MARCH 26  

REPORT OF A BROKEN WATER LINE: City — the City of Ely Water Department was notified.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSATNCES: City — reporting party stated that someone had been removing and vandalizing his election signs. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF DRUG ACTIVITY: City — reporting party believes he observed a possible drug deal in his neighborhood. The information was provided to the Task Force for further investigation.

REPORT OF A DOG BITE: City — officer received a report of a dog that had bitten a person. Officer contacted the individual and reported that the dog had bitten its owner. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: Officer located the vehicle and contacted the operator. He was advised of the complaint received and issued a warning.

REPORT OF A CITIZEN ASSIST: City — officer contacted the person and assisted him in obtaining logging.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: Officer contacted the person and reported that they were fine. No assistance was requested.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the mother and child and advised the mother to seek medical attention for the child due to an illness he has.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City— officer received a report of several people going door to door wanting to clean people’s carpets. The area was patrolled, but the individuals were not located.

REPORT OF AN AMBULANCE ASSIST: City — officer assisted the Ely ambulance with a female who needed medical assistance.

MARCH 28

REPORT OF THREATS: City – the reporting party was being harassed via social media.  Both parties were advised to stop messaging each other.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Christina Parent, of Ely, struck an unoccupied vehicle while turning.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject could not be located.

REPORT OF A BARKING DOG: City – the reporting party was allowed to sign a complaint for a neighbor’s barking dog.  Citation to be issued when the neighbor is located.

REPORT OF VANDALISM: City – the reporting party claimed his vehicle was vandalized while parked and unoccupied.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – juveniles were reportedly throwing rocks at a building.  The area was checked, but the juveniles had fled.

REPORT OF AN UNATTENDED DEATH: Elizabeth Christensen passed away due to natural causes.

REPORT OF FRAUD: The reporting party received a phone call that sounded fraudulent.  A check of local paperwork showed the call as being false.

REPORT OF AN ATTEMPT TO LOCATE: The subject was later located in another county.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the individual was contacted and taken to the E.R. by ambulance.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved and reported that an argument had taken place over clothing that hadn’t been washed. The parties involved had damaged each other’s property during the argument. The parties involved were counseled on anger management.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual had come to his home wanting to use the telephone. After he used the phone the individual refused to leave. The reporting party wanted the person trespassed from his home. The individual was contacted and advised.

REPORT OF AN AGENCY ASSIST: City — officer assisted Juvenile Probation with a drug test for a juvenile

.REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party stated that she heard someone yelling for help. Officer contacted the person involved who reported that her child was yelling for help due to she had her sitting in a corner for a time out. No problems were located.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM: City — the report was given to Ely Animal Control

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer reported that the child was taken to E.R. by ambulance due to a medical emergency.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: City — the owner of the dog was contacted and issued a warning.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that her ex-husband was not following the visitation order reference their children. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that she had bought a vehicle with her ex-boyfriend and now the boyfriend is wanting the car. She was advised it was a civil problem.

MARCH 30  

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — officer received a report of some pills that were located in a public area. Officer collected the items and contacted the person who had left them there. The pills were identified as being vitamins and the person who left them stated that she wanted to dispose of them.

REPORT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCECity — officer received a report of sewage that was leaking out of a pipe. Officer confirmed the problem and contacted the owner of the property. He was issued a citation for allowing the sewage to leak out onto the property. The City Building Inspector was also notified.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: City — officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised her of the problem. A warning was issued.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that a set of elk antlers were stolen from him and then sold. Officer investigated the incident and reported that the person who stole the antlers was identified ans she will be issued a citation for larceny when located.

REPORT OF AN UNATTENDED CHILD: City — reporting party stated that he observed a small child walking down the roadway. The area was patrolled, but the child was not located.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer attempted to locate the person, but he was not at home.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that he was living at a home and doing work on the residence, but recently had a disagreement with the owner of the home who asked him to leave. The reporting party stated that the owner of the home turned the power off. The reporting party was advised it was a civil problem and to make arraignments to vacate the property.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that she was attempting to remove some of her property from a residence, but the locks had been changed and she could no longer gain access to her belongings. Officer reported that an individual unlocked the home and stood by while the reporting party removed her items.

REPORT OF LITTERING: City — reporting party stated that he observed a person throw trash from their vehicle. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Araceli Marquez age 34 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer checked the vehicle and reported no violations had occurred.

MARCH 31  

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the person who stated that she was fine and needed no assistance.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that she let an individual stay at her home for a few days and now he is refusing to leave. The person was contacted and advised to leave. He complied.

REPORT OF A PARKING PROBLEM: City— reporting party stated that someone had parked a vehicle in front of his driveway. The owner of the vehicle was contacted who removed it from the area.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the mother and her children and reported that they were fine.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that a child had stolen an item from a local school. The parent and child were contacted and the item will be returned. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A PARKING PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that a vehicle was parked in an alleyway. The vehicle was tagged for removal.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer checked on the child and reported that he was fine.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City — officer reported that a husband and wife were separating and arguing over the ownership of a vehicle. They were both advised it was a civil problem.

REPORT OF FOUND MEDICATION: City — the items were collected and disposed of.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and during his investigation arrested Allie N. Roberts age 20 of Grand Chain, IL. Roberts was arrested for DUI, drugs and under the influence of a controlled substance.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer spoke to several individuals in the area and reported that no problems were located.

APRIL 1  

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — one of the parties involved was contacted who provided information on what had taken place. The other party involved had left the area. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that during a traffic stop Dawna M. Cain age 56 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — officer contacted the parties involved and during his investigation arrested Michael O Griffin age 53 of Ely. Griffin was arrested for domestic battery and abuse of an elderly person.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Officer assisted the Nevada Highway Patrol on a vehicle accident located on SR 490

REPORT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE: City — reporting party stated that her vehicle was parked by her apartment building and someone took it without her permission. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF AN AMBULANCE ASSIST: City — officer contacted the person who was choking on a piece of food. The individual was able to clear his airway and requested no further assistance.

REPORT OF THREATS: City — reporting party stated that an individual who was riding a skateboard was yelling threats towards him. Officer located the person who denied the allegation. He was issued a warning.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Reporting party stated that someone had entered into a vacant home. The home was checked and no problems were reported.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Officer reported that the vehicle had been abandoned in a remote county area. Officer is attempting to locate the owner.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer located the vehicle and reported no violations had occurred.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that during a traffic stop Jane D. Corbett age 56 of Ely was arrested. She was arrested for DUI drugs, under the influence of a controlled substance, trafficking a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, transporting a controlled substance, and convicted person failure to register.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that James Kettle age 46 of Ely was arrested on an Ely 7th Judicial District Court warrant.

 REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City —reporting party stated that she had received a text message from an individual claiming she was coming to her home to fight her. Officer contacted the parties involved and advised them to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that two large dogs in the bed of a truck were barking and acting aggressive. The owner of the dogs was contacted who removed them from the area.
