Shopko celebrates grand opening

On a morning where the high was 4 degrees, approximately 75 people braved the weather in winter coats, gloves and hats as they filed into Shopko to be a part of the official Grand Opening.

With a ribbon cutting ceremony and speech given by Mayor Melody VanCamp, people, were a buzz about the sales, special offers and gift cards that were given to the first 100 customers. “Shopko brings a variety of items to consumers that up until now was a car trip out of town or a few days wait in the mail.”

Shopke Store manager Tom Sandt thanked everyone for the support and while informing everyone Shopko’s plan to be very active in the community, presented a check for $2,500 to the White Pine County School District.
