APRIL 24

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Randall Pirnar age 22 of Ely was arrested for DUI, headlamps required and driving without a valid license.

REPORT OF A LOST AND FOUND ITEM: City — reporting party located a debit card near his home. The item was collected and placed into lost and found.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: Officer located the vehicle and contacted the operator. He was advised of the complaint and issued a warning.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that his ex-girlfriend keeps coming to his home and messing with his property. Both parties involved were contacted who blamed each other for their problems. They were advised to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument over getting medical assistance. The parties involved were advised to separate for the night.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — officer reported that Thomas Hays of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on East Aultman Street. He made a turn onto 15th Street and as he did so the vehicle he was operating rolled onto its side. An accident report was completed.

APRIL 25

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A STUDENT: City — officer reported that a student at a local school was being disruptive. The student was contacted and advised to follow school rules.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City — the area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that he was trying to help an individual who stated needed help getting back on her feet. He stated that the individual became agitated with him so he left her at a local gas station. The individual was contacted who stated that the reporting party was verbally abusive towards her. They were advised to stop their contact with each other.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE CHILD ABUSE: City — officer received a report of a child who had possibly been abused by a family member. Officer reported that the incident was investigated and no abuse had occurred.

REPORT OF AN EMBEZZLEMENT: City — reporting party stated that an employee at his place of business has been embezzling money from him. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF ILLEGAL DUMPING: City — reporting party stated that an indidvual was illegally dumping garbage into a dumpster. The indidvual was contacted who had permission to use the dumpster. No problems were located.

REPORT OF A CITIZENS ASSIST: City — reporting party stated that she was having problems with her car seat fitting her infant child. Officer assisted in adjusting the car seat.

REPORT OF A CHILD CUSTODY PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that the mother of his child was refusing him visitation rights. Both parties involved were advised to follow the child custody court order.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that he had left a tool near a vehicle he was working on. When he went to retrieve the tool it was missing. During the officers investigation he learned that the tool had been picked up by another indidvual who was working on the same job. The parties involved agreed to make arraignments to pay for the tool.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of several children who were throwing rocks at a home. The juveniles and their guardians were contacted and advised of the problem.

REPORT OF A THEFT: Reporting party stated that several elk horns had been stolen from his home. Officer located the horns which had been taken by an individual who had diminished mental capacity. The horns were returned to the owner.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer received a report of a domestic disturbance that had taken place. During the officers investigation Richard W. Reeves age 55 of Poplar Bluff, MO was arrested. Reeves was arrested for domestic battery, disturbing the peace, and injury to property. He is accused of battering his girlfriend and damaging a police vehicle.

APRIL 26

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who had been involved in a verbal argument. The parties agreed to separate for the night.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — reporting party stated that he had gotten into an argument with his father and the argument had turned physical. Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had occurred. The case will be sent to the District Attorneys Office for review.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — officer contacted the parties involve who agreed to handle the accident civilly. A report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE: City — officer received a report of an individual who had taken a vehicle without the owner’s permission. Officer located the vehicle and identified the operator as Samuel J. Swafford age 28 of Ely. Swafford was arrested for unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, driving suspended, no seatbelts, and no insurance.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — reporting party stated that he had parked his vehicle in a local parking lot and when he returned he observed that someone had struck it with another vehicle. The operator of the striking vehicle had left a note with his number on it stating he had accidently struck the vehicle. A report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of an indidvual who was entering vehicles at a local parking lot. Officer located the person and identified her as Bobbye Carlson age 21 of Ely. During the officers investigation Carlson was arrested for burglary, petit larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is accused of entering several vehicles in an attempt to remove property. Officer also reported that during his investigation Carlson was determined to be a suspect in a burglary that had taken place at a local business several weeks ago.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Sherri Smead age 45 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer received a report of a party that was taking place with underage drinking. Officer contacted the individuals involved and reported that no underage drinking was observed.

APRIL 27

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of a student that had left school without permission. When officers arrived the juvenile had returned to school. The juvenile was advised to follow the school rules.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party who is an adult stated that her parents were harassing her. Officer contacted the parents and advised them not to contact the reporting party.

REPORT OF A BARKING DOG: Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised her of the complaint.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that an individual was trespassing on his mining claim. He had advised the individual to leave, which he did. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of a juvenile who had thrown a rock at a building breaking a window. The juvenile and his parent were contacted and a report will be sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF A TRAFFIC HAZARD: City — officer received a report of several election signs that were blocking visibility at an intersection. Officer inspected the intersection and reported no problems were located.

 REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that she bought a vehicle from an individual, but it doesn’t run. The reporting party was advised it was a civil problem.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that he had fired two individuals from his place of business. He stated that the two individuals he returned and caused a disturbance. The individual were contacted and trespassed from the business.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Officer received a report of a person burning garbage. The individual was contacted and advised to put the fire out. She complied.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party stated that he had bought a computer from an individual and was concerned it might be stolen. The computer was checked and no crime had occurred.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had occurred. The parties involved separated for the night.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that as she was driving by an individual he yelled profanities at her. Both parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF AN AMBULANCE ASSIST: City — officer assisted the Ely ambulance with an elderly male who needed medical assistance.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: Officer reported that Kimberly Stewart age 52 of Ruth was arrested on a Churchill County Justice Court warrant.

REPORT OF A LOST AND FOUND ITEM: City — reporting party stated that he had located a debit card in a local parking lot. The debit card was collected and placed into lost and found.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of a problem with an employee at a local business. Officer contacted the manager at the business who was requesting the employee leave for the day. The employee was contacted and advised to leave for the day. She compiled.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC BATTERY: City — officer received a report of a disabled person who had been struck by a family member. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A LOST ITEMS: Reporting party stated that while she was traveling on a bus she lost her medication. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A FRAUD: City — reporting party stated that she had sold a refrigerator on Craig’s List and the buyer sent her a check over the agreed purchase price. The reporting party was to cash the check and send the rest of the money back. The reporting party did as requested and then found out from her bank establishment that the check was fraudulent. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of an individual sitting in a vehicle for several hours. The individual was contacted and no problems were reported.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Officer received a report of a vehicle that had been involved in an accident on SR490. During the officers investigation it was determined that the driver was an unlicensed juvenile and he had taken his parents vehicle without permission. The juvenile was texting while driving and lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A CHILD CUSTODY PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that she had allowed the father of their child to take their child for visitations for several days. The father of the child was now refusing to give the child back. Officer contacted the parties involved and the situation was resolved.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Reporting party stated that she had struck a coyote with her vehicle causing damage to the vehicle. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A DEATH: Officer reported that John M. Fleming age 62 of Cherry Creek died at his residence due to natural causes

REPORT OF A SUICIDAL SUBJECT: City — officer contacted the individual who denied that he was going to harm himself. Family members and friend arrived to make sure the individual did not harm himself.

REPORT OF A MOTORCYCLE DISTURBANCE: City — officer received a report of unregistered motorcycles being operated on a city street. The area was patrolled, but the motorcycles was not located.

REPORT OF AN ATV DISTURBANCE: City — officer received a report of small children riding an ATV at a high rate of speed near a local trailer park. The area was patrolled, but they were not located.

REPORT OF A THEFT: Reporting party stated that someone had cut the lock off his shed. Officer investigated the incident and a report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Officer received a report of a vehicle accident that had occurred on County road 3. During his investigation it was determined that Jason Peters of Spring Creek was the operator. Peters lost control of his vehicle while traveling through a turn causing the vehicle to roll.
