The Ladycat volleyball team traveled this past weekend to compete in their first league matches of the season.  They lost Friday to Yerington, 12-25, 19-25, 23-25 and the JV also lost 15-25, 12-25.

“We knew Yerington would be tough and at times our offense looked real good, but we struggled with serve receive, giving them runs of as much as 8 points,” said coach Kenna Almberg.

Saturdays match against Silver Stage belonged to White Pine, starting with JV winning 25-11, 25-7 and varsity 25-14, 25-10, 25-7.

Madison Rick led the team with 10 killls for the weekend, followed by Mikinley Prengel with 9, Nina Lopez with 8. Kendra Thompson had 32 assists between the two matches as well as Britney Kington, scoring 4 points on blocks alone.

The Ladycat’s opponents for this upcoming weekend with be Incline and North Tahoe where Almberg expects to bring home two more wins.
