OCTOBER 24  

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: Officer received a report of an individual who was hiding in some bushes next to a residence. Officer contacted the individual and identified him as Shawn R. Southall age 28 of Ely. During the officers investigation Southall was arrested on a probation violation and for possession of methamphetamine.

REPORT OF A DOG BITER: Reporting party was bitten by a dog in a rural part of White Pine County. The reporting party received medical attention in Las Vegas. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF PARKING PROBLEM: City — the vehicle was located and tagged for removal

REPORT OF A VAGRANT: Officer located the individual who was camping in a wooded area. The individual was attempting to obtain housing in the Ely area. No problems were reported.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the individual was contacted and she was fine.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the individual was contacted and he was fine.

REPORT OF A BATTERY: Reporting party stated that she had gotten into an argument with an indidivual over the remote to the TV. Both parties involved stated that they had been struck by the other person during the argument. Investigation continues.

OCTOBER 25  

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBEJCT: Reporting party stated that there was someone on his roof. Officer reported that no one was located and that the reporting party was delusional

REPORT OF AN AMBULANCE ASSIST: City— officer assisted the Ely ambulance with a patient that was having a seizure.

REPORT OF A POSSIBLE DRUNK DRIVER: City — the operator of the vehicle was contacted and no problems were located.

REPORT OF A THEFT: Reporting party stated that someone had removed a shed from her property. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City — officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and advised him of the complaint. He was issued a warning.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the mother and children and reported that they were fine.

REPORT OF AN ATV PROBLEM: Reporting party stated that several juveniles were riding their four wheelers up the alley causing a disturbance and property damage. Officer is attempting to locate the operators of the four wheelers.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that during a traffic stop Devin T. Hutchison age 31 of McGill was arrested on two Ely Municipal Court warrants.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Randy W. Rowley age 45 of Ely was arrested on a District Court warrant.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that she had worked a day for a local company, but now company was refusing to pay her. Officer reported that the day she had worked had been reported by the company as a training day. The reporting party was advised it was a civil problem.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSATNCES: City — reporting party stated that she is concerned about the welfare of a child. Officer is attempting to contact the parents and the child and discuss the problems that were reported.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: Reporting party stated that several individuals were camping on his property. The individuals were contacted and advised to leave the area.

REPORT OF A FRAUD: City — reporting party stated that he had received a telephone call from an individual and the caller had claimed the reporting party owned payment for magazines he had ordered. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and to discontinue any contact with the caller.

OCTOBER 27  

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party stated that approximately one year ago she observed her neighbor standing naked in the window of his residence. Officer reported that since then no other problems had been reported about the neighbor. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Cristina Covarrubias of Ely was operating a vehicle near the intersection of Bell Ave and Aultman Street.  She stated that a semi-truck driver identified as Jimmy Chapman of Spring Creek struck her vehicle as he passed by her. The incident was documented and a report was completed. REPORT OF POSSIBLE DRUG USECity — reporting party stated that she observed several students smoking marijuana near the high school. The area was patrolled, but the students were not located. REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECTCity — reporting party stated that she recently bought a home, but the past occupants hadn’t moved all their belongings out. The incident was documented. REPORT OF A TRESPASSERCity — officer received a report of an individual who had been trespassed from a local apartment building, but the person had returned. He stated that the person he sold the vehicle to contacted him today and stated that the vehicle had been stolen. During the investigation Pierce was arrested for driving revoked, failure to yield right of way and no insurance. REPORT OF A POSSIBLE DRUNK DRIVEROfficer made contact with the operator of the vehicle and reported that she had gotten her vehicle stuck in a remote area. Officer reported that the operator of the vehicle was issued a citation for open container of alcohol inside a vehicle. REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECTOfficer contacted the individual who had made threats about harming herself.
