DECEMBER 18 

REPORT OF AN UNATTENDED DEATH: City – Lenn Baker passed away at his residence due to natural causes.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subjects were located and were fine.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIONS VEHICLE: City – the vehicle was located and was parked unoccupied in a parking lot.

REPORT OF A BAD CHECK: City – a local business reportedly received a check for services rendered, that was returned for non-sufficient funds.  A report was completed to be forwarded to the City Attorney.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting property claimed someone was trespassing on is property.  The area was checked, and two subjects who were on the property were advised they needed to leave.

REPORT OF A THEFT: The reporting party claimed an employee stole some of his cattle.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Shanaya Zeman, of Ely, started her vehicle and left it unattended.  The vehicle rolled from a parked position and struck a mailbox.  A report was completed.

DECEMBER 19 

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject wasn’t located.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City – the alarm was accidentally triggered by an employee.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: City – the manager of a local business requested two former employees be trespassed from the property.  The two subjects were located and advised not to return to the business.

REPORT OF FRAUD: The reporting party claimed an unknown person had fraudulently used his debit card.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: The reporting party believed someone tried to break into a garage she was using.  Nothing was missing from the garage.  The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was not located.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City – the reporting party believed someone had tampered with her vehicle. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – the reporting party claimed a male was dealing drugs from his vehicle.  The male was located, but denied dealing drugs.

DECEMBER 20  

REPORT OF AN AGENCY ASSIST: City — officer received a report of a patient that was being combative at the local hospital. Officer assisted the hospital staff with the individual.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: City — officer assisted Ely Animal Control with capturing the dog. The owner will be issued a citation for dog at large when located.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of several children who were in possession of possible drug paraphernalia while attending school. Officer assisted school officials with their investigation and the incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Kendra Belew a juvenile of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on North Street. Belew attempted to make a turn onto Orson Ave and struck a parked vehicle belonging to Margret Thiel of Ely. Belew was issued a citation for basic rule and an accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT: Christopher Hill of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a White Pine County vehicle that was parked and unattended behind him. Hill struck the vehicle causing damage to it. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Amber Aguilar of Las Vegas was operating a vehicle traveling on 11th Street. Due to icy road conditions and operating her vehicle in an unsafe manner she collided into the Train Depot causing damage to her vehicle and also the building. An accident report as completed and Aguilar was issued a citation for basic rule.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Chad Nielson of Spring Creek, NV was operating a vehicle traveling on Huntington Valley Road near Bald Mountain Mine when he struck a horse causing major damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A CAT: Reporting party stated that an injured cat was in her yard. The cat was captured and taken to the Ely Animal Control Building.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend was at her home and was refusing to leave. The ex-boyfriend was contacted and advised to leave the residence. He complied.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle who had a flat tire on his car. No accident had occurred.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: City — reporting party stated that several cars kept coming and going from a local residence. The area was patrolled, but no problems were located.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Alexis Trowbridge of Ely was operating a vehicle attempting to make a turn from Aultman Street onto Great Basin Blvd. Jim Bath of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. Trowbridge failed to yield as she proceeded to make the turn. Baths vehicle collided into Trowbriges vehicle. Trowbridge’s vehicle then collided into another vehicle being operated by Delaney Marich of Ruth. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVE: City — the area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

REPORT OF A CUSTODY PROBLEM: Reporting party stated that she was traveling to the Ely area to obtain custody of her child per a court order she had obtained. The reporting party wanted to document issues that might happen when she attempts to pick up her child. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City reporting party stated that he sent a text message to his ex-girlfriend and someone texted him back stating to leave her alone or else. The reporting party was advised to stop his contact with his ex-girlfriend.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — the area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

DECEMBER 22  

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — officer received a report of a fight that was occurring at a local bar. Officer contacted the individuals involved who were arguing over paying for the bar tab. The manager of the bar worked the situation out with the individual causing the disturbance.

REPORT OF A MOTORIST ASSIST: Officer reported that due to mechanical problems a vehicle had broken down in the roadway. Officer assisted the operator by pushing the vehicle out of the roadway.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the individual and reported that she was fine.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual come to his home and made threats towards him. The reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City — reporting party wanted to remove some of his personal items from a vehicle that had been towed. The tow company was refusing to allow him access to his property. The reporting party was advised it was a civil problem.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that several months ago her roommate had stolen some of her clothes. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Traci Sandberg of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Great Basin Blvd. She failed to stop at a stop light and struck a vehicle being operated by Eric Kirby of Elko.  An accident report was completed and Sandberg was issued a citation for failure to obey traffic signal.

REPORT OF A PARKING PROBLEM: Officer received a report of a vehicle that was parked in an alleyway, blocking traffic. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and advised to remove it.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer was unable to locate the person.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party stated that her motion light keeps coming on. Officer checked the area, but nothing was located.

DECEMBER 23  

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer located the vehicle and reported that the operator had left the lights on. The operator was advised.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that a person who had been evicted from a home had returned. The individual was contacted who thought he had additional time to remove his property. He was advised to leave the residence.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Victor Ho age 50 of Chino CA was arrested for basic speed, failure to maintain lane of travel and DUI.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved agreed to separate for the night.

DECEMBER 24  

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that someone had thrown eggs at his home. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM: City— the report was given to Ely Animal Control.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — reporting party stated that the father of her child came to her home uninvited. She stated that they argued and he took her car keys. Officer reported that the vehicle that the keys belong to is owned by both parties involved. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A THEFT: The incident was investigated by Ely Tribal Police.

REPORT OF FOUND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: The items were collected and destroyed.

REPORT OF AN OPEN DOOR: City — reporting party stated that her neighbor was gone and she observed a door open of the neighbor’s house. The residence was checked and the door was secured.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that his wife who is separated from came to their home and removed some property. The reporting party was advised it was a civil issue.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — reporting party stated that he had been attacked by two unknown subjects in the parking lot of a motel. Officers patrolled the area, but no one was located.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — officer contacted the parties involved who were intoxicated and uncooperative. The incident was documented.
