Robert J. Toles

Robert J. “Bob” Toles passed away Aug. 1, 2016 in Centralia, Wash.

Bob was born in Meeker, Colo., Feb. 5, 1922 to Jesse J. and Myrtle Kyle Toles. He graduated from Lone Pine Union High School, class of 1941, in Lone Pine, Calif. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Bob was stationed at Royal Air Force Shipdam, England as a B-24 crew member with the 68th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy).

On June 27, 1945, he married Maxine Skinner in Ely, Nev.

Bob drove truck for 40 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, and brothers, Herb Toles and Jerry Toles.

He is survived by his sons, Gary W. Toles and his wife Gale, and Alan Toles; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He will be interred in the Ely cemetery beside his wife, on Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. for those wishing to attend.

    Gary and Alan, so sorry to hear of your father’s passing. Your dad and mom were special people to me when I was a young girl spending time after school at Nevada Distributing Company. Your dad worked with my dad for several years there. Both were such kind people. Hope you both are well.

Frank & I spent many good times with Bob & Maxine when we lived in Ely and helped them celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in Washington in 2005.
