MAY 1 

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: The reporting party claimed to be having issues with a family member involving property from a deceased relative.  The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN UNATTENDED DEATH: City – Jay Derbidge passed away at his residence from natural causes.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: The reporting party claimed to be having issues with his adult step-daughter.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Christina Craine, of McGill, was backing from a parked position and struck a fire hydrant.  A citation was issued for unsafe backing.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – the reporting party claimed two boys had harassed another boy while at school.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – a traffic stop was conducted and the officer spoke to the driver, identified as 36 year old Ely resident Cristina Sophia Lerch.  Lerch was later arrested for driving without a valid license and possession of a controlled substance.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City – the driver was located and warned about his driving.

MAY 2 

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City – the suspects were contacted and warned about the volume of their music.

REPORT OF INJURY TO PROPERTY: The reporting party claimed someone damaged his property.  Damage to his fence was located and documented.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subjects were located and appeared to be fine.

REPORT OF A TRUANCY: City – a student was deemed a habitual truant and was issued a citation.  A report was forwarded to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – a juvenile was reportedly driving a go-cart in the street.  He was contacted and advised not to ride on the road.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – the reporting party claimed his ex-girlfriend entered his home while he was gone and she took her property.  Contact to be made with the female.

REPORT OF A FIRE: Two subjects started a small brush fire to stay warm.  One of the subjects was identified as 58 year old Ely resident David Alexander Archer.  Archer was found to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of a firearm.  Archer was later arrested without incident.

REPORT OF AN UNATTENDED DEATH: Bernice Blackham passed away at her residence from natural causes.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – both parties were contacted and both claimed to have been battered.  The deputies were unable to determine the primary physical aggressor.  A report will be completed and submitted to the City Attorney for review.  While the deputies were conducting the investigation, 48 year old Ely resident, Stalene Jackson, continually used loud and tumultuous language.  Jackson was later arrested for disturbing the peace.

MAY 3

REPORT OF A CITIZEN ASSIST: City — officer contacted the person and reported that he was having a medical emergency. An ambulance was requested that transported the person to the E.R. for medical assistance.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at the local hospital. Officer assisted medical staff with the individual.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUB JECT: City — officer contacted the person who had run out of gas in his vehicle and was asking people for money to assist him. The owner of the property requested the person leave his property. The person was advised to leave the area.

REPORT OF THREATS: City — reporting party stated that an adult had threatened her child over their dog being on his property.  The adult was contacted who denied the allegation. He was advised to contact law enforcement if there were problems with the dog being on his property.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City— the area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: Reporting party stated that several windows on a vacant home had been broken. The home was checked and the home owner was advised.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the person and reported that she was fine.

REPORT OF A SEXUAL ASSAULT: City — officer received a report of several children who were inappropriately touched by a family member. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT: City — Adeline Valdez of Ely was operating a vehicle and was pulling into a parked position. Donna Sjogren of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. Sjogren failed to see Valdez causing an accident. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the person and reported that she was fine.

REPORT OF AN OPEN DOOR: City — officer received a report of an open door on a vacant home. The home was checked and the door was secured.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer contacted the person who had used an illegal drug and was having medical problems. The person was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that he either lost his gun or it had been stolen. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — officer received a report of a fight that was occurring at a local bar. When officers arrived they contacted the parties involved and during their investigation arrested Robert Armijo age 39 of Ely. Armijo was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace, and trespassing.

MAY 4 

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that someone had attempted to gain access to his camper trailer and by doing so damaged the door on the trailer. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that someone had cut the tires on his vehicle. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: The area was patrolled, but the dog was not located.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC BATTERY: City — officer received a report of a domestic battery that bad taken place. During the officers investigation Patricia K. Dadeppo age 51 of Ely was arrested. Dadeppo was arrested for domestic battery. She is accused of battering a family member.

REPORT OF A LOST AND FOUND ITEM: City — officer reported that a wallet was turned into the lost and found. The owner was contacted and the wallet was returned.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: Reporting party located a stop sign that had been shot. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A GOAT AT LARGE: City — the owner of the goat was contacted who secured the animal.

REPORT OF AM JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of a juvenile who was throwing rocks at a person. The juvenile was contacted and spoken to about his actions.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. They were advised to keep the peace.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party wanted an incident documented where a person had made threats to the reporting party. The reporting party didn’t want the person making the threats contacted.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A VIOLATION OF A COURT ORDER: City — officer investigated the incident and reported that no violation had occurred; due to the order had expired.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that she gave a check to a friend to pay a bill for her. The reporting party stated that the person never paid the bill and still had the check. Officer is attempting to locate the friend.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual had approached him in an aggressive manner and caused a disturbance. Officer located the person who fled from officers. The person was apprehended and identified as Luke L. Thompson age 41 of Ely. He was arrested for obstructing a police officer. While officers were making the arrest another person was interfering with their investigation. She was identified as Laurel A. Hughes age 27 of Ely. Hughes was arrested for obstructing a police officer and disturbing the peace.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: City — the owner of the dog was contacted and advised to keep his dog contained.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — officer contacted the parties involved and reported that one of them had been battered. Investigation into the incident continues.

MAY 5

REPORT OF AN ARREST: Officer reported that during a traffic stop on a vehicle a local juvenile was detained for driving under the influence of alcohol. The juvenile was later released to his parent and the report will be sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — officer received a report of a tenant at a local motel who had damaged a window in one of the rooms. Officer attempted to locate the tenant, but was unsuccessful. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A MOTORCYCLE DISTURBANCE: City — reporting party stated that several individuals were riding their ATV and motorcycles on private property and they were causing a disturbance. The area was patrolled, but they had left the area.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual had come to her place of work and was causing a disturbance by yelling at her. Officer contacted the person and she was trespassed from the business.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the parents and their children and reported that they were fine.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Officer reported that a local juvenile was traveling on Cave Valley Road when he swerved to miss an animal. He lost control of his vehicle causing it to leave the roadway and roll. The vehicle had been removed from the scene prior to officer’s arrival. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — officer received a report of a fight that had taken place at a local bar. During the officers investigation Lee M. Eggleston age 25 of Kuna, ID. He was arrested for disturbing the peace. Officer reported that during the investigation a person identified as David W. Pederson age 49 of Philipsburg, MT kept interfering with officers. Pederson was arrested for disturbing the peace, obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest, and intimidating a police officer.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Frederick Partey of Ely was operating a vehicle at the intersection of 9th and Ave M. Trista Jacaway of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on 9th street. Partey failed to yield the right of way causing an accident. He was issued a citation for failure to yield and an accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A SEXUAL ASSAULT: City — reporting party stated that she had been sexually assault. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: Reporting party stated that she was having a disagreement with her neighbor over a fence. The parties involved were advised it was a civil problem.

REPORT OF A LOST AND FOUND ITEM: City — reporting party stated that an individual had left his firearm at the motel he was staying at. The firearm was collected and will be returned to the rightful owner.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm

REPORT OF A CHILD CUSTODY PROBLEM: City — officer reported that the parties involved were arguing over child custody. The parties involved were advised to work the situation out civilly.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Reporting party stated that a manhole cover flipped up causing damage to his vehicle. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: The individuals were contacted who stated that they had been involved in a verbal argument. The parties agreed to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM: Officer located the dogs at large and was able to capture one of them. The owner will be issued a citation for dog at large when located.
