Sagebrush Quilters donate to Meals on Wheels

The Sagebrush Quilt Guild not only share their love of quilting with each other, they also share it with the community.

In the past, the group has donated quilts to the Sanderling Dialysis Center, Veteran’s organizations, and children’s hospitals. This year, the guild took on the momentous task of making quilts, afghans and place mats for the Meals on Wheels program.  They started the task in January and recently donated 50 quilts to Chris Ricci, director of the Senior Center, to distribute. The quilts were lap size and it was a great opportunity to try blocks and designs the ladies normally wouldn’t attempt. It was also a good occasion to use the yards of donated fabric given to the guild. These quilts are our way to offer both comfort and warmth during the holiday season.

The guild meets every Thursday at 4:00 pm and the second Saturday of each month (8:00 am) at the St. Bartholmew’ s Episcopal Church. We invite anyone interest in quilting to come and join us. For more information, call 296-1195.
