Bobcats prepare for league opener
Preseason tournaments ended for the Bobcats over the last weekend. Now, league play lies ahead.

White Pine travels to West Wendover Friday for varsity and junior varsity doubleheaders to open D-2A South league play. A non conference doubleheader follows Saturday with 3A Virgin Valley High School at Mesquite.

“We want to go up to West Wendover Friday and win two (varsity) games,” said Coach Tom Sattler.

“We want to go up there and get four wins,” he added about the pair of junior varsity games at West Wendover.

The Bobcats visited Moapa Valley High School in Overton for the Moapa Valley Wooden Bat Tournament Friday and Saturday.

White Pine lost five games. They were: to Virgin Valley, 10-0; to Wells, 5-3; to Moapa Valley, 14-3; to Moapa Valley, 13-7. The reason the Bobcats played Moapa Valley a second time is that Andre Agassi Academy left the tournament early and could not play a scheduled game with White Pine Saturday.

The weekend before, the Bobcats won two games and lost three at the Route 66 Baseball Classic at River Valley High School in Mohave Valley, Ariz.

The first home games will be with The Meadows at Broadbent Park April 2.
