September 12

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop Arthur L. Dugovic, 34, of Fresno, Calif., was arrested for basic speed and non-resident driving suspended.

Report of a possible sexual assault on a child — Investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that she and the child were fine.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that someone had gained access to her Facebook account and also her email account. She was advised to contact the provider for both accounts and to change her passwords.

Report of found property — Reporting party located a wallet near the roadway. The owner of the wallet was contacted.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer contacted the reporting party and provided information to her about personal information being placed on the Internet.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted several individuals with transportation due to their vehicle being involved in an accident.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individuals and reported that they were fine.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that her cell phone had been stolen. Officer reported that a local juvenile had stolen the phone which had been recovered. Investigation into the incident continues.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and he was fine.

Report of a barking dog — The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the complaint.

SEPTEMBER 13

Report of an accident — Officer received a report of a juvenile riding a bicycle that had been struck by a vehicle. Officer reported that the juvenile failed to stop at an intersection and was struck by the vehicle. The juvenile received minor injuries. An accident report was completed.

Report of a dog at large — The dog was captured and turned over to Animal Control.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that while she was riding her horse, several dogs that were running at large chased her. The owner of the dogs was contacted and advised of the complaint.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported no problems.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted several individual who had landed their plane at the airport due to rough weather they were flying in. The individuals were assisted with transportation to obtain lodging.

Report of a problem with a subject — The report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of property damage —Reporting party stated that someone had damaged a lock on a fence that prevented access onto private property. A report was completed.

Report of an open door — Officer contacted the owner of the residence and no problems were reported.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what took place. The parties involved blamed the other for causing the fight. The parties involved were separated and a report was completed.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the day.

Report of an accident — Officer received a report of a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian. Officer reported that Joseph M. Warr, of Ely, was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. Due to sun glare he was unable to see a pedestrian identified as John S. Matyja of McGill. Warr’s vehicle struck Matyja.  Matyja was taken to E.R. by ambulance due to claimed injuries. The accident is under investigation.

Report of an accident — Officer reported that the parties involved had exchanged information and had left the scene. The incident was documented.

Report of a fire — Officer patrolled the area and reported that the smoke was from several fireplaces burning.

SEPTEMBER 15

Report of property damage —Officer received a report of a power line transformer that had been shot causing areas of White Pine County to lose power. The incident is under investigation.

Report of an ambulance assist — Officer assisted with an elderly female who had fallen in her home and needed medical assistance.

Report of a fire — The information was provided to the BLM

Report of a reckless driver — The operator of the vehicle was contacted and advised of the complaint.

Report of a violation of a protective order — Reporting party stated that she had received a message from an individual whom she has a protective order against. Investigation into the incident continues.

Report of several dogs running at large — The information was provided to Ely Animal Control.

Report of a child custody problem — Reporting party stated that the father of her child had their child for visitations, but now refuses to return the child. Officer contacted the individual and the child was returned to the mother.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that she had sold her car to an individual, but the individual didn’t complete paying for the car. The reporting party took the car back, but reported that it was damaged. The incident was documented.

Report of a child custody problem — Reporting party stated that the mother of his child was refusing to allow him to visit the child. The incident was documented.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the individual who was doing home repairs. He was advised to discontinue due to the late hour. He complied.

Report of a stolen bicycle — Reporting party stated that his bike had been stolen. Officer reported that the bike had been turned into lost and found. The bike was returned to the owner.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Gary E Lusetti, 72, of Lund, died at his residence due to natural causes.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that he observed several individuals arguing in the roadway. Officer reported that during his investigation, Joseph E. Creaghe, 30, of Ruth, was arrested for intoxicated person in the roadway.

Report of embezzlement — Reporting party stated that an individual who works for his company was using the company credit card for personal purchases. Investigation continues.

Report of a reckless driver —Officer is attempting to locate the operator of the vehicle.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the individual who was playing their music to loud. He was advised to turn it down.

Report of a hit and run accident — The area was patrolled, but the vehicles involved were not located.

Report of a sexual assault —Investigation into the incident continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Benjamin J. Pierce, 53, of Ely, was arrested for failure to maintain lane of travel, driving revoked, and D.U.I. #2

SEPTEMBER 17 

Report of an accident — Robb A. Gomez of Las Vegas was operating a vehicle traveling on Cave Valley Road. Gomez reported that an elk entered into the roadway causing him to strike it with his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a parking problem — Officer contacted the owner of the vehicle and he removed it from the area.

Report of an accident — Officer reported that Derek Foremaster, of Alamo, was operating a UTV on a dirt road in the Duck Creek area when the UTV drifted off the roadway causing it to roll. A juvenile passenger was thrown from the UTV who sustained injuries and was taken to ER by Foremaster. A report was completed.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer performed traffic control while sheep were moved across the roadway.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of an ATV problem — Officer received a report of several ATV’S riding on city streets. The area was patrolled, but they were not located.

Report of an accident  — The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her daughter was out of control and she believed she had been using drugs. Officer contacted the reporting party and the daughter who denied using any type of drugs, she was just angry at her mother. The incident was documented

Report of a domestic disturbance  —Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. One of the parties involved had hurt her ankle. She was taken to E.R. by ambulance.
