High School Donation

The Class of 1977, represented by Mike Hill, was pleased to present White Pine High School Counselor Steffani Thompson and Assistant Principal Alan Hedges with a check for $4400 to be used to fund scholarships for the WPHS Class of 2018.

This alumni scholarship began last year when Bessie Chachas, from the WPHS class of 1976, spearheaded the creation of the Bobcat Spirit Scholarship.

Alumni from this class donated money for a scholarship as a way to give back to WPHS and provide opportunities for current Bobcats.  They raised $1800, which was awarded to two students from the Class of 2017.

The Class of 1976 then challenged all of the other classes to continue to give back to their community and school and to exceed the amount that was raised.  Mike Hill and the Class of 1977 picked up the challenge and raised $4400, far surpassing their initial goal of $2000.  Mr. Hill and the Class of ‘77 would like to challenge each of the other WPHS graduating classes to continue to support scholarship efforts to assist WPHS graduates as they pursue additional education.
