NOVEMBER 7

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that she is receiving unwanted mail from an individual. Officer looked at the mail and advised the reporting party to just discard the material.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of an individual who believed people were after him and bugging his vehicle. Officers made contact with the indidvual and reported that he was suffering from some type of mental illness. He was advised to go to the local hospital to obtain medical assistance.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that she had been assaulted by an individual who had confronted her about obtaining a cigarette. The reporting party stated that the person had attempted to pull her shirt off. Officer located the individual who denied the allegation and advised he had given the reporting party a ride to a local business. Officer reported that the investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A SEXUALL ASSAULT: City — officer received a report of a child who had been assaulted by several other children. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that she received a phone call at her place of employment from an individual who was upset about paying a bill. The caller used vulgar language and made rude comments to the reporting party. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN OPEN DOOR: Reporting party located an open door at her place of employment. The area was checked and no problems were located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that an individual came to his home accusing him of spying on him. The reporting party wanted the incident documented. Officer contacted the individual and advised him to stay away from the reporting party.

REPORT OF A MISSING JUVENILE: City — reporting party stated that her juvenile son had not returned home at the designated time. Officer located the juvenile and returned him to his parents.

REPORT OF AN AMBULANCE ASSIST: Officer received a report of an unresponsive male laying on a front porch. Officer assisted the county ambulance and the male was taken to E.R.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: Reporting party stated that someone had damaged several benches at a park in McGill. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A VIOLATION OF A COURT ORDER: Reporting party stated that he is receiving telephone calls from an individual whom he has a protective order against. Officer investigated the incident and reported that no violation had occurred.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that he is receiving unwanted text messages and voice mails from his ex-girlfriend. Reporting party was advised to block the calls and to obtain a harassment order.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Russell L. Bainbridge age 26 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant.

REPORT OF A CITIZEN ASSIST: City — reporting party stated that an individual had left his motel room and there was still property left in the room. The reporting party wanted to make sure no drug were in the room. The room was checked and no problems were reported.

REPORT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE: City — officer received a report from the City of Ely reference a public nuisance. Officer reported that the individual no longer lives at the residence and it appears that a foreclosure has taken place on the property.

REPORT OF A MISSING JUVENILE: City — officer received information about a possible missing juvenile in the Ely area. Officers contacted several individuals who might have information about the juvenile, but she was not located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a local apartment complex. The individual was contacted and he was trespassed from the property.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual keeps coming into her place of business and stealing items. Officer reported that at this time no evidence has been obtained to substantiate the claim.

REPORT OF THREATS: City — Reporting party stated that he had heard through a third party that an individual had threatened him. Reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A THEFT: Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his motorcycle from his residence. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A POSSIBLE TRESPASSER: City — reporting party stated that he believed people were entering into his apartment without his permission. The apartment was checked and no one was located.

REPORT OF A FATAL ACCIDENT: City — officer received a report of a vehicle accident located in the 1300 block of East Aultman Street. Officer reported that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle causing his death. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that she rented a trailer to an individual and when the individual moved out he possible stole the refrigerator that belonged to her. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Melissa Spear from Ruth was operating a vehicle traveling on US 50 when a deer entered into he roadway striking her vehicle.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an indidvual who had been visiting at his home started to act crazy and struck him along with another occupant of the home. Officer contacted the parties’ involved and issued several citations for battery to the person accused of striking the reporting parties.

REPORT OF A POSSIBLE BURGALRY: City — reporting party stated that she believed someone had entered into her home while she was away doing business. Officer reported that the person that possible entered into the home had been staying there previously. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The individual was contacted and was fine.

REPORT OF A 911 HANGUP: City — officer contacted the business and they reported that they had accidently called 911. No problems were located.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The individual was contacted and he was fine.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City — the area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: Officer received a report of several juveniles playing in the roadway. The juveniles were contacted and advised to stay out of the roadway when vehicles are passing by.

REPORT OF SEVERAL TRUANCY’S: City — officer received a report of several students that have been truant from school. The juveniles will be issued citations for truancy and a report will be sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer received a report of a female who claimed that she had been battered. During the officers investigation Dillon A. Lewis age 25 of Ely was arrested for domestic battery. He is accused of battering his girlfriend.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that while he was at the shooting range he was changing his target and an indidvual kept shooting towards him. The reporting party confronted the individual who became aggressive towards him. Officer reported that during his investigation a suspect was identified as Melvin M. Morrill age 45 of Elsinore , UT. Morrill was arrested for aiming and discharging a firearm where a person could be endangered, harassment, and provoking an assault.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Officer reported that no problems were located with the vehicle.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBEJCT: City — reporting party stated that an individual was following her in a vehicle yelling at her and causing a problem. Both parties were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBEJCT: City — reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend had been making gestures towards her that make her feel threatened. The reporting party was advised to obtain a harassment order against the ex-boyfriend.

REPORT OF A DOG BITE: City — reporting party stated that while her child was riding his bike he was bitten by a dog at large. Officer located the dog and its owner and the dog will be picked up by animal control

REPORT OF FOUND DRUGS: Reporting party stated that while he was cleaning his home he found a baggie with a substance in that appeared to be a controlled substance. Officer collected the item and it will be destroyed.

REPORT OF A POWER OUTAGE: The Sheriff’s Office received numerous phone calls due to the power outage. Callers were advised to contact Mt. Wheeler Power. It was unknown why the power was out.

REPORT OF A CITIZEN ASSIST: City — officer assisted an elderly female who needed assistance in obtaining help with light during the power outage. Officers assisted her in lighting several candles.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: City — reporting party stated that an individual had returned to an apartment complex that he had been trespassed from. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

NOVEMBER 10

REPORT OF VANDALISM: City — reporting party stated that someone had placed spray paint a city building. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Luana Bernal of Ruth was operating a vehicle turning north onto 10th Street from Aultman Street. Glenna Jewett of McGill was operating a vehicle traveling west on Aultman Street. Bernal failed to yield to Jewett causing an accident. Bernal was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way and an accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A WELFARE: City — the individual was contacted and was fine.

NOVEMBER 11

REPORT OF AN AMBULANCE ASSIST: City — officer assisted the Ely ambulance with an individual who had passed out.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that an individual came into his place of business and wanted to purchase an item. The reporting party advised her of the price and the individual became upset. Officer reported that when he arrived on scene the individual had left and she was not located.

REPORT OF THREATS: Reporting party stated that he had received several text messages that concerned him, Officer advised the reporting party to block the callers number. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City — reporting party was advised on how to exchange property with an individual she was having problems with.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Keith Miller age 37 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

REPORT OF AN AMBULANCE ASSIST: City — officer assisted with an infant that was having problems breathing. The infant was transported to E.R. by ambulance.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument over child support. The parties separated and no other problems were reported.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Anthony Whittaker reported that while he was operating a vehicle on US 50 he struck a deer causing damage to the vehicle. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Officer received a report of a female who was walking out into the roadway causing vehicles to swerve. Officer contacted the female and identified her as Shilo A Swan age 36 of Ely. Swan was arrested for intoxicated person in the roadway.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that during his investigation arrested Michael Wise age 26 of Ely. Wise was arrested for domestic battery and child endangerment. He is accused of battering his wife and leaving her and their child alongside a roadway during inclement weather.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of an individual who had caused a disturbance at a local casino. Officer contacted the individual and identified him as James A Drywater age 36 of Duckwater. Drywater was arrested for disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT: City — reporting party stated that while her vehicle was parked on Aultman Street another vehicle struck the mirror on her vehicle causing damage. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A CHILD CUSTODY PROBLEM: Reporting party stated that his ex-wife did not show up with their children for child custody exchange. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that her child had been battered by another child while attending school. School officials will be notified and contact will be made with the other child that is involved along with his parents.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that during a traffic stop Maria K. Fontana age 19 of Ford, WA was arrested for driving without a valid license and possession of marijuana.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the individual was contacted and was fine.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of a juvenile who was refusing to go home. The juvenile was located and officers reported that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was released to his mother and a report will be sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF AN AMBULANCE ASSIST: City — officer assisted the Ely ambulance with an individual who was chocking.

NOVEMBER 12

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved and reported that it was a verbal argument. During the officers investigation one of the parties involved was identified as Matthew S. Swenson age 34 of Ely. Swenson was arrested for disturbing the peace.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of an individual causing a problem at a local motel. Officer contacted the individual who was sleeping in the lobby. He was advised to go to his room. He complied.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — reporting party stated that he observed a vehicle leaking some type of substance. Officer reported that he located a water truck that was leaking water. No problems were reported.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — officer reported that a vehicle had hocked a telephone line causing the line to be pulled down. ATT was notified.

REPORT OF AN OPEN DOOR: City — officer located an open door on a vacant residence. He contacted several individuals inside the residence who were cleaning the home.

REPORT OF A VIOLATION OF A COURT ORDER: City — officer contacted the reporting party and no violation had occurred.

REPORT OF A CITIZEN ASSIST: City — reporting party stated that a mail delivery company had left a package against his door and he was unable to get out his door. Officer removed the package and provided it to the reporting party.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that during a traffic stop Hesston A Bradley age 24 of Ely was arrested for operating a OHV on a roadway, driving suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

REPORT OF A BATTERY: Reporting party stated that he went to visit his neighbor and that his neighbor stabbed him with a knife. During the officers investigation Dillon T. Hollis age 24 of Henderson, NV was arrested for attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon, obstructing a police officer, and resisting arrest.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that someone had been using his credit card without his permission. The credit card had been used to make several purchases out of state. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that a couple were displaying to much affection in public. The area was patrolled, but they were not located.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument over property. The parties separated for the night.

REPORT OF A CITIZEN ASSIST: City — officer contacted the owner of a vehicle who had parked to close to another car deny access to the vehicle. The owner moved her vehicle.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBEJCT: City — reporting party stated that a person was looking in their windows on their residence. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The individual was contacted and was fine.

REPORT OF A CUSTODY PROBLEM: Reporting party stated that the mother of his child was refusing to return the child to him. The mother is residing out of state. A report was completed.
