Track team in top place in state

White Pine High’s Saxtyn Brewster won two events at the Richard Lewis Invitational at Moapa Valley High School in Overton last Friday, taking the long jump with an effort of 20 feet, 5¾ inches and the triple jump with a mark of 42-4¾. Among the 17 schools that participated, most were from the Las Vegas area. Both White Pine boys and girls finished in eighth place in the team scoring. The boys had 30 points and the girls earned 41.

The Bobcats’ Lily Fullmer won the 100 hurdles in 16.22, and tied for first with Lincoln County’s Brooklyn Hafen in the high jump with an effort of 4-10. She was second in the triple jump.

Madison Rick and Emma Boren did not compete for the Ladycats this meet.

The next meet for the Bobcats is this Friday at the Ward Coates Invitational in Elko.

Looking around the top 10 rankings in the 2A classification, Rick is the current leader in both the 100 and 200 meters, second at 400 meters and in the long jump.

Fullmer is the 2A state leader in the 100m and 300m hurdles. She and teammate Candyce Humphries are third and fourth in the 800 meters. Devin Pickens is third in the 1600 meters. Odessa Stewart and Trace Deeds are first and third in the 3200 meters.

White Pine is the state leader at the girls 4×800 relay, second to Yerington in the girls 4×200 relay and third in the 4×400 relay.

Emma Boren leads the 2A girls in the discus. Anna Watt is tied for first in the pole vault. Aaleeah Jacobsen is third in the triple jump.

For the Bobcat boys, Zeke Vinson is ranked second in the 400 meters and third in the 200 meters.

White Pine is first in the 4×400 relay, second in the 4×800.

The boys have six of the top 10 in the 2A high jump, led by Phoenix Ball. Brewster and Noah Walker are second and third in the long jump and Brewster leads in the triple jump.
