husband had battered her and would not let her leave the residence. During the officers investigation, Jason E. Robinson, 41, of Ely, was arrested. Robinson was arrested for domestic battery and false imprisonment. He is accused of battering his wife and not allowing her to leave their home.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved had already separated for the night.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Michael A. Gregerson, 25, of Ely, was arrested for DUI, obstruction of windshield, and stop lamps required.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Josh C. Fresquez, 28, of Ely, was arrested for D.U.I. and lighted lamps required.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer contacted an individual who was suffering from dementia and was unsure where she lived. A family member was contacted and the individual was assisted in finding a place to stay for the night.

Report of an accident — Mandy Carson, of Ely, was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. She stopped her vehicle behind another vehicle which was turning into a private drive. Ralph Gubler, of Ely, was operating a vehicle and failed to stop his vehicle behind Carson’s causing an accident. Gubler was issued a citation for following to close and an accident report was completed.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a fire — The report was given to the BLM Office.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Preston E. Mike, 30, of Ely, died at a local motel. Mike was transported to the Clark County Coroner Office to determine the cause of death. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his neighbor had been over-watering his yard and it was flooding his yard. Before officers arrived the water had been turned off.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that several individuals were causing a disturbance at a local business. The individuals were contacted and trespassed from the property.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was causing a disturbance at his home. The parties involved were contacted and they separated for the night.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that James V. Lafferty, 36, of Ely, was arrested on two Ely Municipal Court warrants and on a warrant out of Good Spring Township Justice Court

Report of property damage —  Reporting party stated that his vehicle had been parked in front of his residence when someone had struck it with another vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a public nuisance — Officer received information from the city of Ely about a residence that has accumulated a large amount of debris. The owner of the property has moved to another state. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject —Reporting party stated that an ex-employee had caused problems at their business by removing files and disrupting the business. Reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

Report of a music disturbance — Officer received a report of loud music coming from a vehicle. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a possible theft — Reporting party observed an individual retrieve a package from in front of a business and removed its contents. The individual then left the area. Investigation continues.
