JANUARY 8 

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party claimed to be attempting to move out from her residence, which she shared with her boyfriend, but he was prohibiting her from taking any of her belongings.  Contact was made with both parties and the issue was resolved.

REPORT OF A PROTECTION ORDER VIOLATION: The reporting party claimed to have been contacted by a person who has an active protection order against him.  The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 27 year old Andrew Lance Moller, of Ely, was arrested at a residence for violating his probation.

REPORT OF A CUSTODY ISSUE: City – former spouses were arguing over who had visitation of their children.  They eventually came to an agreement.

REPORT OF DRUGS: City – the reporting party discovered drug paraphernalia on her curtilage.  The paraphernalia was collected.

JANUARY 9 

REPORT OF SHOTS FIRED: City – the area was checked, but nothing unusual was located.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF A CUSTODY PROBLEM: City – the reporting party claimed his ex had taken their children out of state against his wishes.  Per the child custody agreement, this was allowed.  The reporting party was advised the issue was civil.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: The subject was located and left the area.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City – deputies responded to a fight in progress in the street. When they arrived, they observed 23 year old Ely resident Francisco Javier Rosales running away. Rosales was later located and taken into custody.  It was later determined Rosales had battered a person whom he is dating.  A bystander intervened, and Rosales got into a fight with him.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – a school reported a parent was causing a disturbance.  The parent was gone when officers arrived.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER: City – a local business requested a patron be trespassed from the property.  The patron left without incident.

JANUARY 10 

REPORT OF AN ALARM: The residence was checked and found to be secure.

REPORT OF A THEFT: The reporting party claimed an unknown subject stole property from inside his vehicle during the night.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE CHILD ABUSE: City – the incident was investigated and found the child’s injury was a result of wrestling with his older brother.

REPORT OF A DEATH: Howard Robinson, of Idaho, was found deceased in his vehicle, with no signs of foul play.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City – when officers checked the area, the suspicious subjects were gone.

JANUARY 11  

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer located the vehicle and contacted the operator and passenger. No problems were reported.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Ciera Lafferty age 37 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer located the vehicle and contacted the operator. No problems were located.

REPORT OF A BAD CHECK: City — reporting party stated that she had received a check for payment, but the check had been returned due to insufficient funds. The check will be turned over to the City Attorney for prosecution or collections.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that her elderly father had become violent. The reporting party was advised to consult with his doctor and to discuss options for care.

REPORT OF DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place and during the incident a firearm had been discharged and someone had been shot. Officers investigated the incident and reported that a gun had been discharged, but no one had been injured. Officers reported that Jonathan Parker age 33 of Ely was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest, and discharging a firearm in a public place. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A MISSING CHILD: City — reporting party stated that her child was outside playing and now was missing. The child was located and returned home.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer contacted the owner of the vehicle and reported that no problems were located.

REPORT OF AN ATTEMPT TO LOCATE: The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that someone was walking behind her home and was using a flashlight. The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

JANUARY 12 

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: The reporting party claimed two males were knocking on her door and were possibly armed.  The area was checked, but no one was located.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN: City – the reporting party claimed an unknown subject struck his vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A BAD CHECK: City – a local business reported receiving a check for services rendered, which was returned for non-sufficient funds.  A report was completed and submitted to the City Attorney.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – the subject was gone when officers arrived.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was not located.

REPORT OF A DEATH: City – A female subject, identified as Angela Marie Spicer, was discovered deceased in her parked vehicle in a local parking lot.  No signs of foul play were present.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT: City – Naiem Chowdhuary, of Ely, was backing out of a parking place, when his vehicle was struck by Cody Britton, of Ely, who was backing into a parking place.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party claimed a male was going through garbage cans in front of his workplace.  The area was checked, but the male was not located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – an employee of a store reported a customer refusing to leave after being trespassed from the property.  The customer left prior to law enforcement arrival.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: The reporting party claimed a vehicle was parked in front of vacant home.  The vehicle was checked and was properly parked.

JANUARY 14 

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: The reporting party complained about a neighbor having a party.  The neighbor was contacted and agreed to keep the noise down.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: The vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – a deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, identified as 66 year old Wendover resident Patrick Maes. Maes was later arrested for driving an unregistered vehicle and failing to register as an ex-felon.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: The parties were contacted and it was discovered it was only an argument between a female and her boyfriend’s daughter.  The two women agreed to separate to cool down.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City – the reporting party discovered someone had damaged the door knob on her rental.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – several juveniles were reportedly climbing on the concession stand at a local park.  They were released to an adult.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was located and claimed to be okay.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – deputies responded to the residence and discovered 23 year old Ely resident Francisco Javier Rosales hiding in a closet.  It was discovered that Rosales was violating certain condition of his release from jail last week.  Rosales was arrested for violating those conditions.
